i stopped playing this garbage when they introduced focus and then made grinding focus even more grindy when people complained. did they change anything for the better or is the game still in complete freefall in terms of fun and quality?

Void keys are now changed to relics that you can choose to take with you on a mission to get Prime pieces. And you are allowed to pick from 1 of the 4 rewards from every players relic on completion.
You can use "void traces" to upgrade a relic to increase it's chances to get the rare items on that individual relic's list.
They added some sort of CoD PVP Dog tags game mode and introduced it via a PVE mission.
You can now walk around as your operator during a missions to do mostly pointless shit.

Saryn was what made me want to play the game, I started when they reworked her and released her prime, so I'm not salty about her changes. Just a little sad she's a bit squishier than other frames in higher level content.

I have a lot of favorites though, Nidus is great, Ivara is amazing, Banshee is fun, Nyx is a blast, Nova is a monster. I think that's why I enjoy the damn game, because I can pick out of all the characters and find some fun way to play.

Nyx, but I think they've been slowly nerfing the effects of Chaos/Rad Proc, I remember when I first played a few years back you could solo T4s with Chaos and a good weapon, but now it seems like they still shoot at you 25-50% of the time.

Depends on the frame, what I did starting out was look through the wiki to see what frames looked cool to me and where their blueprints dropped. Most of them are just boss drops, so you need to get a kit together to make farming them effective for you.
Also, if you haven't already, join a clan so you have access to whatever they've researched, which will be weapons and utilities and a few frames (Zephyr, Wukong).

That makes a lot of sense.

Depends in the frame, most earlier frames are maybe 5-6 runs of a boss max unless you get really unlucky. Some of the quest locked frames have time gates though, so you'll have to wait 12 hours between some pieces.

Some other frames like Ivara are complete luck, took me about 3 days running spy levels until i had all three parts.

Is buying the blueprints not worth it at all?

Don't buy frames, you can earn them yourself or buy the parts cheaper from players in trade chat (in the case of Primes)

Theres 4 bps for frames (with some exceptions), the optics, chassis, systems, and the bp to put them all together.

The ones you buy are the last one, you need to farm the part bps.

Oh those, in the marketplace for credits, yeah you buy those from there and collect the parts blueprints from bosses or wherever, and assemble them together. So yes, buy those blueprints because that's what you're supposed to do.

Most can be bought for credits, but some (eg Octavia, Nidus) are done through quests while others (Ivara) are gotten from other sources (T3 spy missions in Ivara's case).

SomaP is just a high damage stream of lead, while the Drakgoon is an absolutely hilarious blast of bouncing shrapnel that can clear a room. Anything explosive is just great with her. Maybe try the Zarr.

Well the purpose of Angstrum with Mirage was stacking on multishot, increasing the clip size, and then hitting Hall of Mirrors, and then nuking entire levels. I killed myself the first time I did it, but I was laughing so hard I didn't care.

I'm fine with the whole "rockets/grenades kill you" thing, just wish they'd take a note from reality and put a distance on activation where within a certain range the explosive isn't active and you're just slamming enemies in the face with a shell.

Kulstar is a pocket rocket that explodes into bomblets. The Zarr is a pirate cannon that does a similar thing but can also switch into shotgun mode for easy blasting.

Dread is good in terms of bows, which means that it's the king of shit mountain.

She does stupid amounts of damage (enough to oneshot level 100+ enemies with ease) since Peacemaker now scales off of secondary mods.

also ive been playing this since before like everyone, since first day, just been playing solo and casually and rarely ever hardcore farming. i just enjoy the window dressing and dont take the game too seriously, but the devs make it really ha rd to keep my interested

Nova, her skill set is pretty fun (except for the floating orbs), very mobile and strong to boot, so I love using her.

There's an augment for Nova's #1 that lets you detonate all remaining orbs when you recast it. It's pretty fun slapping some range on and using it vs infested. Literal suicide bomber spec.
