Have you started your yearly playthrough of commandos 2 yet? I really hope that the genre will have a comeback with the release of shadow tactics.

I've played the shit out of commandos 1, but every time I try commandos 2 I just get triggered hardcore by the UI and give up. I've not even completed the first level

I have actually always had a hard time completing the first commandos. It just makes me want to play the second one. Never really had a strong reaction to the ui of the second one.

I do actually really enjoy it I just haven't got the balls to commit to anything without being able to undo it

Also the third one was stupid on that tropical level I remember you could hide in some trees without punishment so you'd pop out, slay some guards, hide, slay and repeat until there's no guards left

I should get to finishing Shadow Tactics sometime. It was good but I stopped for no reason.

How's Desperados by the way?

I wish you could give orders to multiple commando during pause.

I would actually have not problem with that. Sure real time with pause would make the combat trivially easy as long as you have enough ammo but if people who want to go through the game using combat can already abuse the AI. But the stealth would definitely be more fun if you easier could order your characters to do things in parallel.

The desperados games are fun enough but i have always preferred commandos.

There's a sequel in the works for the Shadow Tactics series, right?

They said in an interview that half their team worked on the console port and that the other half worked on something that would make fans of the genre happy. So either an expansion pack, sequel or perhaps even an new ip. Or perhaps they have gotten the right to do a commandos game .....

Me as well, i was worried that the high price point would drive away people but the game seems to have sold quite well despite the high price point with as far as i know no sales that cut the price significantly.

Is this map doable without killing?

It was truly a bitch compared to others.

I would imagine there's a jewtube video where some autist has done the impossible.

So what's with these games? Every time I see threads the game looks comfy and fun but every review seems to say the game is a broken piece of crap.

No easy mode. Not even normal mode.

So it's just shit players that can't get good? Are all the commandos worth playing? Bundle with them all for $1.94 on at the moment.

i have never had any problems getting commandos 2 to work. There is a lot of unexplained shortcuts and stuff that is kind of required to have a good time though. The game doesn't really have a tutorial so that might be why some people don't understand what is going on.

I would recommend the second one. Sure they are all worth playing but the third one is a step down from the second one and the second one is have aged better than the first one in my opinion.

The fourth one is fine but different and not really related to the other games in the series gameplay wise.
