Reminder that Koizumi is /our guy/ and Odyssey will save the series.

you can pinpoint the exact moment

Well, remember SFA was prior to 2006.

nintendo devs are overrated. yeah mario and zelda, but what else

Sega's devs trump the shit out of Nintendo's crap. Except 3D platformers, admiittedly

test

Reminder that he no longer directs games.
He is the "adviser" which is a pretty abstract way of saying that he is involved somehow with the project, like lucas involvement with the new star wars movies.

It feels like his name is still throw at mario and zelda titles for the same of name brand.
People don't care about the nobody that directed mario galaxy. They care about miyamoto.

It really sucks that Koizumi is considered a newer face, even though he's been with the company since A Link to the Past and has had his hand in pretty much every Mario or Zelda game since.

This is your first day on Sup Forums if you genuinely believe that people don't know or care about Koizumi.

Not him, but a lot of people were claiming that the people at the January event were "younger talent". Nintendo shoves Miyamoto, Aounuma, and Tezuka so much that people forget about the other guys.

>and Odyssey will save the series.

Whoa now, a little early for that call.

It's a team effort like every game. Seniors get the authority and youngers move up etc.

Its like every industry

Wrote the ones that everyone loves.

I'm glad Koizumi is getting recognition.

This.
It reminds me of how Yoko Taro talked about elder devs taking advantage of young, more talented people to keep themselves relevant and how he (Taro) felt revolted by it and fought to make his own games.

Miyamoto is literally that guy using younger talent for his own benefit.

You either die a legend or live long enough to become a hack.
I still have respect for him, but it seems like every game he touches, he infects it with horrible ideas and it sucks. They bomb, and all the games being made while he was making some turd turn out to be hits. He can no longer innovate, and instead uses bad gimmicks to force games to be different from mainstream ones, or the previous title in the series. The best and most successful games lately have had little to do with him. He may have invented Zelda, but he would have made the new one shit probably.

>got jealous over DKC's graphics
>praised angry birds
>proud of steel diver
>prevented orchestral music for many years
>thinks pikmin1 is better than pikmin2
>thinks there are gamers that can't live without pikmin games
>forced shit controls into star fox zero

>When did he become a hack?
It's not something you become, it's something you always were

watching someone age 30 years at a glance is pretty shitty

>got jealous over DKC's graphics
Literally unsubstantiated. The source (Ultimate History of Video Games by Steven L. Kent) most likely made this story up. Either that or it was one hell of a translation error.

Miyamoto worked very closely with Chris and Tim Stamper on Donkey Kong Country and even contributed to the art himself in the form of concepts and designs.

I feel like the reason for some of the bullshit decisions that have plagued some Nintendo games is because the younger talent ask Miyamoto for advice and go with no matter how stupid it is. It is part of the reason why Miyamoto stepped down from directing games because he wanted to younger talent to think for themselves. I think the bigger problem is that people in Nintendo are too afraid of saying no to Miyamoto.

Fuck Miyamoto

Dont forget its his fault paper mario is hot trash now
