Contains only 4 Dungeons + 1 end boss

>Contains only 4 Dungeons + 1 end boss
>Only gives you 4 items
>Every weapon is made of glass

Yet it's GOTY? No bully on Switch or the Zelda series but someone convince me why this game is being given a hard pass on these setbacks?

900 korok seeds and 120 shrines don't do it for me so please don't mention those.

Climbing and paragliding

Despite really liking this game, I do not know how the fuck this got 10/10s. Like, I don't know how. its fucking my mind.

Is it really open world perfection?

>Contains only 4 Dungeons + 1 end boss
Don't follow any map
>Only gives you 4 items
There's far more than that
>Every weapon is made of glass
Be smart with how you approach conflicts.

Yep. It's just that good.

No. Paid reviews. Nintendo needs to die.

Considering it's non-linear progression, Yes.

Almost every other AAA open world game still sets you down a linear path that you have to do in a certain order. And often inflicts a lot of hand holding during missions.
BOTW Does none of that.

GTA Syndrome. One of them got a 10 so now all of them have to.

Considering which other games get 10/10s, BOTW getting one isn't all too far fetched.
Persona 5 getting them is just ridiculous though.

>Only gives you 4 items

The Zora armor allows you to swim up waterfalls and the Goron armor fulfills the exact same function that fire resistant clothing had in previous games. Besides Korok leaves, you could go into the individual functions of all the weapons too.

>rain
>jump and dash button assignment
>Moblins still destroy the framerate despite the updates
I like the game, but it certainly isn't perfect.

The only criticism it has is "It's not like the other games" or "I don't like that concept in general"
Other than that it's minor flaws that don't distract from the adventurous feeling your have constantly.
And that's what Zelda is about. Not the shitty rewards you get but the way to observe your environment.

I could go on and on but it really is a game you have to play yourself. Even I was calling it shit before the release but it nailed a concept which games have been struggling with for the past decade.
It's the new standard for Open world games and such an accomplishment deserves a 10/10 to me.

>>Contains only 4 Dungeons + 1 end boss

Majora's Mask?

>>jump and dash button assignment

You can switch these in the system menu.

At least Majoras Mask Dungeons all looked different and the bosses didn't play out 99% the same

Retarded normies likes it so of course its going to have good ratings. ALL 3d Zelda are trash.

its too easy thats the main problem with the game. I felt like a challenge was right around the corner all game but it never came and then I killed ganon without dying once and wow that just really disappointed me so much.

Hard mode is coming soon so they acknowledge this problem.

>>Contains only 4 Dungeons + 1 end boss
The overworld itself has lots of areas that play like optional dungeons and has tons of optional bosses all over the place (IIRC, there's 20+ different encounters that get a boss life bar in the game). However I do wish the divine beasts were longer
>>>Only gives you 4 items
The four abilities you get at the start are more like tools for interacting with the world than items. Instead, your items are replaced with gear, magic spells, and food made from rare materials which all allow you to explore more of Hyrule than you can at the start. I wish there were some more classic Zelda items too, but there's definitely a nice sense of progression for the first 50 hours.
>>Every weapon is made of glass
This is a meme, and it makes the Master Sword in this game the best one in any of them since you get to use it indiscriminately

The game isn't perfect (since that's literally impossible) but it does enough right and moves the series forward in so many ways I think it deserves to be in the upper echelon of "10/10" games, along with games like Dark Souls and Mario Galaxy. The main people complaining about this are autists who can't get over how they think 10/10 means actual perfection and not just in the top percentile of games.

You know that's not what I meant.

>mario galaxy
>games without a difficulty mode choice
>good
All nintendo games are for youth and women.

Are Nintendodo the greatest conmen in gaming?

Galaxy was right next to Dark Souls in my post, another game without an explicit difficulty setting. Is that also for youth and women?

Difficulty modes mask bad game design.

Despite the game's flaws I've found it fun and rewarding exploring around and I'm satisfied with the amount of playtime the game has given me.

>aspects of the game I don't like don't count

Another one of these threads...

>Paid reviews
Yet every other thread calls Nintendo Jews, which is it faggots?

I'm saying the review system is garbage if games without a difficulty setting can get anything beyond an 8. reviewers are casual normie faggots.

Designing a game to be challenging for both a 10 year old and an adult is not happening.

Fuck off normies, you're not welcome on Sup Forums. BotW is the shittest game of 2017 and anyone with half a brain cell would realize that.

You didn't answer my question. Are you saying Dark Souls doesn't deserve more than an 8 because it doesn't have a difficulty setting?

1.) Round + Square bomb
2.) Stopping Time
3.) Ice Pillars
4.) Camera

Nope, it's 4. Plus the ability to go up a waterfall is only moderately used.

Is that you again Horizon-kun?

>All nintendo games are for youth and women.

You know, you're not wrong. My girl only knows and cares to play NInty games. She is aware of others but that's by watching others play them.
