Everyone always says the community is at fault for being shit and not being able to have fun and banter but really it's the fault of the industry failing to deliver games where players actually have the opportunity to regulate their own experience beyond just sending reports off to automated systems. Yeah some people like to power trip but as a whole you get way better communities when they regulate themselves, and you can always find and favorite servers with the exact flavor of gameplay, skill level, and community feel that you want no matter how autistic or laid back that is. You often don't get a choice now they just throw everyone in one queue. Remember when TF2's servers were at its most active, and you had all kinds of servers ranging from furry porn hangouts to comp groups to meme central crit spam to standard servers to x only servers? All those people are stuck playing with each other, of course everyone hates each other.
