hotel in vampire the masquerade bloodlines

squad 4 the serial murder house level

why was pic scary?

Spider caves in Dark Messiah.

Can you remind me what's spooky about this? I can't remember anything in Hell's Highway being outside of the normal shooting Nazis action.

OP pic is the asylum level in Brothers in Arms: HH. It feels like a level straight out of FEAR.

That game had a horror-ish feel at some parts. See youtube.com/watch?v=adV3sBKVUdA at 6:46.

notradame

like half of starfox 64

I've never had much of a problem facing spiders in video games as an arachnophobe but i'll be damned if i say those levels on Dark Messiah didn't trigger the everliving shit out of me.

Unironically this in some games

>getting attacked by sexy sluts
How horrifying

Ghost level in Rugrats sfr

this. there is so much fucky going on in the background when you´re just fumbling about

Cave of the Past+Giygas in EarthBound always fucked with my head and the Shadow Temple in Ocarainia.

...

That mission towards the end of COD 1 when you're in the dam.
>That loud as fuck siren
>Not knowing what waiting around each corner
>The hyper sense of urgency
I suppose it isn't really horror but when I was much younger it scared the shit out of me

Fuck me the mansion level in the first timesplitters absolutely scared the shit out of me.

>trying to nail the headshots with a double barrelled shotgun as you get overrun

Always under pressure. What a fucking great game.

that was the last mission wasn't it? I don't remember much of that game..

...

>faces popping up out of nowhere

Instant nope.
youtube.com/watch?v=2It-0H0IF3k

>look closer...

Ravenholm

>Ravenholm
this shit is seriously overrated, it's just as bland as the rest of the game.

...

>objective: escape
youtube.com/watch?v=RyUiu_2jjP8

t. edgy underage

Any game that features spiders

ONLY I HAVE THE BRAINS TO RULE LYLAT

Why do people insist in memeing that shit level?

You can run through the entire section in less than 20 minutes. Its boring, shit level design,
and cliched "horror" elements

played this level over and over again with my mates. Its what i wanted left 4 dead to be

...

...

Cragscleft, Cathedral, Return to the Cathedral...

Fuck it, like 90 percent of Thief scared me shitless

Escape from Shinra HQ and Kalm flashback in FFVII

Chapter 3 of Paper Mario TTYD

Geothermal Caves in Tomb Raider 2013

>people keep posting VTMB
>'non horror game'

>these hells highway graphics
shiet when I saw hells highway ingame trailer first time i got blown away by that tech

How is it a horror game?

>TR2013

The classic Tomb Raiders were a lot more scary in a good way, especially 1-3. That atmosphere of wonder is unbeaten.

Warrior Within when this nigger started chasing you

de_dust

Any haunted house in a pokemon game

adding to that, any haunted house/building in a mario level

The haunted hotel in Super Mario Sunshine was spoopy as fuck

Max Pyane nightmare sequences

Most of TS2 was kinda spooky for me
>lower level of Siberia
>Robot Factory
>chicago
>Notra Dame

TS:FP had Mansion of Madness, that was god tier horror level design, reminded me of Evil Dead a lot

Theres gotta be a way to emulate this for online coop on PC

This was only scary because poison was a bitch

I'd say that's a horror game.

The asylum in world at war

emulate the GC version of FP?
not sure if the version differ by console but you can Netplay 4 people on the latest release without much trouble

Vault 11 in Fallout New Vegas was pretty unsettling

I don't really know if "Scary" is the right word for it.

>Spooky insane asylum (in hell) with pentagrams, madmen in straight jackets jumping at you, things crawling upside-down on the ceilings like horror movie things
>But instead of being like silent hill where you're running around shitting your pants you RIP AND TEAR THROUGH THE MADMEN WITH YOUR STAKE GUN AND LAWNMOWER ON A STICK while youtube.com/watch?v=Dn0PikMmyiY plays

arguably a horror game but
youtube.com/watch?v=WWet783dh3g

>RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

oh god my niggy. remember the endless hallway parts w/ your wife and baby screaming the whole time? fucked me up

I dont think it's fair to include a Horror themed level even though it's a non horror game.

It's 100% directly intentionally being spooky.

...

>tfw level 3
Going from "everything's fine" to "oh fuck" in about .4 seconds in one screenshot.

Republic Commando - Ghost ship
KotOR 2 - Korriban and Malachor V
Maybe not SO scary, but very atmospheric indeed.

...

This

These two by far.

>What's the worst that could happen in an insane asylum turned into an orphanage that burnt down
>0 enemies in the first area
>Still sticking to the shadows and sneaking around because of all the spooky noises
>Realize how stupid I am being
>Go to the 2nd part of the cradle
>Peak through a window on a door
>See a hallway with a flashing light
>A zombie somehow perfectly times his appearance and walking away with the flashing light to look extra spooky
>I freak out all over again

343 Guilty Spark from Halo CE, really good creepy kind of level, took me awhile to beat that level cause im a little bitch at scary games and Flood were scary. Not sure why but The Flood in Halo CE were just better than when they were in the sequels

>Levels with Undead in Tenchu games

Those levels always freaked me out as a kid. And to top it off
>Knife a zombie in the back
>It gets back up again and gives 0 shits
>panic.jpg

reminds me of that level in MGS2 when the Vampire dude escapes and all you see is blood trails and corpses in the hallway.

...

shale bridge is over rated, the enemies went down faster than baffords guards.

>"We got contacts, lots of them!"
>"T-they're not Covenant!"

A lot of stuff in Timesplitters is downright terrifying.

I hated Lavender Town as a kid, the music was just so eerie, along with fighting in a fucking pokemon graveyard and being attacked by unidentifiable ghosts

Oh shit I'd forgotten about that, you're right, it was pretty spooky.

The zombies cause the lights to flash

That ghost ship level spooked me good

How do I play Halo CE on a modern PC?
How do I play the Timesplitters games at all? There's none on PC, right? I'll need to emulate them?

>How do I play Halo CE on modern PC?

Get Halo Custom Edition. You'll have to download the campaign map files individually though. Maybe play SPV3 while you're at it.

Either that or just download the regular Combat Evolved, but Custom Edition has a lot of good modding support (FOV changes, more resolution options, etc.)

>SPV3
Looks interesting, but I don't know if it captures that original feel of the games. It kind of looks weird from the trailers I'm watching.

It is pretty scary, what gets me personally is how disgusting and miserable the enemies are. Most enemies are badass evil stereotypes, but Asylim features pathetic insane cripples who throw their bodies at you and crazy guys in straightjackets with some electric devices hooked up to them (a reference to shock treatment, no doubt) who spent their idle time beating their heads against the walls. It's macabre.

The ghost on that level still spooks me.

...

...

It's sort of a deviation from the original game while keeping the original design philosophy in mind. I think personally that while the visuals are a little wonky the gameplay feels excellent.

I never played that game but my /tg/ senses are tingling

Did you really have to link a let's play? Cringey shit.

I remember pussying out at this very moment as a kid

You're european aren't you?

Vault 22 was awesome too. I feel like all the vaults were pretty creepy, honestly, which is how they should be. They're weird portals to a horrifying time in human history, far underground and filled with god knows what in terms of residents after decades and decades of lying dormant.

This whole game was nightmare fuel after the first level
