It's been 14 years since a Bloody Roar game was made, and 17 years since the last good one was made.

10 years since the last NBA Street game was made.
10 years since the last Def Jam game was made, and since Icon fucking sucks, make it 13 years instead.
10 years since Dokapon Kingdom was released.
13 years since Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy was released.
11 years since God Hand was released.
13 years since Viewtiful Joe 2 was released.
I could go on and on.

The point is, step the fuck in line if you want to complain boyo, because there's plenty of other games out there that deserve sequels first. Then again, I'm just being a cynical fuck since these game series I absolutely love have been all but sorely forgotten, and that sucks dick.

But user, all of those franchises are long dead and, although good games, were nowhere near as big as Metroid. Metroid is one of the most famous game series of all time, and owned by one of the wealthiest companies in the world.

Don't get me wrong, i'd kill for God Hand 2 or Viewtiful Joe 3, but we both know that will never ever happen. Metroid is supposed to be one of the big three: Zelda, Mario, Metroid, that made Nintendo so succesful.

Prime doesn't need atmosphere, as Prime 2, Hunters and Prime 3 proved.

Not even a metroidfag, i played Fusion like 3 years ago on a GBA emulator and enjoyed it, so I went back to play Zero Mission and Super. Recently tried Prime, didn't like it as much, but i'm willing to give it another shot since maybe it's not aged well or something and takes some time to get going.

I'm planning to sit down with AM2R when I have some time to give it a nice long playthrough.

Metroid sadly hasn't been part of the big three since Prime 3. Which was 10 years ago. Nowadays, the big three consist of Mario, Zelda and Pokémon.

With development costs rising as far as they have, it makes sense that we haven't seen a new game in Metroid or any other risky Nintendo franchise. Only the most popular games in the series have even broken 1 million copies sold.

Metroid is microscopic compared to any other Nintendo franchise, and the most successful game in its entire series just managed to do pretty well for its time. An atmospheric handpainted 2D metroidvania its true fans want sells a couple hundred copies at most.

Some of those games aren't even a series of games. Some games are just a one time thing senpai. Metroid is also a bigger title than most of those, or was anyway. Are you seriously expecting a sequel to Psi-Ops?

Well, there's Fast Racing Neo/Fast Remix user.

I played it with an open mind and got bored after an hour. I didn't really extract any enjoyment out of it.

The control scheme was pretty good for a single stick FPS. That's pretty much the only positive I can give.
