>having tournaments for unreleased games
Why though? How the fuck are the contestants supposed to practice before the tourney starts?

It's a punching game.

What's it supposed to have?

Crying girls and quicktime events?

virtual on for the dreamcast has soul. arms doesn't.

It's an entire game based off of four fucking actions
>le punch
>le jump
>le guard
>le grab

>b-b-b-but it has depth!

Oh wow, sometimes the punches make you on fire and sometimes the punches make you electricity. The characters all play the same unlike all other fighting games. It would be like if street fighter 2 had 12 ryus, but this ryu jumped higher, and this ryu had a small dash move.

>that'll be 60 dollars plus tip to fucking punch each other in a square!

cucks

Tekken characters play the same.

Played the demo at the NY event, it was actually pretty fun and the original videos for it did not do it justice, granted there's been new content and changes from then, but I wouldn't say it's a bad game.

Though it probably won't sell well, as people will likely just hold out for Splatoon 2.

>It's an entire game based off of four fucking actions
Welcome to the fucking fighting genre.

>It's an entire game based off of four fucking actions

oh you poor, sweet, summer child....

Damn

Japanese sounds awful

>as people will likely just hold out for Splatoon 2.

That doesn't make sense

Why buy ARMs when people are most likely to be buying and playing Splatoon 2.

oh a trump supporter. That explains it. Low IQ and all.

it has kicks though
and each character is different enough to add depth

i mean if you say. i have nothing to back up the contraryy, so i guess we should all kill ouslefs

>every single switch launch game is gonna flop guys! Why buy Bomberman when people are gonna buy Zelda?

I want to _be_ Spring Man!
Is the theme on YouTube yet? Without the trailer stuff, I mean.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person thinking about Virtual On Ontario Tengram for the Dreamcast when watching this.

This actually kinda makes me excited for the game.

You people are so desperate to shit all over anything nintendo-related, it's both hilarious and really sad.

>VOOT
>being good
pick one dreamcast contrarian

>le
>b-b-b-
>cucks
the whole Sup Forums argument trifecta is here

That's not what I said at all you flaming faggot. I said ARMs was good and it's a shame it won't sell well because people will likely opt to buy the more popular, multiplayer game.

>I said Bomberman was good and it's a shame it won't sell well because people will likely opt to buy the more popular zelda game

That's what you sound like, retard

OP is just mad because he has no friends to play this with

The ARMS dev said Virtual On was a primary inspiration.

>It's a shame that people will opt to wait over a month for a game in a completely different genre instead of buying the game they can already get

Yeah that's not how it works

The characters look like they've been ripped straight out of a Dreamworks movie, I hate them.

Why does Sup Forums desperately want every game to be TORtanic?

but Minmin's phat ass

OP is a faggot

who yall maining!

>why do kids desperately want every game to be TORtanic
Fixed that for you

>soulless
Is there a more sure sign that a person has no argument?

Sup Forums thrives on shitposting.
TORtanic had to be the single most powerful shitposting event in the hystory of Sup Forums.
other than the goobergate shit at least.
no wonder Sup Forums wants another. Even though we have actual TORtanic events like battle born, and no mans sky.

>characters based on Osamu Tezuka's style look like dreamworks shit
No.

You posted him

wtf I like ASS now

So far I'm most looking forward to Ninjara and Min Min. That one blue robot on the loading screen might also be cool, who knows.

>ninjara
i hope hes nerfed to fuck. Cu the gameplay videos make him look monstrous.

>Wii U
What did they mean by this

Either spring man or minmin I feel like tho I might enjoy the class tank based master mummy

Ninjara looks cool, but he also seems broken and will most likely be nerfed. Ribbon Girl looks like she'd be fun to play, but I'm actually not a huge fan of how she looks. So I'll probably play Min Min.

oh look, a cry baby who still crying

>looks at HTTYD and KFP
>implying

I'm begging you leave it alone. We all did a good job avoiding that post, don't turn this into Sup Forums

Anyone have the secret character image? Any speculations on it? I think most theories I've seen on Sup Forums have been pretty likely

>All the ARMS fighters have spiral-shaped irises
>except for Mechanica who's just a regular human in a robot suit

What could it mean?

Well they all have natural spiral arms except mechanica, I completely agree with popular opinion that it indicates an ARMS gene. We see a laboratory with ARMS "people" in tubes, and we see the audience doesn't have ARMS. Maybe the fighters are genetic mutations or creations?

I like Ninjara, Master Mummy (don't care if he's bad), Min Min, and I'm interested in the masked guy. Not sure who to pick yet.

>41:20
>that fast-paced and fun gameplay
>and this is two players who barely played the game at all, just imagine what more experienced fights would look like
Fuck, I'm getting excited.

They are the X-Men except all of them have the same mutant power and they fight each other for our amusement.

It might be fun, but it's basically a fighting game. Maybe Nintendo's take on a fighting game. I just need to try it. A demo or something.

It's gonna be a quality game, user. We're in a glorious time for Nintendo

Mechanica is a normal human

Here you go.

I desperately hope they release a demo like splatoon 2 test fire

And think. They weren't even using the fast ARMS

Thanks user! Any thoughts on who they may be?

Why can't we ahve a legit boxing game, without the spring and long range nonsense

They'll 100% do this.

Punch out?

You think so?

Kevin the sea cucumber

Both Splatoon and Pokken had some form of demo. It would be hilariously dumb to not do one for ARMS

Oh

please no

everyone's gonna pick the ninja character

What a great time to be a Nintendo fan

>nintendo tries a different take on shooter games (splatoon)
>it succeeds
>nintendo tries a different take on fighting games

If ARMS actually succeeds just like how Splatoon did I'm going to flip out.

Looks good user.

I hope the regular controls aren't ass. Seeing the game not sure how you're supposed to curve punches and such with one. Looks like it might be fun if they get the real controller to not be awkward to play this game with.
As far as actual competitive depth, I don't see it right now.

>all this shitposting over an unreleased Nintendo's new IP
Is splatoon again.

The only thing I care about right now is the potential for Minmin and/or Ribbon Girl art. Preferably both.

I can't imagine the reach of a fighting game is very large these days. Especially in the game environment as it is. A 1v1 experience will turn off a lot of players who don't persevere through failure. Splatoon's take was unique in that you didn't have to be any good at killing the other team. All you had to do was paint turf to contribute to a win.

I'm not sure what's going on in ARMS that makes it too different from a basic fighting game.

There's no way ARMS isn't gonna be a success. It's already been shown that Nintendo actually gives a fuck about advertising it, and I'm sure it'll get a bundle at some point. The people making ARMS have also literally never had a game that flopped

ARMS is gonna blow the fuck out of SFV in terms of sales and it'll be fucking glorious

>everyone wants to use standard controls as opposed to motion controls
Watch it be just like Splatoon where motion controls are actually mandatory for you to git gud, just like how the gyroscope was mandatory for Splatoon.

My best guess is you launch arms with triggers, steer with joysticks, and jump/dash with the face buttons

Except the entire cast is Dhalsim instead of Ryu.

obviously you are redneck.

But the gyroscope felt very natural to use, it wasn't obnoxious wiimote flailing. I've played ARMS and the motion controls feel the same way. They don't require much more movement than what you would use on a fight stick.

So it's not like Wii Sports boxing? That's good to hear.
What else can you tell me? Were the controls any good?

So do you think Nintendo is going to make posters of the fucking awesome art?

Yeah something like that, the issue is that you can throw both punches, aim them in different directions while jumping and air dashing in any direction all at the same. This is conceivable in a shallower game with motion controls or even half-assed traditional controls. But ARMS is trying to sell itself as a game with some depth but I feel with just this style of motion controls the game will fail and the actions can be too varied for a control to handle well compared to motion controls.

Because Sup Forums dont play videogames, we spend more time writing Sup Forums.

...

If anyone seriously doesn't want to try this game they should probably just stop gaming.

This game just looks fun as fuck.

too many people are caught up in consolewar/masterrace shit

>STILL no clean version of the main theme

I'LL NEVER STOP BITCHING. WHERE THE FUCK IS IT?

I'm waiting for them to show all the characters but so far Min Min because I want to eat her ramen pubes and taste her broth

Master Mummy fucking heals up while guarding I'm actually afrain he'll be too good.

Christ I hope so. I would frame that shit

>People actually said that these characters looked bland

How the fuck could anyone think of? These are EASILY the best new character designs of 2017. I still can't wrap my head around how fucking stellar the art direction of ARMS is

What do you think the game will have on its release? Will there be a story mode? Will there be even more arms they haven't shown so far? Will there be more gamemodes than just 1v1, like 2v2 or 4 player FFA?

I'm 100000% with you man

They've confirmed single player, we've seen 2v2 gameplay. There's gonna be plenty.

I think it'll be 10-15 characters on launch, then DLC down the line.

Other than the Colgate toothpaste guy, I'll have to agree with you there.

seriously what were they thinking?
i like the character design but i just simply can't get over that blue hair

I only played six round total, which probably adds up to like eight minutes playtime total. Character movement felt weird, but that was entirely me not being used to the controls. Pretty much every video shows faster gameplay than what I could muster. Throwing punches is both easy and responsive. Ninjara's chakram turn on a dime and will do pretty anything you want them to. S shaped trajectories are easily doable. They over exaggerate the arm movement in the Switch trailers. Every motion is possible with a very slight flick of the wrist.

Their names are bland.

I think we will see a number of new things announced at e3. What better way to hype the game than at e3 1 fucking day before it releases?

The hair looks less goofy when you try to look at it as a pompadour.

Now imagine Kirby with that hair in Smash V

So?

>Master Mummy
>Min Min
>bland

Nothing, just saying, it's a shame because I really do like their designs.

THIS MY NIGGA

Very helpful insight, user. Have an internet
