Skill tree in Skyrim was pretty decent. Make the combat more innovative, build upon weapon crafting, make edibles more useful. Make exploration dangerous and exciting. Implement mounted warbears that can be used in battle.

Let's go back to Morrowing, but take out a few of the needless rolls during combat. Make the setting interesting, make the dialogue not shit, make the world full of interesting side quests that aren't just dungeon delving for the twenty third time and fighting your equivalent of zombies. Imo the lore in TES is alright.
