Dev was some fedora wearing faggot. He promised an entire series, game was backed by kickstarter. Dev made the first episode then took the money and ran.

That's a bit too abridged. The developer contracted some guy to do some art for his game, who turned out to be someone from Sup Forums and leaked the unfinished version of File #1. Unsurprisingly, this really pissed off the developer and threw him way off his original plans, so he ran off into hiding with only the occasional sign of life.
