Bearer of the curse seek the.. ... Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin thread

I've been meaning to replay the game since i sold my PS3 cioy and the video defending DS2 made me crave it, I've always enjoyed 2 more than 1 and i haven't played 3 or finished BB yet.

bump

you won't get actual discussion like this, soulsfags only enjoy arguing about arbitrary rankings

that's a shame.

You should play it on PC instead

the emeral herald is hot as fuck

Bearer of the curse seek...sex

I keep thinking about playing through the game with the spear in the stone, without breaking the stone off, how feasible is this?

>Dark Souls II threads

Pretty feasible. I used that thing for almost the entire game during my no bonfire lit run, since it's the only weapon that never breaks. The stone part did eventually fall off, though.

I thought what people liked about souls is that you can just git gud instead of grinding souls.
Why play a souls game where shields are crap and you can't even dodge well without grinding up that adaptability stat?

>There is no Emerald Herald set
>Female characters still have broad shoulders

>be me, 2014
>buy ds2 because it was a pre release sale on g2a
>play the holy living fuck out of it
>never played a souls game, takes me 200 hours to win
>summer comes
>family gets evicted
>move to shitty hotel that lets us pay like 700$ a month
>only thing I wanted to take with me was pc
>continue playing ds2
>find other kid my age in similar situation living at the hotel
>he's broasfucktier.gif
>typical tumblr type, only owns nintendo ds
>within weeks were showing up at each other's rooms and spending the day playing pc
>show him ds2
>he names his first character "egg mc muffin"
>bright blue skin like sonic
>spend entire summer talking him through the game
>helps us forget how shitty our lives and parents are
>teach him how to parry, infuse, use crows,
>he teaches me about Tumblr
>to this day the best months of my life
>couple months later summers over
>don't see each other much anymore
>still comes over for ds2 though
>mom gets job states away
>have to leave suddenly because she starts the next day
>never see friend again
>last conversation was about basilisks being bullshit
>never did beat mirror knight
>years later still have egg mcmuffin on my hard drive sitting at the castle bonfire where he left off

After that I can never have a negative feeling about this game, no matter how bad it may be.

i really fucking miss you sam but I can't stand tumblr and you really need steam you fucking faggot

Oh well if it's no bonfire that makes sense but since I'll be playinh normally I'll be rocking all the way

But user, I played it on release in full Ironclad armour and had no problems, I didn't even think about Adap.

Nice fake sob-story.

>110+ Agility builds
Its like having a permanent Dark Wood Grain Ring

Holy shit, there's a stat that increases your I-frame? I played through the whole game and didn't even touch that shit

Leafs, fuck off my board

i beated DS2 like 8 times before i knew that aswell, never really had a problem since it was my first souls game

Pools of blood are the greatest thing From ever made. Playing this game on launch day was a fucking treat.

Anyone have a different/better variant of my picture for Dark Souls 2? 1 and 3 have really good ones and this was all I could find. also rollan

why blood covenant is so shit?
why you lose rank in that covenant if you lose match?
why theres no soul memory restrictions in that covenant so high levels cant kill low levels?

But I'm not shitposting, now tell me what your favorite weapon is or I'll eat this poutine very loudly.

>basement full of bloodstains
>one skeleton

Started replaying DaS2:Scholar about a week ago.

It's still fun, but I forgot how much I hate the feeling of "I've fallen behind" if you don't manage to get your souls reclaimed when you die (due to the Soul Memory shit). It's almost always somewhere in the Iron Keep it happens first, and everything there is worth a lot of souls compared to earlier parts. Such a bad mechanic.

I missed power stance and a number of the spells, though. Wish those were brought into 3.

Also, Sin was done so much better in this game. They should've brought that over as well, and gave Blues a Blue Orb to invade heavy sinners.

Yup. Adaptability and Attunement contribute to Agility (though Adaptability contributes to it at like 3 times the rate of Attunement).

You'd have to have Agility of like 96 to have normal DaS1 iFrames (and 99 for DaS3 fatrolling, 105 for DaS 3 normal rolling... oh, by the way, the iFrames in DaS 3 is absolutely fucking retarded and too good).

I played my first character in DaS2 without leveling up adp at all, it's not that bad, you get used to the roll timing

>I forgot how much I hate the feeling of "I've fallen behind" if you don't manage to get your souls reclaimed when you die
It's just a feeling fueled by autism, user. The brackets are huge and everyone ends up in the 2M+ bracket eventually anyway. You can't actually fall behind in any way. The only legitimately bad thing that can happen is if you get boosted too far ahead by a cheater phantom who gives you millions of souls.

UGS builds are pretty much the worst builds in DaS2 right?

i absolutely dislikde ds2 like many others, but i think it's more memorable than ds3 desu pham.

At least its something on its own you know? Not like that rehash shit in ds3

>ultragolfswords
>worst

I'm still fucking mad they nerfed the knockup on those things. Still fun af.

Not really at the Iron Keep point. You can lose around 60-80k souls by accident really easily, and the tier gap is only about 100k at the point your around there.

Tier difference for multiplayer is generally about 1 tier away down and 3 tiers up, so yeah... you can easily accidentally fall away from other people at certain parts of the game.

Is the double speed bug fixed on pc? I originally finished the game with the bug, some parts weren't fun

>After that I can never have a negative feeling about this game, no matter how bad it may be.

I'm not a big ds2 fan (I prefer all the other games in the series basically) however I do still like it and the first 20hrs I spent with the game were great, just after that I found it very boring for whatever reason, I can never bring myself to outright hate it because of that first 20hrs.

Soul Memory really was the most shitty thing they ever thought up.

If they really wanted to go that route, it should have only counted souls that were actually spent.

Soul Memory was a good thing. It beats the hell out of 3's fucking retarded weapon rank based matchmaking system.

>dark souls 2

In all the meta ranges 120 to 200 UGS builds were shit, golfswings weren't that good anyway. All about the RoBFlynn builds, can't make any decent UGS builds with only 9-12 VIT.

>Soul Memory was a good thing.
Congrats, you're one of maybe 3 people who honestly believe this.

>Soul Memory was a good thing

Anything that moves the game away from arbitrary community metas is a good thing. It also kept invasions alive far longer than the other two games could manage.

3's weapon rank based system is only retarded because it always considers the highest upgraded weapon you've owned, even if you aren't using it or have it in your inventory. If they made it to where placing it into the box or dropping it made the game look only at whatever is in your inventory it would be a lot better.

Dark Souls 1 is comfiest Souls. Love just walking around hearing the clank of my armor

Dark Souls 2 had best multiplayer. All the wacky builds and looks people could do were great fun. Best fashion Souls as well.

Bloodborne was fast fun with great atmosphere. Felt very action gamey zipping around and parrying.

Dark Souks 3 I'm not sure how I feel. I think I been burned out on Souls games by this point and never gave it my all.

>mansion is filled with fucking bloodpools
>think theirs something like a fucking chimera or something down there
>its a singluar skeleton just sitting in the dark
wew lad

>Burn bonfire to max
>Basement has an army of skeletons

This shit is just silly

I can't believe they never brought pools back for 3

>Pool of blood near a jump
>Watch 6 phantoms all drop to their deaths together

Every time it gets me

>mfw two shot by the pigs
>cant even fight back because you swing just slightly above them
>achievement unlocked: welcome to darksouls

I had so much fun with my Blue Flame 'red mage' back in the day. It's a real shame that it's only really possible in 2.

Royal Soldier set as best.

It's too bad the Faraam set isn't that good. It still looks good and in 3 it's great.

Can you not do sorcery/miracle builds very well in 3? I thought there were a few items that let you sub Faith for Int on Sorcery spells, or items that let you cast both types of spells.

It is possible but anything that's not hitting the enemy with a weapon is pretty weak, at the end of the game sorcery/miracle/pyromance becomes 'decent'. It never pays off.

Agreed, i had to revert back to being a greatswordfag cause miracles are so weak.

You still wreck face if you go pure sorcery in DS3. Cystal Soul Spear is the boss melter.

Just did my first play through of 2 doing RoB Flynn rapier. It was a little boring for me. What's the most fun, interesting, or novel build you've ever completed the game with?

Well, i guess i could go to Rosaria for a stat reset. Though whacking things with a big sword is still as effective as ever.

A dual wielder fag with 2 katanas.

only in PVE, they're fucking useless against players, though pyromancy has a few gimmicks it can get away with

I could never commit in any of the Souls games to do a pure sorcery build.

Someone gift me DS2:SOTFS on steam

steam name: foam

Thanks

you have to be 18 or older to post on this website

I've been doing a little bit of a thought experiment lately trying to find out what the max damage on a single attack could be. I was thinking dude w/ 99 in all stats, +10 malformed skull, RTSR, flynn's ring, leo ring, third dragon ring, brightbug, dragon torso stone +3, sunset staff +10, sacred oath and resonant weapon and then a friend with a channeler's trident
Is there anything else that could do more damage? Like, say, 99 int + climax?

typical no shield spin to win faglord

I'm 27 years old son, old enough to be your sexy girlfriend with a feminine penis

>malformed skull with leo ring

Post your comfiest areas

Already killed the queen and took a shit on the throne

What do I do now?

Can't you whore yourself to get the money to buy the game?

Dark Souls 2 was objectively better than Dark Souls. And Vendrick is kino.

Isn't malformed skull piercing damage?

Just do yourself a favor and grab a strike damage weapon early on. Save yourself the frustration. There are like 2 enemies in the game with any strike damage resistance, you'll be able to two-shot almost everything with a 2h club

Do anything you might have missed. Like Darklurker or Ancient Dragon.

Or do the DLCs. they're fun

...

Post builds, homos.

No, it's a greathammer, so it's strike damage.

Take part in the only NG+ Fromsoft put any actually effort into in the entire series.

>level 232
>"build"

gr8 b8 m8

>he uses a shield
Holy bad

show benis/pucc and ill gift it you slut

Don't tell me you autists pvp with this. I don't go on these threads to get angry

This. DS2 has the only actual NG+

I can enjoy DS2 if I don't really consider it a sequel. Its like Dark Souls Gaiden, but certainly interesting how it talks about the curse of the undead.

>pvp
PvP in a souls game is like singleplayer in Condition Zero.

DS2 was the comfiest of the trilogy, but after playing so much DS3 I can't go back to the janky controls of DS2. But I'll always remember it fondly.

Yep. Never lost a pvp battle.

t. sucks at PvP

Bearer of the curse, seek, seek, lest

This game is impossible

LMAO, let me guess, you go to iron bridge to play with other trash players or get matched with sl150s in BoB arena? That build is absolute ass and anyone with the knowledge and more than 10 hours in the game could push your shit in.

>pretty much the worst builds
Not when you can do 900+ damage on a normal R1, not counting for counter hits or engraved gauntlets

...

That makes it fun

>he locks on in groups

her heart pupil is too cute for this world

I like to replay ds2 as a different build each time
One thing is for sure, I don't take the green bar for granted in this vs ds3 or bloodborne.
