Are there any good VN besides AA/Danganronpa?

Are there any good VN besides AA/Danganronpa?

I only know about this thing because it's in Nitroplus Blasterz

Katawa Shoujo.

Nekopara

Tsukihime

FUNIMORI

Steins;Gate

Hotel dusk

...

are visual novels video games?

Triangle Blue.

Persona games

Fate, Tsukihime, Majikoi, Higurashi, Umineko, Utawarerumono, Muv-Luv, Steins;Gate, Ever 17, Clannad, Little Busters, Sengoku Rance, Sharin no Kuni

Are shitposters even people?

999 has point and click stuff but is pretty much a VN.
Anything but nekopara

House in Fata Morgana. More people need to read it. It's even on Steam and it's easily piratable. I don't care how you obtain it, play it.

higurashi and umineko

>Are there any good VN-
no

Definitely not pic related

He did nothing wrong

>Danganronpa

The original Danganronpa aka Higurashi. Butt it's old and really fucking slow so I suggest Umineko first which is the best novel I've ever read so far.

AA is garbage, not even baiting

I pity the fool that hasn't played Steins Gate.

Best VN incoming.

...

What does Sup Forums think of Demonbane?

>not typing the name properly

I pirated it. How is it? The art style is weird

(((stein)))'s gate

>Danganronpa
>good

It's "Stein is gate" you newfag

...

Why they make middle age men always so menacing looks so damn crazy compared to the kawaii uguu faces too in the game

All these posts and no Kara No Shoujo

...

Unironically, Monster Girl Quest

Type-Moon VNs are usually pretty good.

I also liked Analogue: A Hate Story, even though its not Japnese

yes

It's good. The artstyle is charming, and even if you don't like it much, the artstyle is the way it is because of artistic expression rather than as some anti-anime art statement. The story undeniably benefited from having the particular artstyle it chose, which should be something most can appreciate even if the art turns them off.

It also has the cutest VN heroine despite(or because) of that. She's fucking moe once you get far enough. And the story is a lot like Umineko. It's a bit more straightforward and the nuances are different, I can't say it's a successor or a complementary work to Umineko, regardless of whether you hold a high opinion of Umineko or not, but it's in a similar vein and is similarly worth trying out at least.

Best chuuni VN ever made. I really hope DI measures up to it.

FUCKING MEAT VISION.

...

Remember that Please Bang My Wife is the best VN ever made.

thank you.

Fuminori did nothing wrong.

Fate/stay night, Grisaia series, G-Senjou no Maou, Little Busters, Muv Luv Trilogy (mostly Alternative), Dies irae, Rance series, Koihime Musou, and Utawarerumono.

he did LITERALLY EVERYTHING wrong.

You forgot the part where Fuminori kills himself by splitting his face in half with an axe, and how Saya gets fucking rekt son.

I don't blame him for the things he did.

The ones that have actual gameplay are. And Steam sells pretty much anything now, like anime and software, so even the visual novels that don't have gameplay make sense to be sold on the store.

Everyone should play Catagra and Kara no Shoujo

I've always wanted to check it and Cartagra out. Is it boring? The VN does look kind of dreary style wise.

I'm all for visual novels but god damn do they have to be full retail price?
Does SteinsGate 0 really have to be 60 dollars?
(I realize it's on sale right now, but still)

I dread to think how much Silver Case is gonna cost on PS4

Most full VNs are 60+ hours long and features more voice acting than 10 seasons of anime combined. The "high" cost is for licensing fees. It's why localization is pretty much dead for anything but tiny VNs.

>best novel I've ever read
The best novel, or the best visual novel? I sure as fuck hope you didn't mean the former.

I've finished
Tsukihime
FSN
Majikoi
YMK
KoiChoco
Saya no Uta
Katawa Shoujo

and the only one I would not recommend to any degree is Majikoi. Saya is a must read, YMK is good, rest I have reservations recommending, but Majikoi is nuclear waste that I only finished because of the variety in fuckable girls.

I'm pretty sure its even worse in japan in terms of price.

Umineko is literally the best visual novel and nothing has topped it yet.

SubaHibi is almost out, right guys?

It would be if ending was not so shitty.
I'm still angry Gen butchered it in the end.

I didn't personally enjoy Cartagra that much but KnS is among my favorite VNs. The pacing is kind of slow at times but if you like well written crime fiction then you'll probably like it.

You can preorder The Silver Case on PS4 for $30 or $50 for the Limited Edition.

The pricing is due to it being a niche genre that has a limited following. I doubt they'll get much cheaper launch prices due to Steam sales already cutting many prices in half.

>1 dollar for each hour of entertainment is bad

Basically in both, murders occur and you're a detective trying to find the culrpit. Lots of fucked up shit happens and the payoff is great like chopping up people and inserting an egg up the vagoo and stuff

wtf is this filename

>saya no uta isnt dark enough for me
SAY NO MORE, FAMALAM

...

Isn't the average price of VN's in Japan rather expensive compared to the rest of the world?

Chiru would like to have a word with you

How does Sup Forums feel about Euphoria?

yes

Chiru was kino, and it's sad that a lot of people won't realize that.

Umineko as a whole is a work that demands something from the readers, and sadly, a lot of the readers can't meet those demands.

Trash

Thanks for the play-by-play, Natsuki. Japanese writers sure are talented and set that natural tone for most of their work.

Rereading this VN hurts so much you wouldn't believe.

Completely unfappable except Rinne's route. Had a great story except the second half of Rinne's route.

>Completely unfappable except Rinne's route
Wow you sure have bad taste.

>Completely unfappable
>Great story
Never ever post again.

>I'M HAVING DIARRHEA IN MY DIAPEEEERRRRRR!

classy.

If I want a good scat game I have Starless or Eroge, Euphoria was just disgusting.

Part 3 of the the suffering never ever.

Catagra and KnS are great, the atmosphere of both, the false little sense of accomplisment and security when you discover the first killer in Kns and the comfynes of Catagra.

But KnS 2 had to happen, although it have an interesting story, the killer was way too obvious and is discovered in 2/3 of the game so you have 1/3 of the game about almost nothing. Dont take me wrong it would have worked as a standalone game but not as a KnS, the name exists only because of the last 10 min in the TRUE Ending

>Muv-Luv

>no censor

>VNs
>good
Have some self respect and read a fucking book.

@374256739

>MUH BOOK!!! ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_;
Kill yourself.

Not knowing how to quote.

What are you trying to do?

Trying to make /d/ play Muv-Luv I guess.

@374256967
>giving (you)s to shitposters

Go and play Nocturnal Illusion. It's considered a classic, and fits perfectly with an Anons mentality.

>Not knowing how to greentext

Shame on both of you, desu
