FUCKING PIRATES THIS IS YOUR FAULT
YOU BLEW IT
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Stop this.
Holy shit user it's like people had six years to play and finish this fucking game already and don't see a reason to buy it twice
100k sales for such an old game is pretty impressive
it's not a bad number it's only 6 days and it's pretty old game
did you even look at the OP pic?
Aren't you suppose to wait two weeks before relying on Steam Spy numbers?
>port the game suddenly, release it the same day its announced
>no denuvo protection, cracked within half an hour
PC was a mistake
>cracked within half an hour
>still sell 100k+ for a fucking old game
denuvo has 0 (zero, nil) influence on sales numbers.
I don't know why I find anime girls photoshopped hugging politicians so damn funny.
Am I supposed to be SUPER IMPRESSED with 100k sales like it's monumental or something? Make a point with fuckin' words instead of memery.
>OMG 100K THAT'S LIKE A REALLY BIG NUMBER
protip: it's not
>6 years old game
>zero advertisment
WOOW WHY DIDN'T IT GET ANY SALES
>100k sales on one week
>eight year old game
VANQUISH
HERE
WE
GO
Well there goes any chance of Sega paying Nintendo for the rights to port Bayo 2 to PC. Stay losing, sonybros.
They're lucky people are buying an 8 year old game at all.
>100k*20$=2 million $
>30% cut to Valve+VAT and other shit, so let's say 60% received=1,2 million $ profit
>from a game that was released 7 years ago
protip: it is
>tfw kamiya and mikami were the only actual good devs at Platinum and mikami left because whatever stupid reason and got owned by Zenimax
And pc fags wonder why they don't get any games
Wait, what? They ported Bayonetta?
How the fuck did I not hear of this until now? When did they announce it? How come I haven't seen golden faces threads?
>tfw mikami's best work is non-horror games but he keeps making horror games because they sell
There was a countdown that started on April Fools Day that was linked in an 8 bit Bayonetta game they released on Steam on that day. It was only released like a week ago.
Are you guys mentally retarded?
A eight year old game, no marketing, simply dropped on steam after a April first joke?
This is insane, in 2009 it sold 135,242 on the PS3 on japan first week.
This is amazing numbers for something like that.
100k sales at 20$ for an 8 y.o. game
That's a huge amount.
Consider that's also 14*100k = 1,400,000 $ in cash for the publisher. If they spent more than that in porting said 8 y.o. game, they don't deserve any income.
A month
Because golden face is old hat, but there was ton of bitching/gloating threads the day of.
Don't know how you missed it.
Yes, and it will remain available to purchase digitally, requiring very little investment to keep it available and will continue to sell for the foreseeable future as people realize it's there and that it's good.
Hooray for PC! No first week is all that matters console sales models that are responsible for AAA vomit with huge advertising budgets!
I think the confusion in this thread is that OP forgot the NOT part in ITS NOT WOR-.
OP delete this one and start a new one.
The sales are great but you're literally attracting fags who don't know how to look at sales numbers like
>tfw I get to play vanquish with kb+m
The fucked up thing on the bayo port that the loading screen is so fast I can't open up the training mode
This must be bait. Wow 100k sales, Meanwhile the game has already been pirated 300k time (see TPB). They lost 6 million USD right there porting it to PC.
I hope devs realize that the PC is a mistake.
>This is insane, in 2009 it sold 135,242 on the PS3 on japan first week.
That's japan-only sales, not worldwide unlike Steam. It's also only 1 system, 360 was still more popular than PS3 in 2009.
That was probably a $70 or $80 pricetag (considering it's the japanese version we're talking about here) while Steam it's $20. So even when we shave off those estra 35k sales and ignore the rest of the world and the 360 version - if Bayo sold 100k on consoles that would still be 300% to 400% of the profit compared to the Steam version. It would need to sell 400k on Steam to match those week 1 japanese PS3 sales alone.
I also don't find it impressive at all when someone boasts about DarkSouls1 PC sales, when I know most people got it for $7.5 or something
>lost
They lost nothing. You really think those people were going to buy it?
OP here, that is actually what happened, but it's hilarious to see how many idiots here are ready to jump onto anything, and even pretend that 100k sales in 1 week without any marketing is not amazing
>They lost 6 million USD right there porting it to PC.
what did he mean by this?
>They lost 6 million USD right
1. Prove it
2. If it cost a company 6 million dollars to make a sub par pc port then they are a garbage company.
All games are developed on PC, theres no excuse for not being able to port it without spending that much money
>They lost 6 million USD right there porting it to PC
The game costs $20. If 300k pirates pirated it, that means the developer lost $6 million in sales.
Replying to poster No. 374255486
On april's fools, the port is very solid.
Nothing that you just posted matter.
It still a eight year old game, you're trying to make all this argument comparing to when it was a new release in the high point of the last generation.
Also for the Dark Souls part.
You're full of shit, again.
The PS4 version is coming out in May anyway.
I'd rather play that.
It means they may have lost some sales, but you can't quantify how many. Those 300K pirates would not have all bought it. Lots of people pirate because they are poor, because they simply don't care/won't spend money on their hobby, or because they're literal children.
>when I know most people got it for $7.5 or something
Retard.
Thats not how that works you retard. Pirates do not subtract from your costs at all.
This has to be a troll post, there is no way anyone is this retarded
I'm stupid what does this graph mean exactly?
>This must be bait.
i dont know why everyone's responding to you after you telegraphed this fact so conspicuously
>tfw you click the torrent button on tpb and directly steal from the developers' lunch money
Truly the best feeling.
The intelligence of the average Sup Forumsirgin is in the single digits.
>i literally dont understand how pirating works: the post
People who pirate games werent going to buy it in the first place
>I literally don't understand jokes: the post
...
It's a 6 year old niche game.
Were you expecting it to sell 3 million copies in it's first week?
see
You're a dumb motherfucker.
And you're just mad you have to pay for going online in your shit console.
>OP confirms accident turned bait
>People still falling for it
lol
I thought the term "lunch money" was obvious enough. I'm both a pirate and working for a game company
Why wait to play a lesser version unless you have no real pc?
...
so 100000 compared to 1M from console owners? so the massive PC gamers numbers couldn't even bother to buy it?
Ban steamspy threads.
Ban candle jack knock off threads.
>100k sales in 6 days for a 10 year old game
FUKKEN PCFATS HOW DARE THEY D—
Kill yourself OP.
look at all these ass blasted console keks
>lost
You really don't know shit, do you?
getting 100,000 sales for basically no work is fucking amazing
>but its hard to port a game
It requires 1 skilled programmer or 50 indians compared to giantbomb.com
>what didn't go to valve was profit with no overhead
I suppose they got the port fairies to port it for them for free and do a damn good job of it
There is no way you don't have some sort of social disorder.
Yes. I use an NVMe drive, can't even see the loading screen.
>100k people buying a 6 year old port of a shitty game
>without a sale
pretty good. PC is a profitable platform and even the gooks know it now
Sega is horrible at advertising. Shocking
>wooooooooooooooooooooooow 100k on a "system" with billions of users
So you prove him right? is a 20 dollar tag dumbass
>i...it doesnt matter
Yes of course it does dont you fags always claim to have the bigger userbase more than consoles?
>pretty good. PC is a profitable platform and even the gooks know it now
Is a profitable platform they need to trow old ports for cheap money
Damn i really glad that facts just destroyed your ass so hard that you can't even do math anymore.
How mad can you even be for that?
Not everyone likes these types of games. And the game is old as hell and they already probably cannibalized a lot of sales by not releasing a PC version for 8 years. 8 year old ports in my opinion don't deserve any money and I wish people would stop encouraging this bullshit.
>denuvo has 0 (zero, nil) influence on sales numbers.
It makes me not buy the game, so it does influence pirates.
we're not desperate for games fag
If you want your game to stand the test of time you gotta put it on p.c
In 5 more years, How many consumers are gonna be buying/playing a 360 era game. If they do they will be getting used and devs don't see any of that money
Having it ported to p.c ensure that they will have steady stream of sales and give people access to the game forever.
does anyone have that cuhrayzee games chart?
trying to see if I missed playing any
>people have been crying for Bayonetta on PC for YEARS
>game is finally released
>barely anyone plays it, people just download it
yeah.......PC gaming is most alive right?
This is the reason nobody makes games for the PC anymore.
>M&K for super fast gameplay
>no weird as fuck blur
I WANT IT SEGA
I want this more than Bayonetta desu
Seems like a game that might work well on KB+M
>Only 100k sales
>At most 20$ per sale
>Steam takes their 40% cut
>1.2 million goes to the developer
>Legal expenses
>Pay workers
>pay utilities
>MAYBE 800k profit
>Worth it
Niggers really need to understand that this shit is pittance. 1 million is not a worthwhile return to a company you do understand that, they're thinking within the global worth of the company, they're not thinking from the perspective of a middle class single adult male living within his means.
>make console exclusive
>8 years later port it to PC
>surprised that it doesn't sell as well as a new game
>repeat the process with your next game
Ahh, the Japanese development cycle. Although it's more retards on Sup Forums that talk about it not selling release numbers rather than the dev or pub.
>>still sell 100k+
>still
What did she mean by "still"? 100k is garbage regardless of any other criteria.
It's apparently good enough because people keep making these late-ass ports.
100k is pretty good for an almost decade old game released with no marketing. If devs want better sales they need to make a PC port when the hype is fresh. It probably still wouldn't sell as well as on consoles but it would sell a million or so, maybe more.
That's weird, because you sure seem to sign a lot of fucking petitions begging for them.
to be fair bayonetta was released 8 years ago. Anyone who wanted to play it likely already found a way to, or has since lost interest. Porting shit this late after its initial release isn't going to garner the same attention and sales that releasing it closer to the initial release date would have.
what did you expect? no Denuvo instant pirate. Thats what happens PC gamers are pirates and cheat in online games like pussies.Shits fuckin infested.
>owners left axis
>price right axis
>price and total units sold on the same axis
>tfw you think graphs are impressive but have absolutely no idea how they work
>It's apparently good enough
No, its not. That's like saying ZYZZIX road was apparently a good movie since movies are still being made. Garbage is Garbage, regardless of the fact ports still exist.
>100k is pretty good
No, its not. You're nothing thinking at a corporate level.
That's more than it sold on XBox when it was released.
That's almost as much as it sold on the PS3 when it was released.
Why do retards like you always talk as if you have any fucking clue what you're going on about?
Tbh that's just grey, blurry Max Payne gameplay.
And yet it still was good enough to be ported.
Do you honestly think Sega expected console like sales?
>That's more than it sold on XBox when it was released.
And then the sequel ended up not being on the fucking xbox. Funny how things work huh? Thanks for confirming my point, you dumb fucking nigger.
you really think this port of a 8 year old game was hard to make or was a drain on resources? and since it's on Steam it's going to have to available for a long time, companies know this and are looking at the long term.
>And yet it still was good enough to be ported.
>They knew how much the port sold before the port was made.
Are you retarded by any chance?
>Thinks magically come into existence.
Maybe you should get a job?
>a port of an Xbox360 game from 9 years ago isn't pushing millions of sales
>40% cut
this show how much you know about what are you talking about and this is a port not a new game faggot
>b-but the p-petitions
And then it went on to fail on the Wii U.
Guess Sega/Platinum just wants people to play it, sales be damned.
Where have you been for the past week, there was constantly at least one thread up
