>A real villain with an actual interesting motive
>Buddies that don't take the game from Easy Mode to "Just give me the controller" Mode
>More than two maps that don't consist of "Big hallways" and "Brown wasteland" (No pun intended)
>Not giving the player the two best weapons in the game by default
>Ability to tackle missions OSP
>No psychic soldiers who are ALL alerted to your exact location the moment one man spots you without even radioing it in
>No "YOU are Biggu Bossu :D"
>Snake should have more than 8 lines
>Jet attacks Pequod on the way back form the Quiet fight. Snake quite literally doesn't make one fucking SOUND. Not even one single grunt.
>MP that isn't garbage
>Not shoehorning the FOB's onto players who don't want to deal with them
>Camo index. As it stands there's only two options and none of the colors have any effect on your visibility
>AI with some semblance of intelligence
>Less attack choppers added to normal missions to bolster "difficulty"
>BAWS GIT DAHN
>More to the world than the occasional outpost with NOTHING in between them
>Something to do on MB other than smack my men
>Any content at all
>An ending would be nice

The list could go on for miles, honestly. MGSV is probably the worst entry in the series.

Phenomenal engine and fluidity in the movement, tons of options

They just forgot to add a game around all of it

>Something to do on MB other than smack my men

M-maybe we could leave that in, user?

There's just one answer. This. Kojima produced succesful games when he had the time, i wont say good games, because everybody on Sup Forums would fuck me up, but very succesful games. If Konami gave him a little more time, than we would have one of the greatest games ever created. I know that they gave him a huge amount of money and didnt want to anymore, but the unfisnished MGS V brought Konami more money they could ever imagine.

I loved the game as it is today to be honest.

Sry for my english.

Cancelling it.

Regardless of it's mistakes (lack of closure to the series) it is one of the most amazing games I have ever played.

Quickest 100 hours i have ever seen go by.

Watching Konami make HD cutscenes of MGS3 for goddamn pachinko is just about the worst too! What a timeline!

This

The game is already great. The videogame community are just a bunch of entitled man babies who care the most about the most petty things in life.

Also, move on.

I'm curious as to the appeal the game has on you

being set in a populated area, at least some buildings instead of acres of high definition rocks, who would want to traverse such bland empty spaces?
it feels even worse having such great engine running so fucking good but not being taken advantage of.
It's like playing the beta of that furry melee combat thing people used to spam here.

Really I found the game an absolute chore to get through, especially once you reach Africa

Third chapter

Missions that werent repetitive

Better customizations of everything

The ability to fuck both Quiet, or any of the other female staff (you want it too, don't lie)

Be able to take the battle gear out yourself to fuck shit up

A smarter D-Walker

High ranked fultoned soldiers not disappearing from Motherbase

More shit to do at Motherbase

More vehicles

Piloting helicopters

Fultoning enemy helicopters

Modular difficulty
Penalization for fultoning. Anything.
Another year of development
Actual characters in a functioning world
Switch Afghanistan and Africa into something better than maps that are 70% desert or grass

it is great nigga

just more 2deep4u kojima nonsense senpai

Playing as Big Boss and being a ruthless heartless bastard, killing child soldiers and your own men. The game the trailers depicted.

coop
a finished story that actually makes big boss a bad guy
memorable boss fights and characters
something to fucking do on mother base besides a mini game
better level design
enemies that dont give up on finding you when you leave their line of sight
enemies escalating their hunt for you the long you operate on one of the AORs
having snake interact with people face to face, yes the tapes give you info but thats a shitty way to tell a story
more fleshed out or even playable outer ops
multiplayer that didnt encourge running around as fast as possible

the game was fun but i was expecting alot more, i shouldnt have gotten my hopes up

Or make it linear like the previous games

Deus Ex style would have been best.

MGSV is the best game ever made.

Coherent storyline with a credible enemy
Quiet not hurting the storyline with her mere existence
Hard mode
More unique enemies appearing in free roam
Co-op in the single player

More boss fights.

>Quiet not hurting the storyline
How did the character hurt it?

The inherent game design was flawed. The only thing that would have made it better was if it was a completely different game and designed completely differently.

That being said, I enjoyed it, but it was heavily flawed.

>having the last hour or two of the game being released would have made the rest of the game (50+ hours) better
Not how it works. The game would have been the same repetitive missions grindy empty bullshit regardless of if it had the map where you fight Liquid or not.

>Muh cutscenes
Game was finished, meng

She knows a bunch of useful things well before anyone else does. But she can't speak because muh throat parasites.

But nothing stops her from picking up a pen and writing it down. Instead she proceeds to spend the entire game acting like an autistic retard.

a story that made me want to play more than the first couple hours.

Solid snake, Frank yaeger, actually big boss, young sniper wolf, young vulcan raven, ocelots old voice, basically just a big fat fan service to 1

If they re-released a HD version of MGS4 on the ps4 instead

A non empty open world
Actual bosses
Non retconned characters

Its a video game, youre taking a make believe story too seriously.

did people really played this for the story?

I skipped every cutscene, I just wanted more tactical espionage action.

>But nothing stops her from picking up a pen and writing it down. Instead she proceeds to spend the entire game acting like an autistic retard.

Game's ruined for me. Story wise, of course, the gameplay is still God-like

Doesn't really change the validity of the critique. The game itself wants me to take it seriously. Kojomo always goes on about his deep themes and storyline and shit, so I would expect him to get the bare essentials of a sensible narrative down.

This. Why the fuck didn't she just write something in the dirt or on a notepad?

David Hayter.

David pls go write a screenplay or something.

Because she's le conflicted

omg this.

>Doesn't really change the validity of the critique.
Sure it does. If you sit there and think too hard about minor shit, you won't enjoy it. Ocelot tells you she wont communicate with anyone, not even writing, you have to remember, she tried killing Venom at the very beginning of the game, everyone on the base sees her as an enemy, Kaz wants to kill her the entire game... everyone's suspicious of her, she's suspicious of everyone.

If youre the type that sees some character in a game or movie that does some supernatural shit like Quiet's abilities and complains that "that wouldn't happen irl", you wont enjoy it.

Its fake, not real, youre not supposed to take it dead seriously.

Sure buddy, Liquid story arc running away with the niggers and the monkey-gear was closed and clear.

It makes sense if you remember Eli knew about venom at that point, also MGS2 reference.

>a video game with a bunch of impossible shit happening in it that would never happen in real life
>The game itself wants me to take it seriously

This doesn't change the validity either. I'm not going to shut off my brain selectively to enable the narrative to start making sense. She's OK talking with Code Talker and betraying her boss 'cause she's apparently "in love with the legend," but she can't be damned to write down anything useful at all? Not even in secret? Not in any context?

It's just never addressed. Kojomo made a mistake. The real reason is probably 'cause you can kill her--the epitome of a pointless choice--so they kept her influence on the story minimal.

Haven't you seen the unfinished sequence? The duplicated missions? The game isn't finished, period.

Still great though, probably my favourite after MGS1 for personal reasons.

>never play any of the games in the series
>pick up MGSV to try and get into it
>What is this story why

Ridiculous shit or not Kojima is definitely trying to portray a cohesive narrative meant to be taken seriously despite the larger-than-life elements. He's been doing that since the first one.

i enjoyed mgsv a lot

The game having more copy-paste missions and a cutscene explaining what happened with Liquid and Sally wouldn't have made the game any better.

V's plot is completely inessential to the story of the series. Playing the other games would help understand a bit but this game could have not been made and it wouldn't have affected the overall story.

Game's already great. It's just not the game everyone (myself included) wanted.

Anyone else have strange things happen on their favorite RPG Games? Here's something that happened on my main Oblivon (Elder Scrolls IV) save once. It's a long read but I think it's worth it.

So in Oblivion there's an item called the Skull of Corruption, which you can use to clone NPCs. Using a glitch, you can use it to permanently clone yourself.

When I discovered this glitch online, I had already played Oblivion to exhaustion. My character, Nickies, a Breton battlemage, was nigh-invulnerable, and had spells that could one hit Minotaurs. It was pretty crazy, but it got boring fast. I decided the only challenge left was to fight a version of myself, a permanent clone, a "Nickies Black," if you will.

So I did the glitch, purposefully not wearing my best gear as to make sure I can still win, but couldn't immediately kill the clone because his (my) healing spells were too potent. So, I left and returned, to see what would happen to him.

He had changed his equipment loadout to that of my own, real character's, including all my OP shit. Now I actually couldn't kill him...

Not only that, but he started upchucking a creepy mix of faction dialogue I haven't heard before, like "I'm sworn to die, are you?" and "The training of thousands has passed through me!"

Sometimes he would use my invisibility spells and flee, and I'd have to find him again. One time I found an entire town murdered, with him nearby. I even got bounties when I swore I didn't commit any crimes. Once I led him over a bayou to an underwater DLC home I had, and he equipped my waterwalking boots to easily keep pace - then, when I fled underwater, he swam under with me despite wearing said boots!

Other oddities include his Luck seemingly being higher for everything he did compared to my own, and being able to summon two things at once (which was actually IMPOSSIBLE in Oblivion).

Eventually our endless fight led into the Imperial City, the capital.

When it comes down to it, story issues or not, the only thing I really want it is a Hard mode. Ground Zeroes had it. The only flaw with TPP is that it gets way too easy too fast.

Thankfully the PC version can mod it pretty good to make it much harder, but I feel bad for console bros.

oblivion sux

>I'm not going to shut off my brain selectively to enable the narrative to start making sense.
Sweet, keep on being that Negative Nancy that never enjoys entertainment because make believe is stupid

>It's just never addressed
Sure it was, but it wasnt good enough for you.

I think it was great as it was honestly. Not perfect but still great.

1) it was finished
2) the story was actually interesting/engaging instead of mostly just being a bunch of pointless incidental bullshit
3) having interesting characters. For fucks sake, they even managed to make Ocelot boring.
4) more cutscenes instead of just lazily giving you audio tapes because they didn't feel like making actual scenes.
5) more complex levels beyond "outpost that consists of some shacks and a guard tower". I kept expecting to see more areas that were akin to actual military bases with properly fleshed-out interiors and such.
6) mission designs that are more than just "go in and either kill/extract the target"
7) enemies that actually could pose a threat. One of the main problems of MGSV is with its very mechanics. You can take too much punishment, and your ability to go full Terminator and just run around killing everyone with no regard for stealth means that the idea of actually playing it AS A STEALTH GAME is merely a self-imposed challenge.
8) rebalance the game to actually make alternative/innovate playstyles viable. The game has all these tech trees and interesting items you can use. But the problem is there's really no point to any of them, since the most efficient way to play the game (if you're bothering with stealth at all) is to just circle the perimeter of the outpost, tranq/CQC everyone one by one, and fulton everyone out.
9) completely get rid of the motherbase and resource grinding bullshit. All it does it turn the game into a grind by saying "if you want to get any items, you NEED to play the game as mentioned above and go around fultoning everyone". Make items available through the game itself.

Think that's everything

It wasn't necessary. It was just one last attempt to milk the series.

I've never tried any mods. I'll have to look into it. As it is, MGSV only has self-imposed challenges instead of an actual hard mode, which is lackluster, to say the least.

actuall boss fights, besides all the problems the game had, the lack of those quirky boss fights made the game feel souless

a better fanbase and a better director

Stop trying to construct a strawman to duck what I'm saying. Make believe is stupid =/= the story has a big hole that is never addressed. "Bro just ignore the minor (actually major) story issues" is literally not an argument; it's a tacit acknowledgement that there is a flaw you're simply choosing to overlook. Plenty of stories exist that don't require you to overlook significant flaws.

Ocelot mentions they brought her stuff to write, maps, etc, but she never trusted Ocelot. She inexplicably is OK with Code Talker. She is apparently in love with Venom and willing to betray her allies, kill for him, and protect him, but can't be damned to give you a single helping hand in other regards. But she thinks it's reasonable to tackle a dude and try to gut his mouth with a knife.

Even if you accept their explanation in full, it's flimsy and in no way helps the story.

That's what I'm saying. I was told it was pretty detached from the series but the story didn't grab me at all.

Having a story that actually matters to the series as a whole, telling it not just through audiotapes and the odd cutscene every ten mission and having a greater variety in locations and missions.

Also do something about these sideops. Either replace them with anything other than tedious busywork or remove them entirely.

Yup. I kept expecting a reveal of a quirky boss squad like in all other MGS games. Only until Africa did I realize that the retarded zombie squad WAS supposed to be this game's version. What a letdown.

And it's not just the lack of cool bosses. There are no interesting personalities anywhere. Neither the people on Snake's side OR the enemies. The story is essentially nonexistent, with some audio logs thrown at you every once in a while to pay lipservice to the idea that the game even has a story. Might as well just be a hodgepodge of random missions. Save the translator here. Blow up the oil refinery there. It's all bullshit.

Probably would've helped if they released those "special" weapons to singleplayer at a reasonable pace.
The Fulton Carl Gustav just got here this morning.
And it takes a day to build

Not constructing anything, im just stating fact. You cant help but take things that arent real too seriously, and in the process, you ignore everything else and dont get it.

>b-b-but she could w-write
And say what? "Oh, the reason I dont speak is because I'm infected with a Skull Face's third virus strain that targets all you english speaking people." Kaz wants her dead before she even stepped foot on motherbase, how long do you think she'd stay alive if everyone on the base knows she's infected with the third stain Skull Face had for his plan?

Again, you cant help but take everything entirely too seriously and youre unable to use your brain to piece things together.

Considering Venom is willing to put everything on the line to trust her and he's the boss, absolutely nothing is stopping her from directly communicating vital information to him and only him. Likewise, nothing is stopping her from translating through Code Talker.

Has nothing to do with shutting my brain off or "not taking things seriously," it stands out like a sore thumb. And it only stands out because they inexplicably wanted to make recruiting her a choice, so they had to accommodate people who shot her in the head and thus zero out her influence on the plot. Had she been a mandatory character, I'm willing to bet this would have come up.

Are there any good mods for this game?

>absolutely nothing is stopping her from directly communicating vital information to him and only him
Again, youre not getting it.

When you first encounter Quiet in the sniping battle, she's not trying to kill you, shes warning you to stay away, she takes warning shots at you and lets you know shes fucking serious when you see her enable her laser. Then when you defeat her, she tries to commit suicide with her side arm. Why is that? She worked for Skull Face, remember? She ended up dying after she got lit on fire and fell out the window, He brought her back with the virus, remember how code talker said it mimics organs like lungs and shit? Remember they found her lungs were destroyed with the charred flower petal?

After being resurrected, she went awol from Skull Face, out on her own taking out soldiers and shit. She knew she was infected and chose to stay away from people, but Venom beats her and brings her back to motherbase, basically doing Skull Face's job for him. She tried to commit suicide to keep the english strain from infecting english people

Canon ending coming through youtube.com/watch?v=OvYkv-uNQPE&
