He didn't keep Arsene

>He didn't keep Arsene

>He keeps starting Personas

Why handicap yourself?

>starting persona becomes obsolete halfway through the first dungeon

Why do they keep doing this

I didn't. It's my first persona but I could already tell that persona level up waaaay slower than the human characters, and you get EXP bursts for fusing and you can just resummon any persona you've gotten AND eventually get a function to sacrifice personas to raise another's EXP without fusing. If I ever want to use Arsene again I'll just do that. Which I won't cause there are too many qt shadow girls to fuse and use

At least Orpheus and Izanagi had useful elements. There's like 1 enemy whose weak to Darkness in the entire first dungeon.

I can re-summon him for 1,000 yen. Why would I bother holding on to him?

how?

he has terrible attributes. why would you keep that faggot?

Oh boy...

I had to fuse him for the fusion tutorial because the only thing I could make that was my level involved him.

Don't they make a point of telling you this during the whole Velvet Room tutorial? Resummon shit you've registered in the Registry.

As per every persona, their useless until NG+

Thanks. I have short attention problem.

what is the purpose of being able to equip armour or accessories for Futaba?

>People claiming he becomes useless.
So people just get rid of him before Guillotine function?

You can power him up with all sorts of useless ass persona's!

I wish he was good. I wish there was some sort of function to keep him semi relevant throughout the game.

I was forced to fuse him in the obligatory fusion.

Never bothered with the guillotne, too busy fusing max confidant personas for 5 level bursts.

Is it worth it at any point? I don't get attached until the highest end persona

>oh user, you'll have to execute personas now and we won't take no for an answer
>let's mix your fucking demon looking asshole with a shitty pixie to get a piece of shit in a cup

I never keep the beginning ones. I don't care. The best Personas are the ones that you have to fuse anyway.

To be fair, this game makes it easier than ever to stick with a Persona you like despite it being outdated, with Gallows Fusion, Treasure Demons, and Skill Cards. But that always just comes down to pure Autism Mode, when the far more sensible thing to do would be to just fuse and strengthen something at your current level.

Is there a way to make a good Arsene?

yeah, fuse him with a pixie

Gallow execute shit into his body until he becomes broken.

You can enhance a persona once with Guillotine and even then: His stats are awful, literally any other persona will do better.

>B-But he looks cool!

>he didn't capture other personas before that

Stupid.

I was forced to use him as fusion material and then I wasn't paying attention to the resummoning until way too late.

I feel bad about it every day desu

I've seen a arsene with megidolaon, almighty boost, almighty amp and magic ability, 99 in MA/EN/AG. I think that one will destroy almost everything.

Sounds more like the Satanael screenshot.

No, it was a jap guy who did it.

Guillotine can make your persona 20 levels higher than you if you want and it's god-send to attain most persona last skill without grinding.

>Orpheus
>useful elements

Except for that part where one of you party members has the exact same element as you.

But his elements are still shit.

Who needs elements if you nuke 90% of the game into another dimension on your first turn?

>they give you the coolest looking persona from the start
>it's shit

I electrified that nigga and stole his cane

I fucked up all of the negotiations when you first learn how and so I was forced to use him during the fusion tutorial.

Which also meant that he didn't get registered in the compendium, so he'd start at level 1. Didn't feel like releveling him. Besides, the novelty of keeping Arsene was lost the moment I fused him the first time. Maybe next playthrough.

Every single time.

>the way MC runs on the treadmill
i'm dying

Satanael is cooler, so that evens out

>forced fusion
I'd have kept him if I could

WENGER OUT

Not him but I started on Merciless difficulty and didn't learn until some time later that it locked me out of hold ups and opportunities to capture personas. Plus 0.4 exp and gold, what the fuck is this, it's certainly not difficulty adjustment.

They make you fuse him in the first encounter with the twins do they not?

>You can enhance a persona once with Guillotine
>he doesnt know

Does anything change when you reach the Casino escape in the present and still have him from the beginning?

I know if you don't he still emerges and talks to you but I don't know if it'd be any different if you never got rid of him

Shit that sounds useful. I got stuck in earlier persona mode and grinded those goddamned angels to get their last skills.

Yeah, he comes out and says "Shouldn't you have me fused with a Pixie?"

You could've just captured something else before that

or just resummon him for pocket change

Not if you catch something else.

The only reason to keep Orpheus around is for Cadenza.

I think giving her luck boosting items makes her abilities trigger more

You can use Gallows until you run out of money to pull your personas out of the compendium. The limit does not persist after you remove a Persona from your team even if you register them beforehand.

Further, Gallows lets you manipulate which stats points go into as you level up. For Arsene, even if you're not autistic enough to get perfect, singe stat point distributions you can still get him to exceed end game personas in under an hour.
It's actually harder to do this with high level personas because you have fewer levels to manipulate.

He gives you a Sonichu medallion for your autism

Ham roll, blud

You'll just forget it again in half an hour.

>Messiah and Izanagi-no-okami look like the respective MC's original persona
>Satanael looks nothing like Arsene
boo

That shit was really lame, especially since Arsene looks pretty cool.

>Looks nothing like

Look at him again, especially the face shape

Neither Yu nor Minato saved the world, though. Their issues are small-scale compared to what Akira has to go through. Of course he's gonna get the 100ft Mecha Angel.

I did capture several other personas, but I wasn't a high enough level to fuse anything except ones including Arsene. I was fucking livid.

What? Both of them dealt with crisis that would have taken over the world if they didn't intervene

>Saving humanity from death.
>small-scale.

>Minato didnt save the world
>Nyx came down to eat everything and end the universe to reboot it

Excuse me? I'll agree with yu, but Mi most certainly saved the world

but i did

>Minato didnt save the world
Excuse me?

What a waste of a good design. I never liked the persona mechanics due to this. Too much shitty looking ones and so few good ones.

then make the good looking ones stronger trough the various methods, it's not rocket science

>78 Agi
>28 Luck

How?

I used Arsene a bit on Fly boy's dungeon vs. the Angel packs, actually.
Also, making the starter persona better with skill cards is kind of a hobby for me.

I wish they just made Arsene a permanent Persona that you can't remove, but gave him skills all the way up to level 99, tossing him away like any other monster just seems silly considering he's supposed to represent the awakening of your true self in the metaverse

then again this is what keeps the game going, constantly replacing, fusing and sacrificing the monsters you encounter in the world.

still holding on to Izanagi though, since I didn't get to use him enough in P4

Yu saved the world too since the mist was going to spread through the world

I'll be honest, I mostly forgot P3's plot because it was terrible. Sorry guys. There was something about scientists and you fight Nyx. And Minato is a door or something.

When you say locked out, do you mean because of the increased critical/weakness damage?

Also Merciless seems like the worst difficulty mode ever. Aside from being incredibly tedious, it just makes the game more crit-heavy and dependent on RNG.

It was just Evangelion with stands

>P3's plot was terrible

You could just say you had shit taste and be done with it.

This thread is a meme right? Mostly curious at the serious responses.

The whole point of this game is that it doesn't play like a normal RPG

Leveling up a Persona to be on par with your progress in the game is nearly impossible and not something meant to be done.

This is where the unique aspect of Persona's gameplay - Social Links - comes in.

By increasing your Social Links, you can now fuse together Persona's that will immediately gain an experience bonus - Those 5 hours or 5000 experience you needed to learn that move in 3 levels? Learned instantly.

This is how the game is meant to be played. You work on your social links, and from that you can take low-leveled personas and fuse them into not just a high-level Persona, but a high-level Persona that starts leveling into it's move base - something that can be done with dungeon grinding but will take much, much longer and is only really helpful as a supplement or bonus.

So keeping Arsene besides for some kind of sentimental reason is absolutely idiotic, obviously. I don't see how the Persona could keep up unless you spent unfathomable amounts of time into leveling it up.

Cancer threads?

That would make the Wild Card completely useless. That said, I wouldn't have minded sticking with the Sub-Persona system from Persona Q.

Something tells me you're the exact kind of hipster who boxes their starter in pokemon just to be a contrarian faggot

>he doesn't autism a demon/persona he likes to the end

>autism: the post

Kek...no because in Pokemon the starters are basically OP where in Persona your starter is weak.

still too many points in AG. You can still salvage this just fine though since Ma is actually ideally low for a gun Arsene but make sure he doesn't have any level ups more convoluted than ST/EN/LU going forward
also you need Snipe, get rid of null phys. may also want to invest in Riot Gun since your Lu is kind of fucked if you can't get it above 40

That still a shit-tier level 78 persona though, you have so much to cover and in the and you only have Oneshoot kill, nosnipe, no apt-pupil and low tier stats (for a lvl 78).
Good effort but it's not worth it when you're 4 level short of something like Odin.

Guillotine

If your starter was a ratatta you can bet your sweet ass most people would box that shit.

Wonga out

When I first got into the series I was quite attached to each Persona I got but quickly got over that

Nah, i did it for fun, i'm not that autistic. Game is easy as it is in the later parts, no need to make it easier with broken shit

A Rattata that never evolved, didn't naturally learn anything beyond Quick Attack, and was weak against Water for some reason. But to be fair, you'd still have people EV-training it and teaching it TMs while claiming that it's totally viable for end-game.

Yeesh, the reaper gives fuck all xp

At around 85 you get like 1,5 levelups from him, then back to five minutes of waiting

But I'm too jewish to pay the twins for highlevel fusions

>Arsene isn't viable for end-game
Shitter spotted.

I guess it depends on which game you started with, but since Nocturne was my first SMT game with demon-capturing elements (DDS was my real first), it was drilled in my head very early on that these things are not Pokemon. You aren't gonna win anything by showing them affection and raising them with care. These are a bunch of craven little shits that are only hanging out with you because you bribed, threatened, and cajoled them after six others took your Life Stones and ran off, and they're meant to be exploited and then disposed of as soon as they aren't useful anymore.

Other games, SMTIV in particular, made it more viable to get attached to specific ones, but that attitude is still rooted deep in me. I can't imagine the mindset that someone would have if they started with SMT1, where demons didn't even level up, demanded constant feeding, and abandoned you if your alignment changed. I'd just delete the fuckers out of spite.

Going to try and autism out both Arsene and Thanatos for my own enjoyment - which one becomes the Curse caster, and which becomes Almighty?

P3-5 takes place in the same universe. Why didn't yaldablabla-something pimp slap nyx and izanami for trying to start shit on his turf?

To be fair, Orpheus was legitimately useful thanks to Cadenza. Though it'd pay to refuse that shit with some better spells the first chance you got.

It was far easier to raise and max out stats in Persona 3 remakes and Persona 4 than it is in Persona 5.

He probably could, he imprisoned Igor after all.

Because it's not really any superior to Izanami. In P5, it's the embodiment for humanity's desire for order.
