D3 was a pile of shit even after RoS tried to fix it and people still play PoE. Plus it's getting a massive update soon with 6 new acts.

PoE feels more unrewarding in both combat and progression, since it's all based around trading. Really you're praying you get exalted orbs rather than the items you need.

PoE vs Diablo 3 threads are always great because they are proof of how casual Sup Forums actually is.
The majority of people here are anything BUT hardcore.

PoE has deeper skill builds and systems with more freedom on character builds, but ultimately only a handful are viable end game.

Diablo 3 feels much better to play with combat being much more satisfying and ultimately having way better art assets.

Never played D3 but PoE is pretty fucking good.
I love the dark atmosphere, lore you find along the way, diversity in classes.. and it's all free (and not even pay to win).

The only downside I see in PoE is that it's campaign is pretty short, but that should be fixed in next huge update.

The thing is Hack n Slash genre is kinda niche thing that is enjoyed by specific few and hated by the rest. The same thing applies to Dynasty Warriors for example.

Diablo 3 made the combat actually fun and dynamic, and people who wouldn't usually play that kind of games found it fun. It didn't please the actual fans of the genre, but at least it expanded it to have decent gameplay.

PoE is amazing, considerably better than D3.
The only issue I have with it is trading being annoying as balls.

I'm okay with bartering and not using a single currency, but this overly convoluted system they have in place to actually execute a trade is something I can't stand after a while.

poe combat is dictated by your build, not by the encounter. certain bosses require you to focus fire or kill things evenly, but d3 is just glowing floors: the game.

if you want a class that deftly dodges around and attacking with higher effect from certain sides, etc, you can make that, and it'll work. if you want an easy faceroll build, that'll clear maps faster, but if you cant avoid damage and control combat then youll brickwall

I'd say stash tabs are buying a gameplay advantage. Someone with 100 stash tabs can play a lot more efficiently than someone with 4, who has to spend more time dicking around with recipes instead of mapping or just ignore stuff like chaos and glassblower recipes.
