A new speedrun to collect everything takes over two days to fully explore Hyrule

>A new speedrun to collect everything takes over two days to fully explore Hyrule.
>Xalikah is a French language speedrunner who undertook the massive task of completing the first 100% of Breath of the Wild. The run, which seeks to collect all of the game’s key items and collectables, is a sprawling affair. Coming in at forty nine hours, nine minutes, and forty one seconds, Xalikah scurries about Hyrule to hunt for hidden items, complete the game’s various puzzles shrines, and finish all side quests before finally defeating Ganon.

Apologize.

How long until someone dies trying to do this?

>put 3000 hidden coins and 3500 hidden rule34 drawings all across map
>you must find them all to 100% it btw ;)
>speedrun takes 50 hours

A quick google tells me that 100% skyrim can take ~400 hours. Doesn't mean it's 8 times better.

someone submit this for AGDQ

>can take
The topic is speed run, not normal play time.

Whats the shortest its been 100%? (Is there even an "official" 100%?)

Shame about the gameplay, level design and story.

Shame about your virginity

>want the game
>don't want the crappy console(s)

What the fuck else would I even play on it/them

Apologize for what? people will find a bug or something in the game that let them skip 90% of the game just like always

CEMU you idiot

Speedruns works in categories user, any% are usually the most boring

I dont have a PC either so whoopdiedoo

But that crappy console is running and playing the game you want to play so, obviously its not too crappy if a game of it caught your eye.

I bought a PS4 mainly because of Bloodborne but after that found multiple other games to play

Literally what else would I play if I bought a switch

>whine about having to buy a console
>doesn't have a pc

Come on now son.

This is a 100% speedrun you retard, the any% speedrun is about 40 minutes since in this game you can go directly to ganon and beat it if you are good enough.

Its not about the money or anything, I could buy the best gaming PC ever made and it wouldn't hurt my wallet too much at all.

I just dont buy things that I don't see myself using. Zelda looks decent but it doesn't look omg-lets-buy-a-console decent. So yeah, see this post

speedruns are usually done in segments.

The time is segmented for comparison during hte progression, the run itself is done in one sitting

Apologize for what? that a collectathon takes a long time? that a big pointless open world allows you to waste a big chunk of time? not like thats how its fucking designed or anything.

apologize for what? playing the game properly and not as fast as possible?

speedrunning is the most autistic shit in the world

Is this supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing?

apologize-for-whatmind

use cemu

>90% of those hours are spent traveling from point A to B

I can believe people unironically shit talk about Zelda's gameplay. Shit is godly.

>this is an arguement against BotW

90% of any game is travelling from point A to point B

Apologize for what? Our daddy taught us not to be ashamed of our dicks

I'm still glad that Nintendo decided to make this gif a reality.

I think it's good. You are free to go and try to beat the game at any time and if you fail, everything else you do feels like training for it.

??

No Man's Sky takes 6267 years to 100% complete, does this mean that it's the best game ever made?

Buy a used Wii U, play BotW, then sell it.

I'm still salty that Link has multiple great chances to say "Well excuse me, princess!" in BotW but never does.

Including korok seeds?

Can't wait to see how refined All Shrines will be in a few years

Yes

>collecting everything in a collect-a-ton takes a long time
Who would have known

...

>tried to clear a shrine using bomb jump
>it actually works
i like this game

>3 hearts
>zooms in
>2 hearts

>48 hours spent finding all the items for the golden piece of shit in your inventory

Probably cut his first try out of embarrassment.

So?
BotW is still mediocre at best and a snooze fest at it's worst.

The beginning of the game is the best part and that's ALWAYS a bad sign in game design because after the beginning it's just a slog in hopes you can get that feeling again like an addict would after his first high.

BotW's whole fucking gameplay and fun rides off of it's openworld completely overwhelming you with mystery but after you figure out where you are and what you need to do and where you need to go which is roughly 10 hours into the game then it becomes a fucking collect-a-thon of shrines and korok seeds.

Weapon durability in the game is an atrocious thing in the game and no one can convince me otherwise. It is literally not worth using your actual good weapons half the time until it's very late-game and you have almost max hearts and stamina. This pushed me specifically to just not fight or engage in the combat at all for like 90% of the game because it literally was not worth my time and resources in the game.

The story was abysmal. The world is simply too fucking big, there's no reason why I have to spend roughly 5 fucking minutes at a time just to get up a glorified hill. The combat is atrocious and the voice acting was horrid.

Literally the only things the game does right is art style and immersion which both wear themselves out after a few hours which is why I say that the best part of BotW is the Great Plateau and the first few hours after you get down. After that the whole game turns into a fucking collect-a-thon.

MGS5 even with it's shitty open-world, still was more engaging and fun because of the numerous ways you could fuck with the enemies.

In BotW, the moment you run out of arrows or your bow breaks, fun's over.

100% huh?
Does this inclued upgrading all armor. Even the amiibo ones?

10/10

>first ever "speedrun" when he doesn't even know where all the items are yet
Yeah come back to me in 2 years when some autist literally knows every single thing on the map and finishes the whole game to 100% in 5 hours

bBa bla bla bla.
Have a (You) and go play your shitty lineal moviegames.

why wouldn't it, damage boosting is a very normal technique

hmm really only needs the first 3 panels

>MUH MINIMALISM

...

i fucking love this game.

*tip massive virgin like fedora in a quick but respectful fashion towards your direction*

Yeah how dare anyone love a game? What a fucking faggot, huh, fellow Sup Forumsirgin.

>muh poop joke

...

11 minutes to come up with that response, k y s

Just browsing the thread my friend. Maybe if you knew how to check the ip count you'd know.

You don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about, just so you know

Are those shit already implemented in the all shrines run?

For what?

I always thought BoTW was a masterpiece and Sup Forums were just being stupid contrarians

Did you really type out all that shit that nobody is going to read?

The game is still going to win every award going and will still be talked about in 20 years, which is the same amount of time it will take for the ass sting to go away.

This game is the second coming of Super Metroid skips.

ignore shitposters. breath of the wild gameplay has been praised by many developers. some nigger on Sup Forums doesn't count

>Go directly to Ganon
Surely this is an exaggeration?

Nope. The game gives you just one objective: beat Ganon.

You can do it rigt away but you will probably get raped. The game can last 1 hour or 200 hours. It's up to you.

What I meant was: surely you are exaggerating and by "go directly to Ganon" you meant that there are several unintended skips you can make to get to him at the beginning of the game rather than the door to his boss room is accessible to anyone from the very beginning and is not gated behind anything at all, right?

Only slightly. You have to do the four shrines on the Plateau to get the paraglider, but after that you can in fact go directly to Ganon. Speedrunners still take a detour through a bunch of rooms in Hyrule Castle to stock up on strong weapons, bows and arrows to actually be able to DEFEAT Ganon

All you need to do is get the glider, raid Hyrule castle and slap his shit

The only mandatory progression gate is getting the paraglider from the King on the Plateau, which requires you completing the four shrines that give you your standard runes. At any point after that you can head over to Hyrule Castle and defeat Ganon.

You are required to do the first tower and first 4 shrines to get the paraglider, which amounts to 1% of all the game or less. Besides that you can do whatever the fuck you want even going directly to ganon. The fastest any% speedruns are around 40 minutes long.

Why would you die?

RIP Narcissa :(

>but after you figure out where you are and what you need to do and where you need to go which is roughly 10 hours into the game then it becomes a fucking collect-a-thon

Then go beat Ganon and BAM game over you won and you satisfied your ADD gen z little brain with 8% of the games content.

Doing nothing but playing a video game for two days straight isn't particularly good for your health, and video game speedrunners aren't particularly known for their strong physical capabilities in the first place. It's entirely possible a speedrunner attempting a one sitting 100% Zelda run could have a heart attack from a Red Bull overdose and die.

kids read articles about dota/starcraft koreans getting deep vein thrombosis and strokes from gaming for too long

>mfw I haven't even completed it once yet let alone doing it fast

It's fucking huge.

It's only a matter of time really.

Hentai is gud

They'll probably accept it because it's Zelda

Wouldn't mind having a two days straight Zelda run in the corner as other runs are played on the big screen

That hasn't been true for a very long time.

>do something
>pause game to change shit
>do something
>pause game again to change shit
>do something

Don't get me wrong, I do think the actual gameplay and freedom in BotW is great, but the constant menu usage in this game is massively pissing me off. Why the fuck do I have to open a menu for everything I want to do and why does it have to pause the game every time, it's like the water temple wasn't bad enough. It completely breaks the flow of the game and ruins the enjoyment for me. Inventory management is complete ass in this game.

JAV is gud

agreed, it's shit. It became a bit easier when I found out there is a sort button

>medicine is for kids
Oh Sup Forums

>Speedrunning.

Autismogize.

That's the quick menu tho. It "pauses" the game as long as you keep pressed the key. That shit doesn't bother that much, switching armors, on the other hand, is kinda annoying.

>stand up/switch seating position every once in awhile during speed run
>don't die
Wow that was hard.

Go back and play Link to the Past. Having to open the menu for every single item swap took forever.
Compared to that, BotW has very fast and responsive menus.

You just described

>all of the gbc zelda games
>alttp
>oot

3DPD hags are fucking disgusting.
End yourself.

Alright, as you requested i will end myself
But only after you check this goji youtube.com/watch?v=WH59EZgI56k
I mean, look at him!

>doesn't have a console or PC
>can't play any video games worth a damn
>posts on a video game board

Yeah, okay. I'm done. I am SO done.

Switching seating position isn't gonna do much, and neither just standing up for a minute, you would have to keep standing up for 40-50 minutes, then seat 40-50 minutes and repeat to reduce the risk for thrombosis, And who is gonna do that? I assure you nobody.
If you really wanna do something more significant you should wear compression socks instead.

Exactly. Seeing how BotW tried to modernize the franchise it just completely boggles my mind that they went with such an archaic design choice. Of course it's faster but it's still completely annoying, quick menu or not.

There are games out there that have 300 hour speed runs, so 2 days isn't bad in that sense

Nobody dies from that except like one chink in a million.
I've sat that long and I'm fine.

>wasting two full days of my time is supposed to be a good thing

It would only take half that time if you didn't have all those barren fields to keep walking through. A bigger map isn't always better. OoT will always remain the best Zelda (and probably game) of all time and it's map was super tiny. It got straight to the point and didn't pad it out.
