PlayStation 4 doesn't need any more ga-
It hurts, user.
>First game was important to Sony because it was the first game to use of the dualshock controller.
>It was a successful game but they dropped it for a while until Ubisoft localizes AE2.
>Another success, making Sony thinking they could do anything with this IP.
>Forms a good trilogy like other PlayStation series only to be 40% of the series, with the rest being spin offs in different genres.
>Most of those spin offs aren't even good and the ones that are are mostly in japan only.
>The "alternate" series being this idea showing that Sony had no idea what the fuck Ape Escape even was, which may have given the series a bit of an identity crysis.
>No proper remaster compilation, just awkward PSP port and PAL AE2 in PSN.
>Monkey cameos in other games showing Sony thought it was the only thing people liked about the series.
>Website pretending to be an official source of news about the series was never truly fact checked.
>One of the main characters was brought into a weird crossover to show what the series actually was, only to be one of the weakest characters and get a shitty looking model.
>A trailer for Puppeteer celebrarting the history of Japan Studio showed some of their games, with Ape Escape being only represented by the last game, which was the shitty PS Move title, rather than the first game, which might as well be the studio's first game ever.
>A true sequel was planned since the third game and 10 years later, it was the year of the monkey, making Sony do a little jab and AE, only to end the year with a reveal for a sequel to a series nobody likes.
>That planned fourth sequel fans keep asking for was dropped in favor for the shit spin off that was the last game in the series.
>No one is making an interesting fan project or even acknowledging its abuse.
>Anime was never in the US, so they got a shitty flash cartoon instead.
>There were even 3 mobile games about Spike, Yumi and card games but were lost.
Ape Escape was too good for this world
And then they went on to make Knack and Knack 2.
And all because the director of that series worked on the design of the PS4.
fucking hell
Imagine Ashley and Yumi together
What did they mean by this?
>That horrible show Nickelodeon tried to make
>The monkeys change facial expressions
>One of its writers was the creator of Earthworm Jim
>hating pal version
I prefer my characters to not sound like ash and misty thanks. Seriously though. Ntsc voices for one and two were dogshit
A fate worse than death
Someone make this please
You can't be serious, were there any decent jokes or something?
It was made by frederator iirc, premiered in 2009 too which is pretty weird because the series was dead at that point game wise.
I just want more AE art
I don't remember, i just heard this from someone else.
>There were anons who payed money to certain artists for Aki lewds
>They never delievered
It's like god is an asshole and wants Ape Escape to suffer
AE2 was my favorite game as a kid. If they made another I would immediately buy a PS4
Anyone remember that post about an AE title being called AE: Recapture?
Million Monkeys is the only game I've ever imported and I bought one of those stupid slide tools so I could play it
I like the alternate series idea, you have one series that's normal gameplay with lighthearted stories about Specter and then you have the other series with evil A.I., alien attacks, mass destruction, and that one scientist literally getting strangled and dying due to one of his monkeys turning on him
Shame they never focused much on both versions of the series but instead on monkey only spin offs.
It's called "Ape Escape" but there was more than just monkeys.
That Toro is Sony's kind-of mascot and has been in a ton of games?
">Ape Escape reboot/remake/remaster thingy that could take some notes from R&C 2016, MGS4 and/or Sonic Mania/Generations
>It's tries to be new by reusing stuff from the mainline series and some spin offs in different ways, as it would be made for fanservice (and then a little bit of new stuff)
>Story is similiar to the first game but with more characters
>4 playable characters (Spike, Jimmy, kei and Yumi) + co op mode
>They all get the gadgets from the mainline games with Spike having stuff from Million Monkeys
>Character design based on Big Mission
>Levels and soundtrack inspired on the most beloved levels from the trilogy but levels would have some differences to not be a bit rehashy like different geometry and areas
>New places for levels and variety between the levels or something
>Minigames based on spin offs like 2001, Pumped & Primed and even Ape Academy
>Crossover minigame with another PlayStation series i guess
>Mesal Gear Solid 2 with Old Snake or Cyborg Raiden
>Yumi and Kei get outfits based on other PlayStation series
>Some monkeys are, again, PlayStation crossover based
>Catching all monkeys make Jake and Natalie playable
>Bosses are Specter, Freaky Monkey Five and the three Pipotron
>Racing minigame with human characters playable and there's an analog DualShock controller attached to their cars for them to drive with
>Spike gets an actual kid voice that isn't annoying
>Spike may get a secret outfit being the girly outfit from the anime
Name could be something like Ape Escape: Recapture or something"
From fireden archive
Basically a "remake" where they just mix all the games together but in a way where it still feels like a new good game, while also adding a little bit of good new shit.
Basically what Ratchet and Clank should have been.
I blame the movie for how the game turned out which was basically safe but still serviceable, I imagine if the movie wasn't a thing there would've been a full fledged remake instead of having to put up with movie limitations
Why do they still think vidya movies are a good idea?
At least the Sly one was cancelled.
