Brutal Doom sucks. Only good gameplay mods are Demonsteele and that one that lets you play as Duke, Lo Wang, dude from Marathon, etc.

not better just offers a different vibe than the original. If you like the gore,sound/lighting effects from brutal doom without the finishers and bullet screen cracking try brutal doom 64. It maintains the survival horror feel of 64 without sacrificing anything.

brutal doom was cool for a while when i wasnt really into doom modding

now im playing mods like doomrl arsenal, metadoom, trailblazer, guncaster, colorful hell etc with a plethora of different maps and im having a lot more fun
