How would you make Borderlands 3 good?
How would you make Borderlands 3 good?
i wouldnt release it.
...
i'd cancel it.
Ask each and every writer if they know what a meme is. If they say yes fire them on the spot.
Fire all the writers, graphic artists, level designers, play testers, publishers, voice actors.
Why do Sup Forums hate Borderlands?
No SJW shit.
There, done. All Borderlands games have been fun and the hate for them is a meme spawned from the fact that Pitchford and Burch are literally insane. Gameplay wise, all they have to do is stay the course and keep improving the formula.
I'd remove all memes.
a relatively good first game hyped us up for a sequel, then it became nothing but memes and terrible writing, with disappointing final bosses, and after the first game, that's pretty hard to pull off.
If you can stomach the fucking awful writing. Barring that, the Borderlands games are just your typical shoot-em-up grindfest with ugly visuals.
Less "hip" dialogue from Burch and his ilk would be a start. There was nothing wrong with the writing for the first game.
Also, make the guns ACTUALLY look different based on what brand they are, you know, like we were originally told they would be for Borderlands 2.
>slag exist
>borderland the pre-garbage exist
Yeah it's all the SJW fault
Remove what happened in 2, remove Pitchford, remove Gearbox.
Leave making good games to competent studios.
Nothing wrong with slag, nothing.
Have the people who made 1 do the weapons and balance
Have the people who made 2 do the enemy and level designs
Have the people who wrote Tales From The Borderlands do the writing
Easy
>nothing wrong with gameplay
>borderlands 2 progression
Haven't played the third one, did they fix it?
Cut out the gimmicky guns (except if they're legendaries or joke weapons).
Keep the memes in the flavor text.
Fire whoever was in charge of scaling in 2 (and put the guy in charge of ironsights/scopes on probation).
Nobody is allowed to use the word "Badass".
Add more equipment types (Shields, Relics, and Class items can stay).
>gimmicky guns
Such as?
>he saved his own post as though it was worth reposting
As everyone in that thread told you, the second line is much better than the first one.
...
Pre Sequel has by far the best gameplay, no slag, and the only downside is the SJW shit. So yes, you proved his point.
I'm not a big fan of the graphical style, the gunplay feels somewhat bland due to the whole rpg / action hybrid system, the writing is literally just memes and "feminism is awesome" (Yes, that was literally a line in a Gearbox game) but I've still played all the games from beginning to end, don't really know why
More connected world, better gun variety (i.e. more guns that aren't shit), more arcede-y ways to coop.
They did, yes. Exponential scaling was a blunder and they learned from it. BL2 still plays much better than BL1 in every other regard.
Tediore reloads, you autist
Roll back everything that isn't auto pickup and start from there. The game needs its gun diversity, gun manufacturers, and scaling back to original borderlands levels.
Change manufacturer features to only happen on some guns, not all guns.
Pre-sequel's boss design, 2's level design, and 1's balance.
Something else to find in boxes besides ammo, which stops being relevant after a while.
More exotic gun types, like grenade launchers or scifi cross bows.
More than one ability per class. Holding melee or grenade buttons could do a new ability.
Remove vehicles, they add nothing to the game.
Fix FFYL to allow you to self revive if alone.
More useful varieties of items. Power ups, rare treasures, collectibles, money types, etc.
A side mode or zone where guns fall apart as you use them so you constantly need to scavenge and use new guns.
The Maliwan pistols and the Dahl burst rifles come to mind as well (having the option to switch between firing modes would be sweet though.).
Borderland was never good. Reddit hyped it like the retards they are.
>2d effects like Battleborn
>Reduce overworld by 80%, more confined areas for specific challenges instead
>Fire the writers
I know there's the SJW meme and I would've brushed it aside as exaggeration, but then someone makes a joke about the friendzone and the writers have to insert an additional clip explaining the friendzone is a misogynistic construct.
> this gun has 3750 possible versions in BL2
> but in BL1 it would've had 5000 versions
Literally who gives a shit? The random loot system is both one of the games biggest strengths and weakness. It's been a while, but I remember finding so many completely fucking useless shit weapons in BL1. Some really high-tier shit would drop, or some unique named weapon, but then one of the parts would be so shit that the entire gun became pretty much unusuable. The fact that BL2's unique weapons had less possible parts in their games was a plus.
I think they should try experimenting with crafting guns (if they haven't already). Just make it so that individual parts are now also lootable so you can put together your own guns
I'd remove the coop so people can realize what a fucking shit, boring ass game they're playing so the series can die for good.
I've played all of them in both coop and singleplayer
>crafting meme
An hero immediately. You roll the best gun possible in BL2 and in one level it's shit compared to a gun with a mediocre roll.
It honestly would make sense for scopes and elemental mods to function like gems in Diablo
just make it as badass as possible
Which gun manufacturer do you like the most?
t. autist with no friends.
Dank maymays.
I'd just rebalance BL2 honestly.
Cull the scaling and tweak the skill trees.
environments and enemy variety of 2
random gun generation of 1
elemental effects of 1 (no, no fucking slag)
add lasers from pre sequel
level scaling from 1
less MMO GRINDAN retard "raid" bosses with 8 godtrillion health
writing from a completely different game entirely, preferably something like 1 but I'm sure you could aim higher than that
It makes sense for this game. By design 99% of the weapons and items you get are absolute shit that you'll just sell / recycle anyway. Finding great parts so that you can put together your own crazy guns sounds pretty alright. Better than
> find a legendary gun, get excited
> some kind of minigun
> stats look fucking great on first glance
> "fires as fast as you can pull the trigger"
> 15 rounds in magazine
> my fucking soul
It's just so shit, imagine if you could just destroy the gun but strip one of its components off so you can put together something actually useful and fun
S&S fuck year
>autistic faggots
Anything other than vladof is wrong.
Make revolvers a weapon type again
Bring back Atlas and S&S guns, they wouldn't just disappear all over the planet just because the manufacturers split.
I never get a pearlescent gun.
>disappointing final bosses
I hope you're not talking about DLC raid bosses.
>> "fires as fast as you can pull the trigger"
whoever thought this should be the revolvers big gimmick in 2 should be lined against a firing squad for his crimes
revolvers were my favorite fucking weapons in 1 and 2 they are just absolute complete trash
Being able to craft your own gun would be the kiss of death for the game. The fun is chasing perfection, so anything guaranteed hurts the chase.
atlas was patrician
>DOTs 100% useless
Opinion discarded.
t. OP8 Gaige
if they will continue tales story, atlas will be back
but then you fall into the inevitable cycle of 85% of what you find to be absolute garbage and vendor trash, leading to a practically infinite amount of money with nothing to spend it on.
>everyone In that thread
I'm gonna need some archive links for that.
Slag is just a debuff which has been a staple mechanic of rpgs. I'd like to see more debuffs or combo mechanics. Like coat enemies with oil to increase fire damage, or water to increase electrical damage. Something where you can use your abilities, grenades and guns in better unison.
>revolvers were my favorite fucking weapons in 1 and 2 they are just absolute complete trash
Yeah definitely, I loved using the revolvers. Critting psychos with a single shot all day baby
Yeah, you'd definitely need to be careful about implementing it. Would probably necessitate a pretty big overhaul of the current system but I think that's far from perfect either like says so y'know.
I really hate Torgue's gyrojet bullet gimmick in 2
give it to a competent dev
Reminder that there are people who BOUGHT the dlc that makes enemies even bigger bullet sponges and where you have to regrind your entire arsenal every level.
And then they brag about how "their" grog harold/melee 0/bee hawk/pimpernel build is good.
1. Make regular loot better
2. Throw in more enemies to counteract that
3. Stick with the mad max rip off setting, and instead of focusing on creating a wide variety of environments, focus on making regular encounters as interesting as possible.
4. Let rocket launchers have the ammo capacity they had in borderlands 1
5. Either give players more experience or make every level more significant.
I just really want Tales from the Borderlands season 2...
played through 1 last year, it's a real shame about s and s becoming bandit. Like shit man extra ammo should not come at the expense of every other stat.
Can Gearbox even release a proper game now?
With their casual-pro-level-hobby-grade-mlg-liberal-kojima game being such a failure?
Also, please bring back character classes back.
The best thing about Borderlands 1 was that each character had one class with limited weapon types (girl = smg, guy = rifle, big guy = big guns, edgy = sniper).
This is what makes Co-Op games great: having to play with your friends, each taking one role to fulfill a global objective.
Since Borderlands 2, bringing someone with your on COOP is just to raise the DPS and nothing more.
More memes
Farm harder, nerd. They drop like candy in the armory and crawmerax was never hard to kill as a sanic siren.
>More serious dialogue and options during the quests
>Less endless expanses that require vehicle combat, make vehicle zones specialized for it
>Better character customization over their skill(s)
>Ability to refill all guns at a store finally with one button
>A means of rerolling the parts of an item drop
>Some means of farming legendaries and named drops that isn't solely RNG but instead can be slowly worked towards with a currency
>NEVER add in a bullshit Ultimate True Super Omega Vault Hunter Mode again where you're required to only use meta builds with meta weapons or you get 1 shot
>More focus on arenas this time around
>Make each character fulfill certain roles better like they did in TPS with dedicated support and tanking trees as options
>Scaling and quick drop in play so people can always join what you're doing without feeling like they're carrying or getting nothing out of it
What the fuck are you talking about? You could always use any type of gun, regardless of character.
>Make Gearbox Great Again
by removing every single borderlands mechanic from it
They already removed Scooter.
They need a few abilities per character, or just way more characters.
That just reminded me I've hardly touched the DLC for the original Borderlands. Is it worth playing?
...
armory > zombie > mad moxxi > robolution
at the very least, play armory. you can glitch/farm the armory. zombie has a good atmosphere. the other 2, i'm pretty sure were outsourced.
CATCH A RIIIIIDE!
...
kek
Ned's Island is full of cliches but had good atmosphere.
Underdome is the toughest and most frustrating "fight the waves of enemies" arena, gives skill points
Armory is lucrative, encounters are fun, Knoxx's banter is better than writing in the entire trilogy. Quests are stretched over long ass highway, lots of backtracking
Robolution is decent, has small treasury as a reward like Knoxx's armory but not as much lucrative, kinda meh
bandit for top dakka
Dahl
I love the burst
Are there spikes on the cheekrest?
The secret armory of general knoxx is the most fun dlc in the series. Knoxx himself is top-tier.
bandits are wearing masks for the most part, is no problem for them
ingame bandit smg stock doesn't have the cheekrest
I got mine with shitty parts so it fires slower than molasses.
>still doing the mocap for the sequel to a five year old game
What have they been doing all this time?
I hope Gearbox outsources the writing.
>thinks a screencap is freshly made by the user who posted it
>has never been in a Randy thread
I've got news for you
By adding more badass stuff
Mine is a bit better. Still not great though. Need AR550 w/ barrel 4.
>mfw people I know say the gameplay is good
>"we enjoy grinding endlessly for one fucking weapon in a game series that's supposed to be about weapon variety!"
Fucking retards.
But honestly, is there really that many memes? I don't remember the writing much.
>Make classes that don't need that can handle their own like in Pre Sequel but can also do some really crazy shit in co-op.
>Make abilities be actual game changers right of the bat instead of needing 3 to 5 points into it to be useful or need to work with other abilities to be decent.
>Legendaries, Unique and rare weapons are actually useful and not simply joke weapons
>Implement a quick save and quick reload element so farming bosses ain't a huge chore.
>More manufactures and weapon parts
>return ice element from TPS because it was much better than shitty slag.
>Make some manufactures actually useful for every type of weapon and build.
>Add some extra missions or events that are always available to get more loot and farm for levels/items.
> No cringe SJW dialog
>Different quests and loot available depending on which character you are playing that are related to that character story/backstory as incentive to try out every character and not having to deal with repeated quests for the entirety of all your play-troughs.
>Add secret(non Easter egg) areas and quests that add to the lore and world building.
>More vehicles, something like a bike for a solo player to go faster at the cost of not being able to sustain much damage.
>Bring the jet packs with effects for more offensive options.
That's pretty much it.
...
The game is filled with terrible stuff, only played 1/2, they have awful AI, guns sound terrible in those games, the gun variety is piss poor, like a totally new gun is different for having 7 bullets capacity in the magazine and the other has 6, the game often boils down to bullet sponge enemies, enemy scaling, skills don't really feel great, vehicle has shitty handling, many MMORPG tier fetch quests, collect 10 rat tails and so on. Because of the poor gunplay/AI/itemization, the games are just a fucking bore to play.
People who say Borderlands is bad because memes aren't really saying the whole story, those games have some pretty bad flaws even if you ignore the writing and characters completely.
BEST AR COMING THROUGH
That is correct user, but do you have an Ajax Ogre?
if you need to keep calling your company, yourself or your game "badass", it's because it isn't
No :<
In 400hrs I only found 3 Ogres
Meanwhile look at this abomination.
