What's the appeal? I've tried MH3 and MH4 for 3ds and I just don't get it. It just felt frustrating and took forever to take off. Am I playing it wrong? Are the more recent ones better?
What's the appeal? I've tried MH3 and MH4 for 3ds and I just don't get it...
>kill monsters
>get items
>use items to make better weapons and armor
>repeat the cycle
that's literally it, if you don't like how the combat feels these games aren't for you
>What's the appeal?
Killing dragons with an anvil on a stick. If you're not enjoying the hunts, you probably won't be into Monster Hunter
this, it's just not for everyone
MH4U is great, what's your problem specifically about? You have to learn and progress. Generations actually has more shitty gathering quests bogging you down than 4U, so your complaint should really apply to that one.
4ufag here who started recently, are the weapons much different in gen? I can't even remember how the weapons feel different from FU which is the first one I played. I'm liking 4u though, it's a lot easier than I remember FU being.
You either like it or you don't, there's no inbetween. The combat is methodical but once you have found a weapon you like the move set of you start to get more into it
Nothing more satisfying than leaping off a cliff to smack a rathalos with your great sword and knock him to the ground
No, they're very similar. 4U introduced the Charge Blade and Insect Glaive and made the combat a lot more fluid. Mounting is kind of overpowered, but not to the point where it breaks the game. Generations nerfed Charge Blade down a little bit so it plays more distinctly, and it's harder to get mounts in it too.
Insect Glaive is the wepn of that gmae. Like perfect in every situation, perfect against every hunt. You can solo that fucking rock-bastard and get full LoZ gear way before you have a chance to with any other weapon..
You just said you didn't like two of the best entries in the series so I' gonna say the series is not for you
t. frog
you need something to highlight if your moves are supereffective? or some time to plan your strategy when facing the monster?
You an always play pokemon
>capcom confirmed XX will not come to the west
This how I kill myself.
MH5U when?
man, they used to have fun hunting. They now realize how threatening monsters can be
Did this even happen? They seemed pretty set on growing MH's western presence.
post source faggot
The games are always a slow burn, but if you aren't feeling it by the time you graduate from velocidrome/great jaggi types to bonafide flying wyverns and whatnot then chances are you just don't have the autism for this kind of game. It's essentially a gear treadmill via bossfight, so it's not really the type of thing that everybody falls in love with.
Good
Gens was a mistake
Talking out of your ass I see

I'm the type of autist that likes grinding guardian weapons to kill lynels for star fragments and then repeating the process in BOTW, would I like monster hunter?
Yeah.
