This, but I would argue that it should be like Siskel and Ebert where they both had thumbs up/thumbs down and would debate on the merits with each other when they disagreed.

Don't forget 'graphics/sound/control/fun factor', that rating system only shines when you got the categories.

No number scale. Force them to actually consume the review and build from there.

By reviewing them and giving information on what they offer and not rating them on a number scale. A rating system is an abstract that solely exists to simplify a persons opinion to a number so that the people who don't actually care enough to read the review can get a vague sense of what the review says in as short an amount of time as possible.

If you want any more proof of how worthless a numbered scale is, consider those people say "there's no such thing as a 10/10 or 100/100 game", who are even dumber since they fail to see that the scale is an abstract of an opinion and not a literal guage of quality.

Reviews SHOULD be -reviews-. They should go over the positives and negatives of a work. You can't summarise or give meaningful information beyond "it's good/kinda good/okay/kinda bad/bad" for a game, movie or book with a number.

How to review a game the Sup Forums way:

1. Don't play anything
2. Use hearsay to form opinions
3. Nitpick anything you feel like
4. Conclude the game isn't perfect, therefore shit
