>everyone would buy it

Everyone wants a new Metroid game you dip

>this is what nintendofags actually believe

They released Federation Force to test the waters, if you really wanted another Metroid game you would've put your money where your mouth is and bought it :^)

I did buy it, it's a good game you dip

>everyone wants a metroid game!
ok, here, we made a metroid game
>NO ITS NOT MY METROID REEE FUCKING BOYCOTT THIS SHIT FUCK THESE NINTENDO JEWS

>everyone wants a star fox game!
ok, we made a star fox game
>NO ITS NOT MY STAR FOX REEEE FUCKING BOYCOTT THIS SHIT 3/10 FUCKING GAMESTOP

>everyone wants an F-Zero game
Go fuck yourself

This.

>But FF isn't a real Metroid game!

Says the non fans. It really does come off, right now, that the vast majority of Metroid '''''fans'''' only care about the series for PC reasons, namely the fact that Samus is a woman.

Hence all these weird accusations that Samus being the final boss in FF is 'offensive' despite being genuinely awesome.

Only the small demographic of gamers that view gaming as their main hobby post about their opinions on the internet.

Only some of those people who post about games on the internet like metroid.

It's not a popular franchise. It's a great one, but not a popular one. Capitalism has won, user.

Well, you clearly didn't buy enough copies because it sold like shit.

They could have fucking bought AM2R, the dev would have been fucking thrilled to put it on e-shop.

Basically give him a budget so he can make all the updates he needs to give an edge to the e-shop version over the free PC one

It was a done deal

Why are they so retarded

Reminder that Prime 1 is the only entry to break 1 million.

What would a new metroid even look like? Souls like?

I'd really prefer more Prime. There are plenty of comptetent 2D metroidvania games, but no one has really tried to replicate Prime.
>souls
Fuck off. Not everything has to fit that "genre"

I'm surprised nobody has fallen for all that - admittedly obvious - bait

Maybe there is hope for Sup Forums

>this is what metroid fags actually believe

Fucking idiot

>souls like
Kill yourself.

>everyone
Nah

Stop being delusional

>Not everything has to fit that "genre"

Are we expecting Nintendo to reinvent a Metroid game with an entirely new framework?

>Splatoon - Team Shooter
>Zelda - Open World
>Punch Out - Fighter

It's not just easier, it's more efficient.

"Hey Nintendo you should make more NES classic system."
"Nah brah."
"Yeah bu-"
"Please cease and desist from talking to us."

Metroid games don't sell well user. Nobody outside of the nerdy Nintendo clique bought them. There are indie games that have sold more copies than the entire Metroid franchise.

Metroid games sell like shit.

Problem is, Metroid games don't sell that well, so Nintendo won't throw us a bone until they're in a really comfortable position financially.

BotW was a good start but the Switch's fate is still very much uncertain so I doubt they'd start a 3D Metroid game that isn't streamlined as fuck like Corruption.

Samus will be in Senran Kagura for Switch.

There's your Metroid game.

No, I'm expecting Nintendo to use one of the two established Metroid genres. I'm tired of the incessant "Dude, what if X had a soulslike game!".

The only metroid game I ever played was fusion and I only played it on a phone emulator, fuck no I don't want another Metroid game.

How about waiting until E3, where chances are they may announce a 2.5D Metroid Fusion sequel for the 3DS.

No they don't. I'm a massive Metroidfag and fucking nobody wants Metroid games but Metroidfags.

Are you the same guy who usually posts "why did nintendo bother making a new zelda when metroid would sell 10s of millions of copies"?

Are you implying ARMS is a punch out entry?

Metroid games are not exactly bread winners, at least, not in terms of sales, by Nintendo's standards.

If what you said was true, Federation Force would have broken records, but instead it got VERY mediocre sales and a TON of backlash from most "gamers".

Metroid is dead, just like F-Zero, and the other forgotten Nintendo titles, outside the realm of spin-offs, ports, remakes, and remasters.

WINDJAMMERS

...

...

Not him but I'm pretty tired of the Prime sub series, it's been 15 years, I'm ready for a Meroid Fusion sequel.

>But everyone would buy it and all the DLC you'd basically be printing your own money
>Metroidfags believe this
>When Metroid is one of Nintendo's lowest earning franchises.

I'm saying it's in the same genre as Street Fighter.

I don't think they're comparable.
Sure, FF got major backlash and shit sales, but if anything the backlash shows the fans still care.
You can't hate what you're indifferent to.

Also, and most importantly, Nintendo has made it clear during interviews that they don't know what they'd do of a F-Zero sequel and are thus not interested by the idea, whereas in another interview Shig says he still believe in Metroid and wants to keep making both Prime-like and classic Metroid games.

So Metroid and F-Zero are really not in the same state

Are Metroid fans the most insufferable fanbase on Sup Forums?
>Waaah, my series only got a spin-off instead of a main-series title. I'm going to petition to cancel it! Nintendo are so unfair for not making any Metroid games.

>So Metroid and F-Zero are really not in the same state

Yes they are, they both sell like shit and so they are canned.

The end.

Literally every 3D Metroid has followed the same pattern.

> It'll sell millions!
> Nintendo caves in and makes a game.
> Sells hundreds of copies.

They're just not falling for the same thing for the fifth or whatever time.

This. AM2R sold literally zero copies. Metroid fans are all lying poo poo heads.

i like you

I'm asking because the last PO game was on the Wii and wasn't a fighting game. Unless something was just announced that I missed, PO has never had a fighting game (Little Mac in smash doesn't count).

Reminder, faggots like op would never buy the game and then laugh when it sells awfully.

Did you read my post?

We have Myamoto on record saying the IP will carry on

ARMS sure looks like a fighting game to me.

Nah man, FF is just shit. When I heard the concept I was actually pretty hyped. Something between Republic Commando and Dead Space where you play as faceless mook soldiers within the Metroid Universe who are trying to navigate a terrifying world, while simple enemies like Hoppers that are yawn-worthy for Samus are now suddenly the most terrifying foes you'll ever face. What we got was this weird, slow, mediocre, chibi Prime-Lite game that had no idea who it was trying to appeal to. The younger Japanese audience that would appreciate the bobbleheads and cutesy style DON'T like shooters and DON'T like Metroid. Meanwhile the western fans who loved the series love it for it's maturity and secluded atmosphere. Therefore, they DON'T appreciate the cutesy style and hate everything this game represents, ESPECIALLY after the slap in the face that was Other M.

It was a game that literally appealed to no one.

3D Metroid can't even surpass the 2D Metroid games in sells except the first Prime game (cue the retard who decides to post vgchartz numbers for Prime games after Prime 1).

Which is why I asked
>>Are you implying ARMS is a punch out entry?
Because ARMS is a new IP, not Punch Out.

...

...

Pretty sure the even the vgchartz number support you. Prime 2 and 3 were both under a million iirc.

Just play Disc Jam

You poor, naive bastard.

A Street Fighter/Tekken Fighter game.

>instead of this we got a new Zelda which sold quite literally not one single copy
I know OP, I just don't understand.

Mate, read my post carefully. I'm not doubting ARMS is a fighting game. I'm just telling you that ARMS and Punch-Out are two seperate IPs.

>Hence all these weird accusations that Samus being the final boss in FF is 'offensive' despite being genuinely awesome.
>genuinely awesome.
>genuinely awesome.
>genuinely awesome.
>genuinely awesome.

Nintendo should've contacted the AM2R guy and make it official.

Yea, you keep bringing that point up.

Just like how everyone wanted a new Star Fox game

no way

Nobody asked for Prime, if anything Retro and Nintendo pushed through backlash when people saw the unflattering alpha previews

It ended up selling quite decently, becoming the best selling Metroid game (literally millions in this case), way ahead of Fusion and Super.
So of course they made more.
Ain't anything to do with people somehow pressuring them into making more to "sell millions"

Other M rubbed the fans the wrong way it sold less.
FF angered the fans enough to shit on every youtube rating and throw petitions to cancel the thing around, and it didn't even make it to the fucking chart. Even in fucking Japan.

Now Nintendo may be out of touch but they understand sales, and the correlation angry fans > bad sales is pretty clear here
So don't think they'll just go "WELL I GUESS THEY JUST HATE METROID NOW"

Yes?

...

im a fan and i have no fucking intention on buying that game ever, even other M i got it used for the same reason.

Right.

Metroidfags at it again with the constant whining

Indeed.

Not him but after Prime sold very well the sequels after it served to sell poorly, both Prime 2 and Hunters barely broke a million on consoles that sold wither over 20 million and over 100 million while Prime 3 couldn't even outsell Super Metroid on a console that sold over 100 million. These are some embarrassing sales for a AAA game. The good thing about 2D Metroid games was that they weren't ever really AAA games, but for Prime these numbers were disastrous. When they finally came back to Prime, Fed Force bombed worse than Other M. If anything I can see the series returning to 2D in its foreseeable future.

Good perspective, I can see some parallels between the premise you had presume to have and what Halo ODST for its setting.

*with

Nah, Prime's problem with sales happened because of PS2 and Halo. It was overshadowed by all the marketing and all the games that came out.

That was part of the problem, Prime sold because Metroid went dormant for 8 years and Prime was the first 3D Metroid plus it looked a little like Halo in FPS so many people had interest in Metroid's new direction. With Prime 2, that interest was no longer there mixed with the fact that the Prime series was moving away from proper Metroid, the questionable release date and features didn't help. Prime 3 had similar issues mixed with some horrible marketing.

youtube.com/watch?v=CO7KfDHU-j4

Seriously what the fuck was this? Prime's sequels were doomed from the start. Hunters had the issue of fans waiting for Metroid Dread (Fusion's sequel for the DS). Federation Force wasn't what anyone wanted and left many fans still wanting a 2D game with some wanting a Prime 4.

seventh post best post

They're working on a class-based Metroid shooter

But you already got your metroid game

Metroid has a lot of potential, it's iconic, gamers know about it. A single player campaign + multiplayer and market it correctly and it would sell in the West. Even now there's a lack of something like Metroid in Nintendo's consoles so you might as well bring it back even if you only create one per console generation.

Who said you could use my Temple Grounds image without posting Temple Grounds?
youtube.com/watch?v=hwjcq8Vwt24

True but the best plan for now is to go small meaning make a 2.5D sequel to Fusion on the 3DS and hen work on a grand scale Prime game for the Switch. the 3DS game would revitalize interest into the series, the Prime 3 sequel would get the series truly back on track. A 2.5D Metroid 6 can then come later on for the Switch.
