First how can you possibly hate Bastion. Second it's a similar style of game but the combat systems totally different.

Not him, and I didn't hate Bastion, but I certainly didn't understand the ludicrous amount of praise. Gameplay wise it's fun in short bursts but it's nothing really new and gets repetitive quickly. I actually liked Transistor more even though I wish it was longer.

Transistors definitely better. Bastions still really good though.

Pyre doesn't look great, I'm not all that excited

Which didn't you like?

I thought both Strongest Legend Kurosawa and Kokou no Hito were OK, but not really my cup of tea. Same with Kingdom but I only read partway through Kingdom and I might return to it. I'm really picky when it comes to non-romantic manga.

Also this might get me shot, but I didn't enjoy Monster either. It got hyped up for me so far but the only thing I enjoyed in it was Tenma. The weird Nazi conspiracy stuff was a bit much. (I did like Cardcaptors but I only ever saw the dub when I was a child...so maybe you could make 2/3 if you want to count the dub).

What didn't you enjoy about it? Was it the ending? Did you at least finish it?

When you guys make one of these do you normally do games you've recently played, games that you've played throughout your life that have stood out, or a combination of the two?

1) That's Romani and Cremia not Malon. From MM. I wanted to put down at least one "traditional" game genre to avoid exactly the complaint you would make.
2) Also the Sims 3 (LR) is not a visual novel nor is it mobile.

Also its not my fault if VN is one of the better ways to make a game.

I did finish it! It just wasn't my cup of tea for all the hype it received. I found it a bit dull: it was hard for me to get attached to any of the characters outside of Tenma (and Grimmer too) and I thought the Nazi conspiracy stuff was just goofy (20th Century Boys has a similar issue with these really goofy plots). Johan gets a lot of praise as a good villain but he just felt flat, less a "character" and more of a force of nature. I guess that's the point of his character, but being totally flat super evil force doesn't make him any more interesting to me.

I actually really liked the ending of Monster though. Probably one of the best parts of the series and very memorable. The beginning was good too.

That's kinda of what he is, but don't feel bad, not many were able to see the man behind the force of nature.
A lot of people don't understand Johan as a character, and subsequently dislike the ending because they don't understand his motives.

Now you really fucked up, DMC with bad gameplay? Are you nuts or something? I don't even need an argument, everyone knows it's amazing.

It's complex and it innovated a lot, but it's shit for modern standards. And that's a bad thing when it's the main appeal of the series.

CIV V with DLC was the shit
but IV was better still.
I highly recommend Empire Earth 1/2, not many people I've told have heard of it but it is awesome.

Literally go play it right now and you will change your mind. I think you never played, to be honest.

No thanks, I've played it through mostly to complete the series, the game didn't do it for me. 2 was very shitty all around, but it still some stuff better than 1 in my opinion, and that includes gameplay (though it was boring as shit).

Still, 3 blows the two of them out of the water.
