Both Niers, multiple times for short durations

Brutal Legend is the most famous example of this though

Bloodborne does somewhat of a sub genre switch I guess. I can't think of any full on ones from the top of my head but I know they exist.

>Brutal Legend
are you talking about the strategy elements? been a while since I played that game

What's that pic from

the switch from horror to psychological horror

Xenogears, goes from JRPG to visual novel for 90% of the second (and last) disc.

Fallout 4 changes from action RPG to town building simulator

Berserk

>Fallout 4
>RPG

Evoland changes genres every 5 minutes but everything sucks

Berserk

Plenty. For games that switch genre and then STAY the new genre though, how about Giants: Citzen Kabuto?

Spore

was it really a genre switch, if it just went back to how it started?

Dark Souls 3

Hatoful Boyfriend is an interesting example. It switches genre AFTER you beat the game, as the ending reveals that the game is actually a murder mystery and not a dating sim.

Evoland 2 was a lot better. Changes from 8bit to 16bit and 3d too.

Suikoden V is a classic turn-based RPG with some strategy campaign phase

>You play the role of a mother/father in search of ___
>You play the role of
>the role

I don't know what RPG means: the post

True. But nobody should ever play that pile of shit.

Don't reply to bait.

MuvLuv Extra to MuvLuv Alternative

Frog Fractions

Why don't you play the role of sucking my cock?

Beyond Two Souls is the David Cage game that can't decide on a genre.

>That one route where you find out about some weird angel vs demon tree God bullshit out of nowhere.
>Suddenly you have a fucking health and magic bar, a move list, stats, and youtu.be/My1BasHDpnE or youtu.be/xo8wCrwLejw starts playing.(Can't remember which.)
>This was a game about dating pigeons.

Shingeki no Berserk

Brutal Legend and Giants: Citizen Kabuto.

I think Armed and Dangerous had a genre switch too, but I might be confusing it and Giants.

L.A. Noire and Call of Cthulu: Dcote

Old Hunters DLC

Brutal Legend

>Call of Cthulu: Dcote

Haven't played it but how does it change genre?

Goes from a slow-paced first person detective/hide-n-seek atmospheric game to a very poorly implemented FPS about half-way through. Supposedly from outside pressure for sales, which obviously backfired heavily. Still worth playing but don't expect a satisfying conclusion to the early promise.

>You play the role of a man who is part of the Winslow Accord and trying to fight the robots
>You play the role of
>the role
Black Ops 3 is an RPG now woohoo
