I enjoy playing the game but it's just dumb too often. I mean look at this shit, did I really deserve to win off one opening and then making him guess wrong in a fucked up reset that he's pretty damn unlikely to guess right in.

That being said every fighting game has really dumb aspects to it. Every single one. There's no universally loved fighting game. The problem is that makes most people hate fighting games that isn't their main one, when instead they should just appreciate the good aspects of each fighting game.

Melee hasn't been exciting in about 10 years, the game is figured out, the top players will almost never change, and you'll always see the same 2-3 characters in 99% of the top level matches. Shits just boring, and even the technical side of it isn't that impressive.

You might just not like "real" fighting games because the mindset is so different, but I'm sure if you ever spent some time learning the fundamentals you would appreciate how much goes into mindgames once you get to higher levels of play. But still, Melee is old and busted dude, and the majority of both the pro and casual scene is a bunch of socially awkward smelly autists (the actual kind). Its not a flattering group to be a part of

i simply enjoy the actual act of playing the game and the balance of the characters and physics of the engine
it's really enjoying and cathartic to me
i haven't found another game that truly clicks like that

if ryu/alex had air parry, it would help so much. Alex gets a airdash hammer if he does it midair. He can continue charging it once he lands however for that 50/50.

Oh and unblockables don't do extra scaling. Modify some frame data and ryu/alex are top tier along side like 7 other characters.

I've never had that problem. I do have the problem of people from 3rd world countries jumping around but I assume it's the latency. I've never had button input lag like I did with SFIV.

Whichever one is the most popular. The bigger the player pool of the game you play the more potential you have to improve. Playing some dead piece of crap with 2 other people is a stagnant way to improve.

That's because it's rollback which masks input delay by putting a heavy input delay into the game innately. They literally designed the game around being playable online and it's the worst netcode they've ever done.
