Megaman gameplay compared to Smash
just to be honest, Megaman 1 and 2 are the games that started, 3-8 have innovations, 9 and 10 made the gameplay at a turtle pace, Unlimited, RM7FC and 8FC and SFR made the game more like 3-8 and keeping the fast pace
I still don't understand the hype for Project M
The coolest thing from it for me is the pokemon trainer being separated out and some of the costumes.
>has bots that are actually difficult
>more viable characters
>more characters to choose from
>similar mechanics to melee
It maintains the play-style of Melee while also ditching Melee's unbalanced roster. Also yeah, the costumes and stages are awesome.
But MM9 is considered one of the better classic games.
7 and 8 should be Brawl, especially 8.
Your first two things are cool.
Is there really that much more? I though the only thing they did different was the pokemon. Or do you mean Mewtwo and Roy?
>similar mechanics to melee
Okay I'm not trying to be a smash 4 shill or anything. I really just never got into Melee. I heard a lot of the mechanics are just abusing movement glitches? Or at least all the mechanics that people talked about are not really intentional by the creators. Is that true or no?
I'm just trying to keep an open mind. I wanted to get into melee, but all the melee players at my University are the biggest assholes around.
Knuckles is good to go I think, and Lyndis will be there soon too.
mmmmmmm I thought Project M was cancelled?
Mega Man 10 is the best Mega Man.
Wavedashing is just air dodging diagonally into the ground. I don't think the effect of wavedashing was intentional, but other games like Rivals of Aether have made wavedashing an actual mechanic. It's useful whether it was intentional or not. It's also combined with other moves to make combos better. Those things such as waveshining are definitely unintentional.
So yeah, they're most likely not intentional, but at this point some of them should be since it just speeds up games and makes it more interesting to watch.
I guess I see your point. Smash 4 is just fine for me and I'm good enough to have fun with it. Playing Duck Hunt makes people want to kill themselves. Thanks for the info.
They add almost all the characters from Melee back and there are a lot of cool new stages and costumes. Most of them are references to other media that the character was in, so if you're into fanservice of that type it's great.
The original team stopped working on it. There is a new group of people adding a shit ton (and I really mean a shit ton) of stages, costumes, and characters (Ridley, Geno, Lucine, etc.)
They're not patching gameplay though.
Even if you took away wavedashing, which isn't a glitch, you'd be left with a much faster game with less rigid combos than 4 and air physics that make more sense. I actually enjoy competitive Smash 4 but it's a shame PM got it down in its prime.
Unlimited is fucking trash put Rock Force on there instead
>MM9 and 10 are the worst
>MM7 and 8 are the best
I enjoyed mega man 9
Smash 64: Mega Man 1-6
Melee: Mega Man X series
Brawl: Mega Man 7/8
Smash 4: Mighty No. 9
Project M: Mega Man Zero/ZX
Rivals of Aether: Mega Man Powered Up
Brawlhalla: Stinkoman 20X6
PlayStation All-Stars: Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge
This doesn't even make any sense. Why the fuck are you comparing these two franchises?
why would you ever play the originals when X exists
Why would you ever play X when MM Zero exists?
MM9 is the best classic title though. It's basically 2 if 2 were as good as everyone says it is instead of being wildly hit or miss. MM10...well, it has Hard Mode.
Because they're all distinctly different in approach. Classic is more of a traditional platformer, X is more of an action gauntlet with some platforming, and Zero is more of a speedrun simulator version of X.
