it's shit because it starts as a pretty good little horror show with a really unique setting and monsters that are actually very unnerving and scary and then it turns into a mecha show about 6 or 7 episodes in with the typical power of friendship horseshit.

What the fuck? And why doesn't Eren just try to control a Titan while holding the Queen's hand or something? He did it just fine when he touched that Royal Titan.

The people on the mainland do shoot Marley's shifters with AT shells and such. Paradis has firearms tech which is basically 1600s though, so they don't have that option

You have to kill the person in the nape of the neck to kill the Titan. Otherwise they'll just regen.
If you do enough damage to a shifter though you'll force him or her out of their titan state.
