To me its not tedious but Minecraft has a lot more tedious things than that. It's still a blast though, especially with friends.

Stay away from the mods though, that's where you run into the autism tbqh and don't even think about a console port and you'll be in for a good time

Minecraft is a great game, Sup Forums just hates it because it is popular. Pic related, i'm having a blast playing with some of my friends while watching Samurai Jack in the background. the alien enviroments of the two medias really connect to me.

Hunger was a shit addition that adds absolutely nothing to go the game, just get any of the mods that removes it.

I'm pretty sure you can select and play any previous version when you open the launcher, I can't remember which patch added the hunger bullshit though.
