I would play, no dlc required. It's a solid spacey fps. I shat all over it just like everyone else when it came out. It's a fun game, just a very clearly split game with all the expansions. Since shit doesn't carry from those expansions, the base game is worth a quick playthrough. You'll pick up the gameplay (which hopefully doesn't change in 2) quick, and should carry over. A leak says that characters will carry, and will go straight to level 20-25 if you complete the base story.

Just to expand, dlc makes the game better but doesn't matter in the sequel it seems. If you want a quick shooter, it's alright without dlc. It's much better with though. Your choice though.

Because of the time it took for them to bring this out of the barn on top of the negative criticism for the first one I think I'll save my money instead of gambling.

The raids are great, I didn't do all of them but the ones I did had waaaay more work put in to them than, say, story missions. You'd need a group but they're worth the effort. Maybe I'm just a massive cuck since I like bullet-spongey enemies in games.

Seriously. That base game was garbage. I ignored the game until taken king, got that collection thing, ended up being fun. I won't deny that the game is built around garbage, but it's fun garbage.

This is most likely because Bungie hasn't set up the PC version on whatever platform they decide to sell it on (99% sure it will be steam). When it does eventually happen you'll be able to link your steam account to your bungie account. This is also so that, should you play on more than one platform for some reason, you can use one bungie account to access all your shit.

It's only worth it if you're going to be doing raids, which you won't be if you only buy the vanilla game. Don't play it for the story missions, they suck.
