My flash cart finally came in the mail, and when I get my SP back out, this shit apparently happened. The hinge just fucking shattered.
What the fuck do I do. Literally shaking and all that.

>not emulating
>2017
Embarrassing
comeuppance for piracy
Ebay, or use an emulator like everyone else.
get a n3ds fag and hack it so you can inject any gba game
If you really wan to play on hardware and you have an NDS, you can get a flash card and a flash cart to go in both slots and play your GBA games like that. That's how I've been doing it for the past 9 or so years. Otherwise just use an emulator, user. mGBA is great.
But emulating is pleb tier compared to "playing on the original hardware" masterrace
Buy a new one obviously. They aren't expensive.
Eh, the "brighter screen" ones go for like $70-$100 often. Pretty shit.
Yes that's correct
I don't really get this sentiment when the emulators work perfectly.
Why would you emulate GBA games? They have such a low resolution and were designed for a tiny screen, its always going to look horrible unless you play it in a tiny window.
lol says the dude with snapped hinges on his SP.
There are ways to enhance the experience if you have an open mind.
Played through both GBA Metroid games last year on my tv. They looked pretty good desu. Like a vivid SNES game.
And thats not one of them.
Get a Ds lite or dsi. It has a nicer screen.
I disagree
Buy a new shell on ebay and reshell it carefully.
let him be a fag
dude get a job
No hope rip
emulate them on your vita
don't you have DS or something? flashcard will work on it too. it has better button layout as well versus SP
what a bunch of faggots
That's what you get for trying to steal games OP.
You deserve it
welcome to nintendo products, every nintendo handheld i've owned since the original GBA has had some kind of defect or flaw
special mention to the DS Lite, whose hinges literally disintegrated one day without any impacts or physical damage
How is that not a single one of my Nintendo products since Super Nintendo have broken? My NDS lite has seen some heavy use, I've probably put more hours on it than anything else and it's still kicking.
Get a new fucking shell dumb dumb
Buy a new one?
Meh. I have a 3ds for emulating handheld games on, a crt for emulating most old console games on, and a SNES with a flashcart and about 20 real games for it.
I don't really see the point in having real hardware for every console as emulation is just fine for most things.
the consoles are fine
maybe you're just lucky or never take the handhelds out of the house?
Can't you just use something to hold the screen at right position? You won't be able to close it, but it's better than nothing.
It could be that I'm lucky, it could also be that I don't have shit in my hands and drop them or I don't have the dexterity of a drunk chimpanzee and handle them roughly.
get some popsicle sticks and tap
never close
He doesn't just need a new casing, he needs new hinges, and those Chinese replacements. I had to put back together a DS Lite which had it's hinges explode the same way, and it did not fit together well, and the GBA slot was too tight for games to fit properly.
He's better off buying a second system that is broken but still contains a good casing and hinges, but if he was that adamant on using real hardware to emulate games, then he really should have been using a backlit system, and while 70-100 dollars is pricey, it's worth it if he's that passionate about the GBA, and if he's patient, he could get one a lot cheaper from Craigslist.
>one speaker
>even the Game Boy supported stereo through headphones
For what purpose
Not that it matters. The audio compression was awful and there was a bounty of static to boot. Giving you stereo audio on the GBA would be like watching a VHS on a modern 60" TV.
Nintendium, amirite?
Frankly I actually have a lot of trouble getting GBA games to emulate without slowdown.
Fuck if I know why, but it's true.
For the record, this was an AGS-101
I say was, because within just a little while with some super glue and putting the hinges back on, this just exploded
So
I mean it was $30 at a pawn shop, but still now I have to use it's retarded older brother
What emulator do you use?
Either buy a new shell or take the screen and mod it into a GBA phat. The GBA phat is better anyway.
Here's my baby. I absolutely love playing games on it.
Should I just use the AGS-001 next to it for a shell? It serves no purpose
Is it actually that simple? Just drag and drop?
how do you prevent something like happening to your clamshell handhelds?
>not using a psp for most emulation capable of running on itself
>
dont see why not
Yes, it's simple. Youtube/Google it.
And Nintendo thought they could still get away with not putting a sound chip in.
>this shit apparently happened
How?
Buy another one?
If the problem can be solved with money, and you have the money, then it really isn't a real problem isn't it.
>Literally shaking and all that
the fucks wrong with you?
Glue it back together
>SP screen
>OG GBA comfiness
Neat.
You will need to cut the inside of the case a little, but yeah, it's actually a really easy mod. Make sure you get a glass screen lens though because it looks so much better than plastic.
Specifically it's a screen from an AGS-101. They're getting a bit rarer these days though, and you can use a regular SP screen.
Are you joking or are you just daft
Get a fucking N3DS if you're using a flashcart
>Costs as much as the flashcart probably cost you
>Better screen
>Better sound
>Don't need to spend to hack it
>Can put NES, SNES, GB(C), GBA, Genesis and Game Gear games on it that run perfectly
>Access to 3DS' library too as well as DS if you get a cheap flashcart
>Same clamshell design
Either that or an original GBA with the backlight mod if you plan to use the thing for Gamecube connectivity
>not having GBA, NDS, 3DS
>using shitty emulators
>not having GBA Player for GC for maximum enjoyment
literally a pleb
>can use SP screen on normal comfy gba
holy fucking shit im so happy i opened this thread
my sp died a few weeks ago (it just randomly shuts down when i press any button and/or doesnt turn on at all)
and i have 2 old gbas, one the motherfucking og transparent one that i bought with my newspaper delivery money when i was 12 yo
FUCKING SWEET
I have all of those, just don't see a point in buying a GBA flashcart when the 3DS offers all it can offer and more.
Nintendo's GBA emulator seems fine; I haven't found any problems with it.
No one forces you.
using 3DS for GBA is still dumb idea for many.
Not everyone loves all in one solutions, cause they are usually crap
Design which means they will always go for the cheep option rather than the best option. All Nintendo clam shells have dimple stops which is why you can push them past and "lock" it in the wrong angle. These are fucking HORRIBLE for the joints because their is no resistance and the joints have to help support the dimple stop to keep the screen up. Friction stops or hydrolic stops would be much better for the joints.
DSL was build like tank tho
Advance Wars top tier
order new one.
you can find a second hand for like 30 bucks.
> all these ags 101 screens in the thread
> all i could find for a price that makes sense was an 001
Am I missing out?
