Why are there no good games based off of Battle Royale?

Why are there no good games based off of Battle Royale?

Rolling for fourth from the left bottom row.

Shit tons, started with The Ship

Gonna watch this movie again, ty user!

Because the tension only works when (what is perceived as) real lives are on the line.

>Gonna watch this movie again, ty user!
I'm recommending the manga

actually a whole lot better than the movie

The Culling, H1Z1, Ark, PUBG

amazon is doing this one game that's battle royal iirc

crucible?

Watch the sequel.
It really bring everything together.

No it's not.

Being one of two people/teams left on PUBG gets your blood pumpin desu.
Winning feels fucking gudd.

they're different, the book is the best of all three though, then the manga, then the movie.

he said good
Battle Royale games are all the same fucking thing. Pre-Alpha Survival Games. All these goddamn indie developers keep rehashing the same shit over and over again so they can waste more money on god knows what.

Playerunknown and Dean "Rocket" Hall are the biggest culprits of this bullshit.

I don't know, PBUG got right approach
it doesn't overcomplicate things with crafting, food and other bullshit
rounds around 30 minutes

it's essentially huge arena shooter

king of the kill would've been good if they even tried to fix it

>the only attractive guy is the long haired one

You want some chinese teenagers in uniforms to fight? Buy some random jrpg.

Have you been alive for the past 3-4 years, user?

anything with crafting shouldn't be considered battle royale.

>around 30 minutes

I agree with the approach to make the games last less long.

asians are dogs

the only attractive girls are bottom row far right, and second row 3rd from left

Movie is pretty shit. enjoyed the manga though.

Doesn't Battlegrounds Player Unknown use the map death combat system?

>tfw none of those girls is ever going to step on your dick until cum and blood comes out

>No it's not.
pleb taste

>pleb taste
slave taste.

>not second from left bottom row or third from right second row
pleb taste

TF2
Overwatch

What a horrible lack of diversity!

Because in order to work it would need to be some telltale shit.
Battle Royale is so great because of the relationships between the kids. Like a couple that vow to commit suicide together, but one of them betrays the other. A fat nerd raping the class beauty. You don't get that shit in a random multiplayer game, all you get is tryhards and children and you might as well play any other FPS/TPS multiplayer shooter instead, because there's nothing "Battle Royale" about it.
You can copy some mechanics from it, but it will always be a thirdrate knockoff of the real shit.

> huge arena shooter
That's the problem.
Why would I want a BR game end up being a shooting game with different rule?

I want mind games between players.
Make gun and bullet rare as fuck like in the movie, so killing is more about setting up terrain trap and ambush.
Give us posion or some more options to betray your the teammate/punishing loot hoarder.
Give penalty to those who team up, like showing their coordinate on the map.
Put in stamina system, so you can't just run around and kill.
Put in various minigames which give you XP points,so that you don't find it boring when run out of stamina and need to rest somewhere.
Skill tree, so you can strengthen your playstyle:
>increase carry weight
>better melee attack
>better chance to find resources
>poison testing
>hacking
Put in alterantive win condition like the movie, if you can collect computer and some other rare shit, you can try to shut down the game system and escape with ship.

There's so much things can be done in these game, and they all go for the shooting game route.

No major company touched the genre.

The manga was trash bro. The only good part was the girl having sex and killing the guy at the same time

>sequel
>surviving kids manage to see through the whole bullshit
>dude let's go to a country where children are truly free
>dude Afghanistan lmao

>Make gun and bullet rare as fuck
I agree on this point, ammo is too plentiful.

>setting up terrain trap and ambush
that's what actually happening if you are clever

>Put in various minigames which give you XP points
how to ruin a game, i'd like traps and mines though

>increase carry weight
contradicts your first point
>better chance to find resources
same
>better melee attack
pointless, there are knives and pans
>poison testing
maybe ark more up your speed?

I agree with sentiment that it needs another layer of complexity, but not too much it's very easy to ruin the game with bloat.

Hey class why don't you take us out.
What do we always say?
DON'T! GET! ELIMINATED! Whoo-hoo!

The manga was the book, with a few parts cut out which had better characterizations than the movie

>vn with 30 different endings
>shitty game with 3 endings and the true end where you need to slap your penis at a 60 degree angle every time you breathed
Pick one

>better melee attack
>pointless, there are knives and pans
What I have in mind is that melee battle has fighting game mechanic, and you get more moves from skill points. Those skills get more utility rather than doing more damage. (still, better weapon will do better damage)
For example, you can do an attack do more stamina damage, slower enemy move speed, etc.
By the way, I would disign that ambush wouldn't one shot. It just gieves huge advantage. I would like to see some comeback if the player has better skill.

>increase carry weight
>contradicts your first point
It depends on how it's implemented. Sacrifice leveling battle skill for better carry weight could be devastating.

The minigame part is not fully fleshed out in my mind, so I can't argue why it's good now.
