Recommend good games to play whilst listening to podcasts, or talking to friends. Stuff that doesn't require extreme attention but is still fun and challenging.
Recent games preferred but old is good too
Passive Gaming
Oblivion. 130hrs at my latest playthrough. Caught up on a lot of podcasts and music.
Terraria comes to mind
Anything by Paradox.
Overwatch, honestly
mount&blade
Any non-story driven roguelite.
>commieblock with a spike
Jesus christ user, do you even know how to construct a somewhat interesting settlement?
>Commieblock
What? Sincw when are squares commie?
Hearthstone maybe?
Any ubisoft open world game
Elite dangerous if you're I to autistic space sims
I've played THPS3, Konung (like Diablo) and Project Zomboid while listening to other stuff. But I find it distracting when I play FPS, RTS, Stealth games.
civ4, take your time during the turns if you're engaged in a conversation
modded, of course
Any turn-based game. You can just tab out any time you want and then go back. Dungeons of Dredmor on steam is super fun and cheap. Roguelike dungeon crawler. Got about 100 hours out of it.
Spelunky
This. The only time I get caught up on podcast or audio books lately is playing OW.
Anything on mobile
Sims
City building games
Any rpg with grinding
oldschool runescape
Doom wads
Any shooter without a lot of story
Stardew Valley
Terraria
Diablo 2
Samefag here. I'll add in roguelikes/lites too. Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is good as is Enter the Gungeon.
About two years ago I would listen to podcasts while playing casual CS go. Since it's casual and since it's CS it's easy enough to mindless point and shoot, while learning stuff about the world at the same time.
I do RuneScape and hearthstone while watching movies.
Id honestly play just about everything except a story driven RPG for an audiobook. Some multiplayer shooter would be perfect.
Eve online
I listen to podcasts/watch tv shows whilst playing Runescape. You only need to click a single thing like every 30 seconds if you're grinding a single material.
I listen to podcasts while watching Binding of Isaac a lot
I do it while practicing in fighters, play Monster Hunter, or some mp game.
Literally forever. Thats like one of the most distinctive features of "modern" architecture in ex communist countries
final fantasy mobius if you play on hard
OW confirmed to not skill required.
Civ
Is this the attention span of kids nowadays?
I used to play Space Hulk Ascension a lot while listening to something or shitposting at Sup Forums.
Recently I bought Hyper Light Drifter and It's pretty good but I was little disappointed at the soundtrack. I was expecting some rocking chiptune music or something like in Furi.
I just listen to some podcasts while I play it.
Dark Souls invasions.
Isaac Rebirth is my go-to game for it.
I miss playing MMOs and mobile games, since it would encourage me to listen to tons of audiobooks to stave off the monotony. But it's really not worth it in the end. If you want to learn, you're better off just reading a book and giving it your full attention. And if you want to play video games, you're better of playing something that's actually fun. Multitasking is a meme.
You're a meme.
