What game has the best / most satisfying bow mechanics?
What game has the best / most satisfying bow mechanics?
Dragon's dogma
Hope you aren't going for realism
Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts
Is there a bow in that game? Pistols is all i could find.
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Makes you feel like a real Robin Hood, hunting down giant monsters and things.
Oh I'm retarded, I thought it was mechanics overall, not bow mechanics. I just woke up sorry lol.
Unironicly Crysis 2/3
>Bows that shoots arrows like sniper rifles
>Satisfying bow mechanics
Horizon had shit bow mechanics.
Stealth bow build in bethesda games have always been satisfying.
To some extent M&B has solid bow mechanics but wish it had better hitboxes when shooting someone who has a shield
...
Arrows literally go straight and sometimes curve sideways
Breath of the Wild, Dark Messiah M&M
Holy fuck just fucking kill yourself.
Sony kikes need to shoe horn in their faggotry at any chance even though its so obviously not true.
"Horizon Zero Dawn has the best car racing mechanics, trust me! Buy Sony TM! lol!"
Skyrim would have cool bow mechanics if the game had hitstop and shit.
Thief
Warframe has fun bows, especially since you can modify them in retarded ways.
This, for some reason really liked bows in DD.
>especially since you can modify them in retarded ways.
Explain.
Monster Hunter, pre durrrhurrrr everything is an anime fight move
definitly lara croft no ?
You can add various properties to them, and some of the bows ingame already have some unique properties to them initially.
Gas arrows, split arrows, exploding arrows, bleed arrows, what have you.
You can also modify their stats in stupid ways like ramping up their draw/fire speed to instane levels, or making them the slowest thing ever but with a punch comparable to an orbital bombardment
You can have them fire multiple arrows, make arrows that shred armor, one warframe lets you control arrows like the redeemer from Unreal Tournament, some bows fire 3 shots at a time, etc...
Warframe actually has pretty good bows, and they're not hitscan either so you actualy have to either take into acount the arrow drop and lead time, or mod it so the arrow velocity gets you a flatter, longer trajectory.
That sounds fucking cool
I honestly love the bow in FC4 the most. Dying Light has a pretty satisfying bow and crossbow too but it has a weird 'homing' effect to the arrows which sucks.
Give it a try if you want some dumb fun with your bows, but be prepared to be shouted at by your teammates for not using "flavour of the month rifle #4" because muh minmaxing
>weird 'homing' effect
Like auto-aim for console fps?
Kerillians Bows in Warhammer Vermintide are really cool.
...
Far cry 3 was the best (haven't played FC4).
Womb Raider felt pretty good up to the compound bow.
TLOU was pretty good.
Modded Skyrim is nice too.
Crysis 3 was ok, I don't like compound bows, they're too techy for my taste.
Sniper bows are the worst shit and anyone liking them should kill their opinion.
That's nice but i hope all that ballistic information and cutscenery can be toggled off.
Did Crysis 2 have a bow? If yes, then I need to play it again asap
This.
This, I've had too much fun with this thing to ever go back to any other primary
>shooting a bow while being prone
You some sort of indoorsman casual?
Nah, it isn't the aiming that homes in. The arrow itself, when you let it loose, sort of homes in on the target. Shooting with the reticule slightly next to the target's head still results in a headshot, for instance. It's weird and also doesn't happen all the time, so you at times I find myself unsure of where to plant my shot.
Wii Sports Resort
>no draw
>laughable falloff
>tracking
Even fucking Skyrim is better than HZD when it comes to bows.
But durrhurr everything is an anime fight move was the first time that bow was worth a shit
