Put AGI on 10 and LCK on 10 and you're gold. Don't forget STR.
OP here, why should I do this? Is this the most fun build to run?
5+int, 4-6+str, 10agi.
Don't pick Skilled. Probably don't pick Fast Shot for a first character.
Maxed Agi is pretty much a necessity in fallouts until you know how to play around lower agi gimping you massively.
Luck is alright I guess, I can see why people like it but I use it as a dump stat more often than not.
Savescum constantly because if you fuck things up it can ruin your entire run.
The waterchip is in the Boneyard.
Play New Vegas instead
10 AGI 9 INT 10 LCK
Tbh I never played any fallout before, I want to play every single game in the order
I say you should still give it a shot, if you aren't a fan of the retro feel to the game then try New Vegas.
Fallout 1 is the greatest isometric RPG ever, and the greatest RPG ever made after Oblivion.
Fallout 2 is garbage, Fallout 3 is pretty good, new vegas is fucking great and fallout 4 isn't a RPG.
That's all you need to know.
10 agility means you get 10 action points, which is enough to shoot most guns twice in one turn and more AP is just a huge boon for combat in general. 10 luck isn't that necessary in Fallout 1 though, it does get you the special encounters (one of which gives you one of the very best weapons in the whole game) and increases your crit chance, but that's mostly it. Especially since the Sniper perk is so incredibly hard to get, most people finish the game way before reaching the required level 21.
The 10mm pistol is actually a revolver.
minimum 4str for pistol, 5str for rifle if i'm not mistaken. you have the possibility to raise one point for each stats later in game for a price so if you dont' want to max to 10, just put 9 and later purchase upgrades
i finished the game recently with 1 Luck for my first build
Get gifted for an extra point in all the SPECIAL, compensate with high intelligence, and have at least 8 in agility
no it isn't
Take your time to explore.
Don't invest in useless skills.
Get good at scavenging.
Don't get between Ian and an enemy.
Most importantly have fun.
I always pick fast shot because with good agility you can get multiple shots out per turn. That and I never found myself using targetting.
sniper build or plasma build
fuck rpg codex
Most perks are worthless. Awareness, Toughness, More Criticals, and Quick Pockets are all you really need.
Take Gifted.
AGI/PER/INT/LUC are the better stats in this one. Charisma is particularly useless so just set it to 1. Set Luck to at least 6 to get some of the special random encounters on the world map.
The eyes are the best place to target if you can, can do high damage and cripple enemy aim.
Tag small guns and speech. Fallout 1 follows a progression of small guns at the start to energy weapons at the end, and you want more points in the weapons you'll be using early on.
Endgame: Use a radio on the computer consoles in the military base to get the codes for the area.
Oh and be sure to pick up Ian in Shady Sands, which is a little to the east of where you start out.
>Fallout 2 is garbage
Oh great, the contrarians are here. FO2 surpasses 1 in absolutely facet apart from atmosphere. And with the restoration patch it's even better.
Hfsd I never noticed this
>Fallout 2 is garbage
>Fallout 3 is pretty good
>He doesn't know about the second chip
I never noticed this
you walk past shady sands on the way to vault 15 which is the only place marked on your map
I always thought that was a laser sight holy shitto
>Fallout 1 is the greatest isometric RPG ever, and the greatest RPG ever made after Oblivion.
>the greatest RPG ever made after Oblivion.
>greatest RPG ever made after Oblivion.
>RPG ever made after Oblivion.
>ever made after Oblivion.
>made after Oblivion.
>after Oblivion.
>Oblivion.
Old fallout games are trash, Fallout only became good when 3 was made.
oh my god that perspective on the cylinder
what a hideous asset
Fuck off you memeloving fuck.
Fallout was great because it was tight. Like really tight and extremely deep. Fallout 2 isn't tight, and it doesn't work anymore. It's technically more of the same but without that tight feeling, it's not engaging, AT ALL.
t. never played oblivion
begone todd
What is this "tight"?
small scale with a lot of depth.
Game is short yes offers tons of possibilities and outcomes. You can finish the game 5 times in an afternoon and every time it feels different because of the depth.
Fallout 2 does have depth, but it's not tight anymore, it's big and it doesn't work well.
not that guy but i'm playing F2 and so far while i like everything i've seen,
i fucking hate the combats mostly because random encounter toss you a shit tons of enemies that you can't fight back and when you have enough companion to help they are dumb enough to shoot each other accidentally.
because of that i tried to dodge any fight when possible.
>Fallout 1 is the greatest isometric RPG ever, and the greatest RPG ever made after Oblivion
>Fallout 2 is garbage
>Fallout 3 is pretty good
This is some weird ass bait.
mind blown
GODDAMMIT TODD
I haven't noticed that apart from Enclave patrols, where you're absolutely fucked regardless of your level, gear and companions. Seriously, whose idea was it to have you repeatedly encounter 20 of the toughest enemies in the game?
How is it bait? Fallout 2 had as big as of a shitstorm that 3 had.
Besides, I agree with it, except for the Oblivion being good part.
10 agility
Keep track of exp and pop mentats before each level, because it increases the number of skill points you get
Energy weapons is complete shit at start, but makes the game an absolute joke near the halfway point because super mutants have no plasma/energy resistance. I always tagged small guns, speech, and energy weapons and didn't touch it until you find a plasma rifle
Have multiple save files, you can fuck yourself up pretty bad
Casual filter.
all these fucking years...
F2's combat is extremely stupid up front. Every time I want to replay the game, I think about the fucking chore the tutorial area is, and then having to deal with geckos for an hour, and then finally getting a fucking gun when you get to the den.
Also if you play Fallout 2, TAG LOCKPICKING. Holy fucking shit there's so much good stuff you can get early-on if you can just break into every house.
Crits are everything in FO1, therefore LCK is everything.
Seriously, crits are seriously broken in FO1.
Somewhere in the manual for FO1, it actually straight-up tells you to save scum. The fact that every turn is randomly seeded and the seed is reset on load is listed as a feature.
HOLY SHIT
There is literally nothing wrong with Save Scumming.
>Fallout 2 had as big as of a shitstorm that 3 had.
lol
Checkpoint save system is objectively superior.
Don't accidentally sell quest items and realize that long after.
Depends on the game.
>I'm blatantly underaged
NMAnchildren had a reputation long before FO3.
quicksaving removes any and all weight to any decision you can make in a game
it only works in strategy games
people were way more upset about the myriad of bugs than they were the references, at least at release.
The problem is how do you implement a checkpoint (or other similar) system in an open-world RPG?
keep telling yourself that
With designated save spots
thanks, i will, since i was around then to read the reviews
those literally become free money/gauss ammo once you get the power armor
Shit-ton of points in barter so you can get anything you want for free.
