Why ARE you getting this again? aren't you bored of playing on the same 48 tracks by now?
is it just for the portability? even so, still the same tracks.

Shit, 48 tracks is a lot.
I'll get a switch after Odissey launches(release or a few years later, who knows?), so I might buy all the good first parties that come out for it.
Portability, extra characters, slight graphics improvement, but mostly
BATTLE FUCKING FIXED, FINALLY
because the switch has no games aight
You're overestimating how many people played the Wii U version.
48 fucking tracks in one game?
Goddam I might have to get a switch now
>he bought a Wii U
I never had a WiiU
here we go senpie tatchi
I didn't buy any of the DLC, so its a good deal for me.
On top of that, I really enjoy Mario Kart. I think it's a ton of fun.
Also, I didn't realize there were 48 tracks. That's a lot, thanks for letting me know! Now I'm definitely gonna get it.
I didn't own a Wii U.
>implying I am
Someone I know is getting it so I have no reason to buy it.
I plan on waiting until Super Mario Odyssey releases to get a Switch, but if they do a Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle, that might tempt me into getting one earlier.
I didn't fall for the cuck trap that was the Wii U.
At least with the Switch I can do what the Wii U was supposed to be, but better.
I personally played the shit out of mk8, unlocked everything except that 10,000 coin bullshit.
There is no reason for me to get it other than to play as an inkling or for battlemode. They're not worth buying the game again, but I bet a lot of people will repurchase just because they're ninten drones
Putting the emphasis on "are" is really strange. I can't figure out how you wanted me to read this or what you were trying to say with it.
I think the bundle is out Friday
This
I didn't have a WiiU, so this will be my first time.
I'm actually not a huge MK fan, I'm just buying it so I have literally anything on my switch besides BOTW.
I have a Switch and I'm not getting it. Had it on the Wii U and bought the DLC, so no reason. If I hadn't bought the DLC, I'd probably get it though.
That being said, I know people with a Switch who didn't have a Wii U, so will play local multiplayer with them.
If when Smash Bros Wii U is ported to the Switch including all DLC, I'll get that though...
Nah, the tracks are a pretty damn good selection, so I'm not bored. I'm getting it because I didn't get to play the one on WiiU locally very often. Wiimotes were a pain in the ass to setup, I didn't get the pro controllers, I only had 1 nunchuck, and then there's all the batteries. I could achieve 4 players, but it was too much of a hassle and at least 2 people would be stuck using sideways wiimotes which meant B and A in their awkward positions would have to get used to do important things.
I have a second set of joycons and the joycons have a proper distribution of buttons to work as fully functional controllers with rechargeable batteries. I can finally set this up inbetween boardgames at my house without going through a shit ton of trouble. Also battle mode is great.
>Someone I know is getting it so I have no reason to buy it.
And now you realize why splitscreen is all but gone on non-Nintendo consoles
I have 2 other friends I would like to play this online with, and a little brother back at home that would join us.
Who are the extra chars
I've never played it before because fuck the Wii U. So this here is a fucking steal for newcomers like me.
I don't have a Wii U so I'm hyped.
I'm getting Puyo Puyo Tetris and Mario Kart this week! Long live local multiplayer!
Battlemode being 'fixed', despite Battle never being good, doesn't make up for the removal of firehopping and some inane and arbitrary stat adjustments.
Hell, the ability to turn on/off specific items, instead of it being all or nothing, would be more important. Battle is a distraction that everyone gets bored of before eventually turning off the game to play some Smash or go to bed.
Never had a Pii U, senpai. Glad I can play this on a conse that doesn't completely suck dick.
>SSB4
>Ported to the Switch
Stop with this delusion
*console
>"Battle" never being good
>bitching about the removal of Firehopping, the fucking exploit
Go play another game, or better yet, leave this fucking hobby, and take your shit taste with you.
You fell for bait.
I'm entirely right. Battle was never good, not since Super Mario Kart. It's always been lame. The real fun is the racing. Which got gimped.
Not that it's bad, because MK8 is leagues ahead of all the other Mario Karts, even without Fire Hopping, but still, removing techs and options is almost always a bad thing.
I love how no one gave a shit about firehopping and even complained about how it made heavy characters the only legitimate characters, until they could complain about it being gone. It even got replaced with something legitimate to make up for it's loss but nope, fuckin nintendo removing mah exploits!
King boo, Bowser jr, dry bones, inklings, and sadly gold Mario. Considering u rely wanted those top 4.
Two different groups of people, faggot. I loved firehopping. It added options, it made heavies viable with items turned on, and it made certain courses, like Bone Dry Dunes, that would've otherwise had 0 good things about them, interesting to play because it gave people with bad turning leverage.
And no, an extra tier on drifting does not make up for it. But what could I expect from someone who actually likes the worst Pokemon games to date?
No, I know people IRL that have this shit opinion.
MK64, DD, Wii, 8, even DS, it's all been fine to varying degrees. It's a mode for fun, first of all. Additionally, the only severe complaints ever about it would be No Battle Royale (which MK8D appears to have screwed up, not sure), and other such customization options. Otherwise, Battle has been the best part of recent Mario Karts.
And yes, removing fucking exploits is a good thing just on the face of it, but furthermore, this is primarily enjoyed as a party game usually with a room full of people with varying skill levels. Balance aside, that is not the environment for secret tricks that only the people without a life (myself included in that) know. Additionally, unintuitive things like jumping into turns for the drift boost probably ought to be removed, too.
Good riddance to Firehopping.
God I hate typing on my phone.
Nintendo can fix those things without the need of an exploit, you know.
this would be the first time i buy it
You sure you want to know?
Alright buddy, here it comes
>on a handheld hybrid, can play any way you want
>now in native 1080p60fps on TV instead of 720p upscaled like on the WiiU, even in 2 player mode
>improved shadows in multiplayer mode
>reduced loading times compared to WiiU
>can now hold two items instead of just one, no more only getting a single lame coin
>karts, bikes and the parts etc. all rebalanced to slightly nerf heavies and make other options more viable (lights, bikes and so on)
>purple boosting stage added to make up for fixed fire hopping exploit
>full on proper battle mode with multiple new game modes added and several completely new arena tracks
>all DLC included from the start, no more split online or problems of only ever playing on basic or dlc maps, all maps weighed equally now and accessible by all
>new characters, mii costumes, new karts, new parts (unlock Gold Mario for beating all 200cc cups)
>new items (feather and boo)
>can now change your character and kart online while in a lobby between the races instead of having to back out completely
For all of those reasons combined.
>It added options
Not it didn't. Just like a map exploits, all it adds is knowledge of a glitch you could use against others. There's no reason to NOT do it if you can. And no it didn't make them viable options, it made them the ONLY viable options.
They didn't, though. Hell, they could've nerfed firehopping while making it legitimate and I'd still have been fine.
>not having a pillhead ex that sold all of your vidya so you have to re-buy ports and remakes on later systems
Bruh do you even life?
I never got the DLC.
/thread, OP annihilated
Time Trials suffer the worst out of all this. Nintendo fans are so quick to defend their company's decisions. Even GF gets the flak they deserve for their 2 gens worth of let downs even though thry do still sell.
Literally week after week of MK8 on Sup Forums no one complained and accepted the game as it was even though we could see it was flawed in a lot of ways. Sometimes I feel like marketing places propaganda posters to make sipping the kool-aid easier. Saw this exact same shit with the Brood War update where the community did a 180 on their attitude to Blizzard like an abused housewife.
Firehopping being gone is good
It made heavies in karts way too strong
>MUH EXCUSE
What you used the exploit to shittily "fix," breaks other things. Two wrongs don't make a goddamn right, how many times do I have to say this?
>But what could I expect from someone who actually likes the worst Pokemon games to date?
that's like saying i'm a basketball fan because i posted this image.
the switch and its few games have been a pure gold mine of triggerings so far
Makes me wonder why the hell I'm on this board.
>removal of firehopping
I was on the fence about this one, but this one tipped me over the edge. Picking this up on day one.
Friends don't play MK8 anymore and I'm getting it free with a discount + store credit. Capitalism is dece+.
Don't forget that they also rebalanced all stats of all karts / parts and such to make the game more balanced, previously lights and bikes were in a rough spot
You realize that's not free, right? You could spend that store credit on a better game.
>made heavies viable with items turned on
WTF heavies are the best in the game, how bad do you suck
I have over 200 burgers in store credit, I can blow some to play with Switch friends who never bought a Wii U. I just got Nioh and Nier so It's not like I'm missing out much on high quality releases.
Heavies are the best in 150cc, this goes without question, what are you smoking?
Time trials are 200cc now, fire hopping is irrelevant. No one wants to race against Morton in a Blue Falcon anymore.
Not him, but the Gamestop bonus for Mario Kart 8's Wii U version, combined with their general promotion for trading toward Switch games and accessories, more than halfway covered the cost starting out of the gate.
I now have 150 Burgeridoos in store credit.
Guess I'll get accessories and the like. No need for games since the wife has Amazon Prime and uses it for EVERYTHING.
The only reason I get it is because it's 1080p now instead of 720p. Makes a big difference on my 120" projector screen. :^)
>Calling exploits techs
I already have the WiiU-version, so nope, I won't get
altough, Inkling and "fixed" battlemode sounds like it is worth...
Sure is
youtube.com
I bet you're too shit to wave dash.
This. Why is everybody on this website always so angry? I don't get it honestly.
Still undecided. Never had a WiiU, only played 8 with friends. It was good fun, but mainly with 4 people. Dont really want to drop $60 for the game then shortly after find out its only something I play splitscreen with friends and have to drop another $80 for more joycons.
But at the same time I want something new for the switch.
Decisions decisions.
I'm not. I've accepted that my switch is useless until Splatoon. I guess it would be a good purchase for someone who never played MK8 on wii u though.
Because it's been too long since an actual, GOOD videogame.
I can only pray that Sonic Mania and Super Mario Odyssey aren't fuckups.
