I didn't care for its original arcade release, as it felt way too much like a rehash of 6, but with super moves added. Then Fated Retribution came in, polished it up, and added Akuma, and now I can't wait.

I'm trying to be optimistic but 6 was such a letdown it's hard to have hope.

You know what gets me hype as fuck? Not announcing whether or not it has legacy drivers.

Are companies just not allowed to say they're using them? Nobody knew Revelator had it until the demo, nobody knew KoF14 had it until it was out, nobody knew GV had it until the beta, etc.

The game's soundtrack is nothing but dubstep. Fuck that.

But I got a GTX660, I doubt it'll be able to run at a stable frame rate.

The minimum requirements are a 660 on PC. You probably won't be able to play at 1080p or make the game look pretty, but you should be able to run it full speed no problem.

Jin was only the "hero" in 4 though. In 3 he basically just survived being the victim, in 5 he beats everyone up but then pulls a Kazuya, which you see the fruits of in 6.

It's still all Heihachi's fault though. It's one thing being a power hungry madman who loves attacking his family but he's not even good at it.

I played so much Tekken from 3 on, that they would have to reinvent the wheel for me to come back at this point. I feel like I've been playing the same game since 4 at this point.

T1: Kazuya
T2: Jun
T3: Paul but gets overshadowed by Jin
T4: Only legitimate time Jin is a hero
T5: Asuka & everybody else non Mishima

T6: Faggot Lars, but real he didn't get the job done and owes the credit to everyone especially Lee

T7: Up for debate

Jin had the exact same role in T5 as what Kazuya did in T1 though. Defeats everyone of note and then reveals ulterior motive/personality right at the end. Also Asuka didn't do shit.

Same. Tekken 7.0 felt like an update to Tag 2 solo sans Tag Mechanics and Rage Mechanics implemented in. But now with Fated Retribution and the console version, I'm hyped for a game. I haven't been this hype for a game in general since Tatsunoko vs Capcom UAS

Kazuya loses all the time though. Also in fairness to T3 Jin he's just more inherantly tied to the plot, Heihachi lured/awakened Ogre using Jin and all.

Coming from someone who likes Paul, I dunno why people here complain about him being a "joke character", because not only is the story a complete mess anyway, ontop of his antics with Law (and Steve for a while) way more memorable than his serious persona in general, his moveset is not "joke character"-y at all.

Was undefeated pre Tekken 1. With the exception to drawing with Paul in some tourney.

In Tekken 1 single handedly defeats anyone who got in his way. Including Lee, his so called "rival" Beats the shit out of Heihachi. Tosses him off the ravine.

Tekken 2: He stomps out nearly all his face him. "Fights" Jun. Then, he got all shook because Heihachi shows up outta nowhere. Loss 1. To Heihachi.
Transforms into Devil to lose again.

Tekken 4: He makes it all the way to the final round. Then he "loses" to Heihachi
Only to go to Honmaru. Then he loses to Jin.

Tekken 5: He wins like the first 4 rounds but then proceeds to fuck off and seize G Corp. Doesn't lose here.

Tekken 6: Well there wasn't a "real tourney" but the only person he "loses" to is Lars

So far, he still has a pretty good win- loss in my book

I hate how every hit has those stupid audio and visual effects. The sound and look so cheap.

PS4 version has some exclusive legacy costumes. You can probably just mod them in on PC though if you really care.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

Didn't mind where they went with Paul in 4. Yeah he botched the end of the previous tournament and all and was upset about it, but by the end he didn't really care as long as he can still fight and shit.

After 5 the story in general went to hell though.

They're the same sound effects from the early games. VF does it too, not sure what other fighters do it if at all. It's strange to me as well but most people don't seem to mind I've noticed.

Correction: Kazuya loses to MISHIMA's. Kazuya canon stomps ALL of the rest of the competish. The Mishima's are all GOAT tier, even out of thier own series, in SFxTekken Kazuya rekt all over Ryu and then handled both Ryu and Ken at the same time. Now only Akuma is capable of ending the bloodline.

Make no mistake, kazuya might be the runt of the litter, an actual underdog, but he still carries Mishima blood.

They typically do not. However it absolutely will show when you have bottom tier vs top (see Alex/Roger vs Bob/Jinpachi Tag 2). Not so much in-between though but if you see a Chloe bop a Dragunov (currently S-rank) then they just got outplayed.
