So I just finished reading Higurashi

So I just finished reading Higurashi

What's Sup Forums's general opinion on this series?

I want to rape Rika endlessly.

I want to fug Rena.

Did you use original CG?

Occasionally I'd switch back to it when they popped in a new character

I can't take it seriously when they look that way and this VN is as serious as homicide.

Why can't Rika just order her ghost to follow Tomitake and Takano in the night of Watanagashi to see what really happen to them that night? What are she doing for 500 year?

I have a friend who's reading Umineko for the first time and she does this, too. She'll swap to the original sprites every now and then. One time she did it on accident when she was trying to look at the original Japanese text and the sudden derpy Rudolf startled her.

Having only watched the anime, I can say I quite enjoyed the mystery, build up of characters and payoffs that resulted by the end of the 1st season leading up to the satisfying story telling of the 2nd season.

Also Akasaka was pretty awesome and I like how he was used in the finale.

The only mystery that didn't make sense was the fake death of Takano Miyo.

Who was phone?

Ayyy, it's my favorite, OP

She used her Yamainu connections to replace her dental records

Should this show/game have ended after the first arc?

The definitive ending arc was fucking terrible.

neo/v/ thinks >VNs >Games

I personally loved how it started as a creepy mystery and just kept building with each chapter. Absolute masterpiece (though parts of it did drag on a bit)

I want to fuck Hanyuu!

Ah that makes alot of sense.

I'm considering reading the Umineko VN (since I hear the anime for that one is extremely DEEN in quality).

How's the writing, music and voice acting in that?

Anyone know?

I was actually thinking that too

Especially in the 7th book when you know for sure he's about to die imminently man what the fuck.

Reminder that the console only arcs are now being translated.

I'm the op

I just started 11 days ago and read the ones on steam

I refused to wait so I just obtained the older versions because I neededclosure and fuck patience.

The translation quality is a bit shoddy by comparison but it beats not knowing.

The mystery and sheer tension are second to none, they realy make you care for the characters before putting them in awful situations, but the ending where a highly coordinated team of mercs gets rekt by 16-year olds with kindergarten traps was pants-on-head retarded

Saw the anime like 9 years ago on Youtube, back when it was still a relatively viable option for watching anime. I loved Higurashi, and it sort of served as my gateway to being interested in series beyond whatever Toonami showed. It'll always have a place in my heart, and I even tolerate the OVA stuff that's come out for it since then. I've never read the VNs though, and if my attempt at reading Umineko was anything to go by, I probably never will. I just don't have it in me to play a VN with no player input.

I've heard people question that before. I think you just have to chalk it up to suspension of disbelief there. Or whatever a more appropriate saying would be. She didn't do it because that would've ruined the mystery.

>16-year olds with kindergarten traps was pants-on-head retarded
You neglect the fact that they were also being helped by adults and a little girl who has the knowledge of many years of experience.

That kind of thing worked in episodes 6 and 7, episode 8 was just too rushed.

Great game
