So i has been realy interested in persona 5, and i won't be able to get a ps4 until september. but i got an offer to get the game for about 15 bucks for my ps3, is it worth or should i wait, also there are a really noticeable difference like in Shadow of Mordor?
Persona 5 on ps3, Worth?

I heard that the PS3 version is fine, but honestly $15 is a great price for such a new game that'd I go for it anyway
bump because I'm in a similar situation
>$15
How?
Don't ask me, OP's the one who got that offer
I'm considering this too. I don't feel like buying a ps4 for this game, especially when it is on ps3 which I already have.
I don't have ps4 for comparison but it's great so far. Even if there were graphical differences it wouldn't matter much with the art style of the game. It's the gameplay and waifu that matter.
DF said it has screen-tearing out the ass, but otherwise fine.
I have the PS4 version but, my friend has the PS3 version and besides the 720p resolution, a little longer load times and very occasional FPS drops it's a very solid version of P5 I would say it's worth it if you just have a PS3.
Thanks. I'll probably get it now that I know the difference.
Longer loading times is the main notable difference, there's some frame drops in some parts of the city but is not like it matters much when it happens.
Is the gameplay/story good in this game?
It's not just waifu cringe stuff right?
The waifu part is the whole appeal of these games.
The waifu stuff is optional but, you need to interact with the characters if you want your Personas to be stronger.
Screen tearing right in the center happens way too frequently. Extremely distracting. I think Atlus just said fuck it, put priority on the PS4 version.
I mean, is the only reason to play this game waifu shit?
Is this game actually amazing as a video game?
I've seen much praise thrown at it, so I'm wondering
Might pick it up
the waifushit is completely integrated with the gameplay, unless you want to run around with shit skills and shit personas, you have to do the waifushit.
Some characters are cool though, but you can0t just play this without doing the graphic novel stuff.
Game is fun. If you don't like the waifu shit, you can choose to ignore it entirely. Game itself is pretty much half pokemon half highschool student simulator, a very stylish and well polished one at that.
I'm not saying I mind waifu shit, but if that is most of the game or the only thing the game has, then I'm not interested
If it's just a part of the game, that's cool by me
It's the quality of the package which interests me the most
I've only played P3 so far, but half of the game is a life sim/time management thing were you need to create and improve social links with friends, and the other half if a dungeon crawler with SMT's press turn based RPG combat system
I'm enjoying the combat in P3, and P4 and P5 only improved 3's unpolished battle system, so I'd assume P5 is great
The primary element of combat is turn-based. You might find a lot of similarities with Pokemon, to be quite honest, although they aren't identical. Social Linking with people gives you more possible Personas, as well as stronger potential fusions, and in 5 more than the rest of the series, most interactions give you more features and other bonuses. Waifuing people is an option, but it's not necessary by any means, and you earnestly can slide by most of the game without ever engaging it, and you get a very clearly defined "Is this muh waifu" option while Social Linking, which you can decline and still get maximum benefits.
There's a very long, Visual Novel-esque story, and at times it can be a bit overwhelming, but the majority of the game's focus is on High School shenanigans mixed with interdimensional heart-stealing. Very little of it is about romance or "Isn't X girl cute? CUTE?".
If you're really just uninterested in the characters and plot, you can just press start and skip through dialogue.
Most social links are secondary to the story and are really just for character growth.
The game would probably be the exact same on the PS3 it does not look very good and there are atrocious pop ins on PS4 anyway, like when you go to watch a movie and you're in an empty theater but people start popping in one at a time until the entire theater is full.
Sounds good
Thx for non shitpost replies guys
PCfag who hasn't touched my PS3 since the letterboxing and frame rate on Dragon's Dogma classic made me nauseous. I've been playing it on PS3.
It's totally worth it if you don't have a PS4. I'm shocked at how not offended I am by the quality.
>$15
Persona 5 is absolutely worth $15, you'd be crazy not to go for that
