What's your first, favourite and latest DBZ game? Do you like DBZ games in general?
I'll start: first one was DBZ:Sagas, favourite is either Budokai 1 or Budokai Tenkaichi 2, latest is Xenoverse 1

The first one I played, I think, was Budokai 1.
Favorite is definitely BT3, which is also the most recent one I've played.
Some are fun, and some are pretty bad. None of them stand out to me as anything really good, but there's definitely a few that keep me coming back.
I myself have played pretty much every DBZ game since PS2 era, and they were a big part of my childhood. They're not the best as fighting games, but DBZ games are pretty fun to play
>First.
Budokai 1. It's the earliest one I can remember playing.
>Favorite
That's a hard thing to say. I still think Attack of the Sayans is one the best DBZ games I ever played however. So that. Maybe Budokai 3 too. I played the ever living fuck out of it when it was new.
>latest
XV1. Yeah I know I haven't play 2.
>Do you like DBZ games in general?
For the most part yeah. I enjoyed most of the DBZ games I've played over the years.
I loved the fact that you could use a password and get your Budokai 3 character in Tenkaichi
That was pretty neat. I remember actually doing the passwords a few times.
>tfw first was Final Bout
Sure, it was GT shit and the game was complete ass, but that opening was pretty cool

I did it once to try it out, and it was really cool you could do that

I mean, I would go emulate some older ones but I'd have to get tired of XV2 first and the latest DLC just rolled around so..
DBGT for ps1
My favourite DBZ game opening is still Budokai 2

First: DBZ Legends (PS1), I think that's how it was called but since it was in Chinese/Japanese and bought it in a Trilogy, never knew if it really was.
Favorite: Between Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3, prolly both in the same position.
Latest played: Dragon Ball (Kai) Ultimate Butouden for Nintendo DS. Back then I thought it would be improved upon through sequels on the 3DS, but it seems like they completely forgot about it.. such a damn shame and waste.
Do I like DBZ Games? Yeah, as much as I like any videogame based on an anime that I liked at some point of my life.
>First
I don´t remember, probably Legends or Ultimate Battle 22
>Favourite
Tenkaichi 2/Tenkaichi3/Tenkaichi Tag Team
>Last
Xenoverse 2
>Do you like DBZ games in general?
I love DBZ in general
Reminder to main Krillin in every DB game.
First was Ultimate Battle 22, favourite was Super Dragon Ball Z, and latest was Extreme Butoden.
The 'DBZ simulator' games (Sparking/Tenkaichi, Raging Blast, and Xenoverse) tend to bore me, despite being overly complex control wise, they never seem to accomplish much game play wise. I wish the series would ground itself a little again. I miss games like Advance Adventure, and would love a sequel to Burst Limit.
...
I liked BT2 more than 3, because it had way more single player content
Burst Limit was nice
Budokai 1
Budokai 3
Xenoverse 2
I'm becoming rather wary of DBZ games as much as I enjoy them. I'm just going to start waiting for the inevitable third of each type like I do for fighting games.
Hell, I'm still waiting for Blazblue to calm its tits so I can buy a Blazblue that will have everything it will ever have,
That's a valid outlook and I thought about including that in the chart somehow but I didn't figure it was worth the effort.
Not gonna lie. I always liked the first Supersonic warriors more then the second.
3 was great in that it had so many characters, but too little single player content to utilize those characters
And yeah not really worth the effort to put it in the meme
BEST TRADITIONAL FIGHTING GAMES
Budokai 3/ Infinite World
BEST DBZ SIMS
Tenkaichi 3/ Raging Blast 2
BEST RPGS
Buus Fury / Dragon Ball Fusions
BEST WHAT IF SCENARIOS
Budokai 2/ Tenkaichi 2
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Dragon Ball Origins/ Tenkaichi Tag Team
>someones first experience with DBZ games was Xenoverse
Well at least you didn't start with literally the worst DBZ game of all time like OP did.
>BEST TRADITIONAL FIGHTING GAMES
>Budokai 3/ Infinite World
The only DBZ game that's a traditional fighter is Super DBZ.
If you wanna count the casualized one, then Burst limit is on par with budokai 3 and infinite world.
>BEST WHAT IF SCENARIOS
>Budokai 2/ Tenkaichi 2
Nah nigga, supersonic warriors 2's what-ifs take the cake easy.
>First
SNES - Super Saiya Densetsu DBZ RPG game where you used cards to attack. Wasnt translated fully, but damn was it fun. I remember there was a hidden super vegeta boss at the end.

Same.

Besides emulating those Japan exclusive Super Nintendo games, Budokai 1.

Either Budokai 3 or Super DBZ. I fucking can't get into Tenkaichi's gameplay. Budokai just feels alot better. And Super DBZ feels like a traditional fighting game, like if it was made by Capcom or SNK or someone.
If you want to get all technical about it just think of it as BEST 2D FIGHTER instead. It really isn't fair to compare those games to the tenkaichi games.
Seeing Frieza and Cell become Majinized was cool as fuck, not to mention Super Buu absorbing each one of them and gaining new transformations. Tiencha and Gokule was also amusing.
and Tenkaichi 2 still has to this day one of my favorite what if scenarios where Raditz gains amnesia upon crash landing to earth.
At least Ultimate Tenkaichi is pretty to look at. Fuck Sagas, so much ruined potential.
Samefag here, scratch Budokai 1 being my first.
I think I actually had Legacy of Goku on GBA before I got Budokai. Cause I had the GC version of Budokai, not the PS2 version.
>like if it was made by Capcom or SNK or someone.
It was.
>like if it was made by Capcom or SNK or someone.
Well...you're not wrong. Arika worked on it and they made the Street fighter EX games. The producer was a also a former capcom employee.
At least Sagas has gameplay, and is especially fun when playing co-op, UT's gameplay is rock/paper/scissors
That Raditz what-if scenario from BT2 gave me the feels in its ending
>actually defending the pile of shit that is Sagas
I know it was your first game but come on OP, nostalgia is clouding your mind, and the "fun with friends" argument is a baseless one as even the lowest quality of trash can be "fun with friends"
and before you say anything, I think UT is garbage too, but if I was forced to pick between the two I would pick UT because it would be a far shorter experience to endure.
Tenkaichi fans:
How does someone get into Tenkaichi if they prefer Budokai? Like, everytime I try to get into it, the gameplay just feels like pure ass.
First would either be Budokai 2 or Legacy of Goku 2.
Latest is Xenoverse 2
Favorite is Raging Blast 2 or Tenkaichi 3 cause Devil Man.
DBZ games are great, hope the next Xenoverse game is a huge improvement over the current ones. Spike would be fun to play as well. Make Salza Blade great again.
>that shockwave game, you know the one
>tb3
>dragonball online global
Last game I played was Fusions. I really liked it as a Dragón Ball GT fan. Pan reactions to Great Saiyaman 1 & 2 and to Future Trunks being arrested as a criminal by Jaco were hilarious.
Imagine how screwed the universe is in that timeline though.
Without the saiyans arriving to kill Goku and his friends, Goku never learns the Kaioken, Vegeta never becomes a good guy, and without any reason to travel to Namek, Frieza gains immortality from the Dragon Balls unopposed.
It would only be a matter of time before he shows up to destroy planet earth, and no one would stand a chance against him.
I'm not saying it's a good game, but it's not *that* bad either
That would be pretty interesting to know how that timeline would go
>shockwave game
The one on Cartoon Network's website? That, for some reason, had an instrumental version of Sisqo's "Thong Song" as the background music?
speaking of alternate timelines, you should play Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai Another Road if you haven't already.
It shows what happens in Future Trunks' timeline when Babidi arrives to resurrect Majin Buu.
I do actually have that game, and I played it years ago, but I got stuck on the Broly level and haven't played it in ages. The story that game has is pretty interesting, and it's great for a PSP game
>We will never get Budokai Tenkaichi HD with proper online
Bald God is pretty fun in Extreme Butoden.
>The amount of bullshit you had to go through in that game to unlock SS4 Goku and Majin Vegeta
Fun game, though. The closure we got for Gohan I'm that game is way nicer than what Super gave us
