What do you guys think about the kickstarted System Shock remake? Just watched their alpha trailer:

Looks pretty good for alpha desu.

[spolier] I haven't played the original or its sequel. No bully. [/spoiler]

Go play the orginals, fag

Also preordered for $50 it better be good

It looked good at that time. I don't like that it feels like SS2 now.

I just refunded Outlast 2, the battery hunting simulator, and was already intending to purchase both SS1 and SS2 to replace the shitty taste in my mouth.

Play 2 first, then 1 but only if you're ready for 1994 graphics

Am I going to miss out on the story at all if I don't play 1? I can put up with 1994 if it'll make 2 more enjoyable after the fact.

Wasn't Syst3m Sh3ck meant to be something else entirely and a bunch of the backers are mad their money got used for something they didn't back for?

>ok cool a system shock remake
>its system shock 1 not 2
pass

You don't need to play SS1 unless you want the full context of story, SS2 calls back to SS1 alot but will generally give you the gist of it anyway.

What is this console aiming?

Pretty sure that a System Shock remake and System Shock 3 are both in development.

Actually played through SS2 for the first time sometime last year.
Was fucking amazing. Wish there were modern games with the level of atmosphere and competent voice-acting that was put into that game.
>THEY HAVE GIFTED ME WITH TWO CRYSTALS.
>THEY'RE FRAGILE BUT OH SO VERY SHARP.
>These are the cunts that review (and therefore are the 'ones in the know') of vidya.
>Can't even fucking shoot straight.
When did the who's-who of vidya get filled with fucks that DON'T PLAY VIDYA?

>When did the who's-who of vidya get filled with fucks that DON'T PLAY VIDYA?
When every industry gets big business, gets filled with generic corporates people, who are too busy playing friendly with eachother and making connections and other stupid shit to actually get invested in to their industry and really get to know it.

the alpha was really cool, but when they switched to unreal engine it looked very generic and didn't feel like SS1 any more. Not sure what happened. It was a different area.

It will be a shitty nostalga cash grab.

I actually don't think so. You can tell the guy in charge is a real fan

it will be an insult to the original System Shock, but because most people didn't play System Shock they'll start to love it

like fallout 3? that would be the worst

You gays didn't play the alpha demo?

the alpha demo ran on unity.
they switched to unreal 4 a few months after that.
can imagine it feels slightly different now.

I played SS2 but not SS1, not even the remastered version of it

I'm looking forward to the game but I wouldn't dare call myself a real SS fan
