"If you kill me.. you'll be no better.."

>"If you kill me.. you'll be no better.."

poor sad cato with a guno

>villain gets trounced over and over
>its all part of my keikaku

Why doesn't batman just kill the joker?

I want to be worse than you

cause batman secretly enjoys all the chaos he brings

because "it's a slippery slope xd"

More importantly why can't the law just execute villains like the Joker?

>vows to never kill
>beats to a bloody pulp until theyre comatose instead
he might as well cross the line honestly

Huh, I guess you're right.

Because comic book superheroes are a terrible source of morality

it's not really batman's responsibility to kill him

blame gotham's retarded political system for not just executing him by now

Aren't I supposed to be the hero? Why should I care about being "better", I do it so others don't have to.

because comics need to be sold on a monthly basis from now until the end of time

LIN DOES NOT GIVE A SINGLE SOLITARY FUCK

>no, if i kill you i'll be no better
>proceeds to kill 50 people during the escape

>Character is willing to kill anyone he has to if it means protecting the one person he actually cares about
>Without realising how much he's hurting that person in the process

No i'm much worse.

Not like killing him will do good he'll just come back in like a year.

>camera pulls back to reveal you intentionally missed

Wasn't there a scene in one of the Call of Juarez games where they try to talk him down but he just doesn't give a shit?0

Name one (1) game that makes a side character a broken and guilty mess because of my actions

Dragon's Doggos

Mix of wont be able to stop killing and someone worse will fill the missing gap.

>"If you die, I'll never forgive you!"

>you were the true villain in the end
>you are the final boss
>there's only one way to beat the boss

Cause Joker brings in sales. Batman would totally kill if they could easily keep making new villians

>"If you kill me then I'll die."

because capes would just bust in and stop them because "muh morals"

Something something if you kill a killer the number of killers in the world remain unchanged.

>Batman doesn't kill the Joker
>dozens are brutally murdered and thousands more could be in danger at any second

Gee wiz, thanks for protecting us batman.

B A S E D

IIRC Advanced Wars Days of Ruin had a character who just shrugged her shoulders and said "Ok lol" and shot the villain in the fucking face when he tried pulling that bullshit

Best girl

>That transparent, shameless attempt at begging for your life

You're already gonna die dude, don't die like a bitch

Publisher rules. Any other explanation is a poor attempt to justify that.

Umm...
why does it shoot but the bullet flies off from the top what a shit gun lol

I love when shit like this happens

>"if you kill your enemies, they win"

>be a soldier at 20 years old in the Yugoslav wars
>pilot for the army, only thing I'm good at
>chilling off duty in my village
>surrounded by the enemy, watch all but two of my childhood friends get their throats slit and their hands chopped off and their desacrated corpses thrown into a mass grave
>have to revisit the mass grave later to identify the bodies and see who else survived
>realize someone betrayed us and told the enemy where to find us
>traumatized for life and get PTSD
>cousin who served with me moves to america
>while he's gone, his mother is raped and then burned alive
>tell him she died in a house fire to spare his feelings
>take up work smuggling people from the Balkans to Italy, it pays alright I guess
>one day ship sinks and I'm the only survivor
>guy who owned the boat is a very powerful man and wants me dead
>cousin writes me wild emails about his life in america, figure I'll go there
>get there and he's forgotten our home language and owns a shitty cab depot
>want to find the two survivors already but get sidetracked trying to keep me and my cousin afloat
>cousin gets cucked by his loan shark so I sort it out
>we get almost killed by the loan sharks boss so I sort it out
>boss goes crazy so I sort it out
>the man who owned the ship I worked on finds me so I get the fuck out of dodge with my cousin, who loses everything but me and his girlfriend
>do work around the city trying to use my new connections as a hitman to find the other survivors
>my girlfriend turns out to be an undercover cop and dumps me
>finally get some mafia fucker to lead me to one of the survivors
>hes now a flamboyant queer but has otherwise moved on with his life
>sort his problems out and work with the FBI trying to find the guy I now know ruined my life
>they find the fucker in Budapest and bring him to me
>after over a decade of work the bastard who ruined my life is kneeling in front of me, tells me he did it for 1000 fucking dollars
>let him live and go home
>mfw

To me it's because Batman is obsessed with not letting anyone die ever as a result of his childhood trauma watching his parents getting shot. To batman guns are evil, killing is evil and crime is evil because they took his parents away from him. It's not rational, it's an obsession. It's not about how precious human life is since he'll gladly cripple a criminal for the rest of his life.

>"if you kill your enemies, they die"

>cut to black screen
>gunshot sound
>credits start

What a manbaby. I thought he was smart enough to realise that him refusing to kill people like the Joker has indirectly harmed and killed other innocent people.

>breaking bad
>jack tries to use the money to get Walt to let him live
>while he's in the middle of talking Walt shoots him and blood splatters the screen
>mfw

Batman is basically a very rich kid's lack of therapy.

It would be cool if while Batman was passing the joker to an officer, the cop just loses it and guns down joker in cold blood

but if you kill two, the number is reduced by 1

he's just as crazy as joker if you haven't noticed

The fact that Sup Forums is still so fucking dense that they can't understand basic moral concepts like capital punishment and what it means to take another human being's life leaves me baffled. It's like watching a mentally stunted child fail to grasp something and leads me to believe this is a board of teenagers.

not if I was already a killer before

Why doesn't user just stop sucking dick?

>either Batman and Superman don't kill and let murders go free to enact more killings
>or they becomes extreme totalitarian dicks who kill people on a whim and are the greatest threats to humanity
>there's no middle ground

Hate this meme.

So what does it mean to take another human's being life?

Well that's why the 90s cartoon is the peak version for many people.
The finale of the BTAS veiled behind the Batman Beyond has him laughing his ass off that's Batman is at his core, a giant manchild perfected to a modern knight purely by money and angst.
But the system in Gotham doesn't work.
No one is gonna call Batman a murderer if he shoves him in a grinder and burns the big parts.

>hmm maybe they'll execute the joker this time
>nope he's back in prison and he's escaped and killed 5 people again
>oh well, back to leaving him to the hands of the "justice" system for the 6th time, which I already know is corrupted

Some """"hero""""

The thing is that it's morality that is valid in the real world being applied in comic book world where there are super villains that keep coming back. I guess they sometimes want to push Bat's beliefs, but either most people don't understand this, or villains have become so unstoppable that it's completely idiotic.

When you take someone's life you snuff them out. They go away. You end everything that they ever were, everything that they are, and anything they could ever possibly be in that moment. And then you live the rest of your life wondering if the moment after would have been the one where they decided to make a change, if they would have at least sought redemption or forgiveness of any sort before it ended. You'll wonder about the nature of the soul and if you kicked that person onto an exit ramp straight to Hell, barring that you'll just wonder if they felt or thought anything at all or if consciousness of any sort remained after. Taking someone else's life isn't something you just "do" and it's why even when taking the lives of bad people, you have soldiers and executioners and others who suffer severe mental trauma over performing such an act. No matter who you're killing, it'll infect you as a person and shake up your whole moral compass and how you look at life. Also as far as I can tell, the comics now feature Lex Luthor as a tried-and-true member of the Justice League making up for the shit he's done in the past. Stuff like that would be off the table if they straight killed him.

>does kill joker = he kills a person
>doesn't kill joker = indirectly kills dozens and harms hundreds

So batman is just too big of a pussy to kill, it's the correct decision.

>doesn't kill joker = indirectly kills dozens and harms hundreds
Villains like Joker will often play this up as what happens but that's not how personal responsibility works. The DC heroes play their part and leave the rest to the law, Superman in particular is adamant in repeating that they're "nobody's judge, jury, or executioner" and all that jargon.

I tried to get into comics because my friend is nuts about them but its this kinda shit that infuriates the fuck outta me with them, not to mention there's always some obscure motherfucker that could fart and collapse reality.
Like goddamn, it gets so fucking incoherent.

>The DC heroes play their part and leave the rest to the law

The law literally doesn't work in corrupt Gotham and both the police force as well as batman know it. People die because of Batman's decisions to not to kill the Joker.

If batman beats up and cripples villains on a regular basis then isn't it highly probable that one of them died directly due to their injuries? If that's the case batman should just forget his morality bullshit

...

>kill thousands of tamed monsters and soldiers, mercs and the like just doing their job
>don't kill the guy who hired them to do their job
>because that's evil

i dont have a pic of disgust to post with this but if i did id post it

that incoherency is what drew me to comics in the first place. I like having a tangled mess to wrap my head around

>universal moral concepts
el oh el.

...

Is it tongue-in-cheek or legit?

Fucking this.
Why are you people so fucking dumb?

Even if you wanted an in story explanation it isn't Batman's responsibility to execute criminals, it's the state's.

...

Why doesn't Batman just permanently cripple the Joker until he's barely hanging on to life and needs constant life support?

Surely he can't do crimes if he's blind and with all his limbs broken.

...

Natural law and universal morality are real things. Humans are born with an intrinsic sense of certain things which are right and wrong for a reason, unless you're going to tell me that things like guilt are a social construct when even a child understands guilt well. Try not to tip that fedora too far.

Not if you fucking blow them all up in one swoop.
Just fucking bomb Arkham Asylum

Because Batman is afraid that they'll turn on him once he actually "cleans up" Gotham, so he keeps a couple major players around as a reminder to everyone why they need Batman.

...

It's the states job to do that, you dingus

>Surely he can't do crimes if he's blind and with all his limbs broken
Holy shit, this made me laugh so hard

...

Like I said, it's not Batman's responsibility to do those kinds of things. His job is to catch the criminals, and then hand them over to the authorities.
Blame the government for not executing or crippling a mass murderer and domestic terrorist.

Besides, I'm pretty sure he's done something like that before anyways and I'm pretty sure Joker just healed right back up because they can't come up with better villains anymore

...

You know, superheroes are actually pretty dumb and don't really bring justice to this worlds. Superheroes should be a 1-use-only devices.

...

>letting someone take the lives of thousands is bad
>BUT IF THE SYSTEM KILLS HIM WE'RE EVEN WORSE
I'm assuming this is just bait.

Sup Forums must have had thousands of threads on this subject by now
Have they not reached a consensus yet?

This has to be a joke.

...

Sounds like you're the one who can't understand basic concepts of morality, and how something becomes your responsibility when you are the only one capable of acting and choose not to.

So it's a story about failed state that cannot provide safety to its citizens and a very angry philanthropist that decides that enough is enough.

Have you never read a silver-age comic before?

I did not

...

>responsibility
I'm pretty sure that vigilantes have no responsibility to begin with (inside the system of law), and since the state is completely corrupt and inept, it's irresponsible to NOT oust them and break the law here and there.

"It's the job of the state" is an elitist mindset.

Nnnnnope.

Image search "silver age comic cover" for a quick laugh or two.

...

...

Batman villains are all supposed to be mentally ill, so theyre not actually responsible for their actions.

What the fuck is this nanny bullshit?

>i-it's not his job to hurt people
>batman should be wielding a feather duster and tickle his enemies to death, it's not his job to touch them
Batman has no problem beating people up. Just permanently hospitalise Joker like he's done to other criminals.

...
