Maybe the V in MGSV is also supposed to represent the decline in the series quality, as well peace, revenge, a split, five, etc.
Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes are on the top of the left line, and whatever is coming next, or whatever is next in the timeline of the franchise is on the top of the right line. Phantom Pain is at the lowest point where the two lines connect after a coma in the abyss.
Kojima games are usually like heaven, but MGSV was hell instead. Its advertisements were not about Snake's journey, but our own journey. We are a demon in hell, burning, suffering. What better way to make this feeling come to life than making a bad game that should've been a good game? Why else would the game be advertised in such a way? Why else would Venom refer to himself as a demon despite not doing anything wrong.
MGSV is an allegory for hell, and we're still living in that hell.
Don't you understand? MGSV was designed to make the lives of the hardcore MGS fans a living hell.

Good post OP.
Interesting theory.
I loved MGS1, 2, 3, and 4. I hate that piece of shit 5...
Ian Price
You should lay off the weed, OP.

>play all those delayed but ultimately finished masterpieces right now >think about what MGSV could have been if it would have been finished >realize I'm experiencing a Phantom Pain

>Hideo Kojima made me schizophrenic
Jackson Sanchez
>according to kojima, the game is unfinished and made to have an unsatisfying ending on purpose because war never truly ends is never satisfying just admit he didn't make a good game at all, kojicuck.
Alexander Wright
DUDE IT WAS SHIT ON PURPOSE LMAO
Joshua Jackson
When did Kojima say that? And I do admit Kojima made a bad game, but it isn't bad in a way that makes sense. There's some great things in MGSV, and the trailers, using select pieces of the story, told a much better story than the whole of the game in a completel different direction.
How can you write the Truth tapes, which are up to Kojima's usual level of quality, and Code Talker's god-awful vocal cord parasite tapes in the same game? How can you write Skull Face in Ground Zeroes as a terrifyingly sadistic and enigmatic character, whose juxtaposed with Big Boss, and then write WHOOOOOOOOO and the incomprehensible jeep ride? It just doesn't make sense.
There's no other way to explain it and the themes support this interpretation.

>204863 are co-ords to the bermuda triangle (gz helicopter crash) and iceland (ds trailer location) >the pt radio talks about gateways to alternate dimensions (mg survive, norman reedus's necklace), the men in the sky and how "they" have been manipulating media, don't trust the news (the patriots / konami-kojima controversy) >moby dick was released without an epilogue, the epilogue was included in later iterations >kojima has posted an IRL silent hill health drink several times >has made several tweets referencing "3"'s, like how much he loved the killing tv show but was disappointed how there was no season 3 (there was) >the second low roar album is called zero and has songs on it such as "phantoms", "don't stop (chapter 1)" and "don't stop (chapter 2)" >before GZ was even released low roar asked kojima if they could make music for him, point being he could've had this included in the ruse because they asked this before the konami / kojima rumors dropped >the pt radio even talks about norman reedus hanging himself with an umbilical cord >time winters (zero) narrates the mg survive gameplay, zero is literally showing us his latest experiment >when asked about the cancelled silent hills project on stage with Mark Cerny kojima quickly developed a massive shit eating grin, started acting really agitated, both him and mark cerny started cracking up >ford commerical called the phantom stars mads having a face transplant in cyprus wearing glasses kojima tweeted called 1985 >new playstation ad has the old kojima productions logo in the background >the contractor who trademarked sony's "v" is also responsible for death stranding and decima Then check out the poster. PT. Reverse Death Stranding. You get SD. PTSD The events of Phantom Pain were a coma nightmare. Death Stranding IS Silent Hills. On top of that the REAL MGS5 will be coming out next year.
I CANT FUCKING WAIT TO SEE YOU NON BELIEVERS GET BTFO AT E3

To add to this: >mads slipped up and said kojima has 300 people at his tokyo offices working on death stranding >kojima has claimed only 100 people are, to keep up the illusion this is a new independent studio >a gz prisoner mumbles about the schrodinger equation >"last year i thought i lost everything but i...*laughs*...didn't lose anything" - this is what kojima actually said at dorito pope's show >the pt system crash screen is signed by "j", the letter j is on the bridge toro enters in the ds trailer 2 >jordan vogt-roberts laughs when asked about the konami / kojima split 39:08 of youtu.be/x1bPQdbGyUY?t=2348

Yes, all of this is just a coincidence, pure coincidence. I cant wait to see the tears strolling down your ignorant blind face when everything is revealed.

OP here. There have been more coincidences than these before and after the release of MGSV, but we've been disappointed so many times now. Nuclear disarmament is a joke and we know that's even in the game. I'm starting to believe these ruses are just to twist and knife, so our hope can be shattered again and again.
Why is there no truth and only interpretations? We will never get the truth, and we're doomed to endlessly hope and speculate. MGSV's entire work is to ruin the lives of the hardcore fans.
Joseph Baker

What's the GZ picture supposed to mean?

i think we can all agree the series took a turn for the worst at 3

I miss MGS1, back when it was just an excellent game without having to use any postmodern-this-part-was-bad-on-purpose excuses.

What's it supposed to mean though?
Robert Anderson
this is literally the worse series its so mediocre and stale phantom pain and the rest were just ripoffs of cod and ghost recon roflmao
Benjamin Watson
Read the fucking post, it's explained there.
Jason Robinson
Because a mirrored poster was released you decided to superimpose the titles of two seemingly unrelated games and make one into an acronym so it would mean P.T.SD which means(?) that MGSV was a coma dream?
Dylan Morris
>that MGSV was a coma dream? Make sense considering MGSV fucks up the series timeline beyond comprehension. >IT'S ALL JUST A COINCIDENCE, I'M A BLIND FAGGOT
Blake Bennett
>decided to superimpose the titles of two seemingly unrelated games >PT >death stranding >unrelated If you read my post you'd see they're anything but unrelated.
Liam Cruz
It was just a mediocre game, let it go.
Brayden Edwards
>He then states an example of a punk band which you can read about it in the translation. He essentially states that there will “be a blank space” and “it won’t be filled”. He claims that within that blank space there is always a hero and “one can advance ahead.” so basically, "he didn't finish it on purpose".

Colton Gutierrez
I don't really care about the game being unfinished, I care what what's in the game not being very good, like Code Talker's tapes, vocal cord parasites, Skull Face, Quiet, etc.
Did it? I thought MGSV was pretty bad, but I didn't think it did much to mess with the timeline. In fact, the entire purpose of the retarded and unnecessary Venom Snake isn't Big Boss twist was seemingly to address a plot hole that nobody cared about from more than 20 years ago.
Carter Russell
>seemingly to address a plot hole that nobody cared about from more than 20 years ago. That wasn't even a plot hole. Big Boss simply survived the fight with Snake in MG1. During the MG1 credits he even leaves a message for the player saying something like "we'll meet again", he was still canonically alive even at the end of MG1.
Jose Martinez
I agree it wasn't a plot hole and I also assumed he just survived, but I didn't know about the message in the credits.
Carter Jones
Or maybe you have autism? I guess it's autism
Bentley Reed
I wanted this game to success and be the legendary title it deserved to be... but after years of hype trailers all we got was exactly that, hype trailers seasoned with some interactive pachinko repetitive shallow gameplay...
It was a marketing ruse from the very start. A cashgrab to surpass metal gear.
Thomas Bell
It wasn't a cashgrab, it was Kojima's revenge on us hardcore fans. He wants to drive us all to suicide.
Parker Powell
The V is short for Very bad game
Alexander Turner
Kojima's ambition is what killed MGSV. This was supposed to be his magnus opus but instead we feel the phantom pain
