I'm having a hard time finding confirmation on this and it's almost a deal breaker for me if it's not a feature.

Is there a "split screen + online" feature in this game? For example, Call of Duty allows two players to play locally in split screen as well as connect online for multiplayer. Can two (or three?) players play locally and in an online lobby at the same time? I can see it not being allowed for ranked but I don't see why not for unranked. It seems like a very simple feature for this kind of game.

I wonder if the online will be region free, that's normally a good thing, but in this case I don't think there's a force in the Western World ready for nip Puyo wizards

Just tried on my Switch and it doesn't seem to support it. Made a private room to see if it would count the two seperate joycon as 2 players but it only counted player 1's

Yeah for the Switch version. Cuz I know before the JP release only had Japanese. Hopefully they updated it so you don't have to buy twice if you want both languages. That would suck/

fusion mode seems like the best way to play. There are so may curve balls that even good players have to slow down significantly when they suddenly have a crazy shape that should never exist.

Most likely, yes. There are very few games that don't require PS+ for online play. The ones that don't require it are either free to play games, like Warframe, or games with a separate subscription fee, like Final Fantasy XIV. Even games with awkward online functionality, like Bloodborne, Dark Souls 2 and 3, and Nioh, also require PS+. I would be very surprised if Puyo Puyo Tetris doesn't require PS+.

Keep in mind, PS+ is not required for the Vita.

There are other video game stores than just GameStop, you know. I like Best Buy a lot and they have a membership program for $30 a year and you get 20% off all new games. GameStop's similar membership is more expensive, if I'm not mistaken, and is only 10% off of used games. The only problem with Best Buy is that their selection isn't anywhere near as large but they still get about 90% of games when they're new. For the rest, I order off Amazon.

I was about to recommend the PS3 or other console versions but I just looked it up and it seems like the only international releases are for Switch and PS4. Even the Xbox One version is Japanese exclusive. Sorry man.

Sadly the best way to play Tetris is against players who are at your level. Like friends or ask Sup Forums who most likely suck at Tetris like you do. Puyo Puyo however is different because there's not many westerns that played it pretty much all you play against outside of Nip will suck at it.

Tetris was always just Tetris. Puyo Puyo always had a weird character story. So Sega most likely felt they needed to create Tetris characters.
