What exactly is your problem with ds1

>Demon's Souls
lol you faggots just became Dark Souls with a hipster complex

What benefit does going to tseldora before doing ruin sentinels give? I can't think of any right now.

Early access to boss gear, but frankly that zone sucks. I always just rush a million souls to get the door open.

I don't mind tseldora, I hate the fucking gulch and no mans wharf though, can't believe they didn't make a shortcut at the docks fucking hell..

I go gulch because the boss is so easy to farm.
Early on those lion knights were always such a hassle I'd rather go through the fucking gutter.

There is a shortcut at the docks.

There is not motherfucker, I bet you're the guy who puts messages at the edge telling them to jump or attack so they fall off.

You should proofread stuff like this before you post it.

Technically the boat from the wharf to the keep could be considered a shortcut?

There's a section of bridge that you can kick to make it fall down. It cuts your time from bonfire to boss chamber down to 20 seconds, max.

That's only the SoTFS edition, there is no shortcut in the base game.

My mistake, then. Though to be fair, Flexile Sentry really isn't that hard.

1 shitters really do ruin everything

>Dark Souls 2 fans
>Admits to the game's faults
if they admitted to the games faults they wouldn't be playing it over the other games

He isn't, but going through the area in one go, without missing items and going by gavlan and shit, will fuck the durability of your weapons and potentially empty your estus with those darklurker fuckers. In the end taking on the sentry in NG isn't an issue, in NG+ or having used an ascetic will make 2 fuckers spawn in with the fight.

Every game has improved the combat in some form, even DS3, because regardless of what memers say, every fucking game in the series was R1 spam in one form or another. Fuck, Bloodborne is the epitome of R1 spam with it's mentality of sticking close and whaling on targets. DS1, being so early in the series, clearly is lacking in comparison to the later entries, but is certainly good enough still, same with DeS.

DS1 still has the best world though, bar none. The amount of shit you can decide to do from the first moment you land in firelink dwarfs any other game at any fucking point. You can kill Taurus demon, Gargoyles, Pinwheel, Quelaag, Sif, Butterfly, Capra demon and Stray demon as your first boss, unless you count Asylum demon. There's very little that is locked off from access early in comparison to the other games, with a lot of connections between areas.

>DS2 fans will admit the games faults

lol

>There's very little that is locked off from access early in comparison to the other games, with a lot of connections between areas.

This was what captured me about the game as well, but I was too late to get into DaS1 before it being a dead game. Picking up DaS2 hoping that is was the same, but it really isn't and doesn't matter regardless, because there are no difficulty differences between bosses.

> DS3>BB>DS2>DeS>DaS

Its like everytime I come onto Sup Forums these ranking lists get worse and worse

What makes that such a good trait for DS games though is for repeated playthroughs there are tons of options in terms of progression and available gear/spells. If one wants to get a certain armor or weapon or spell, most of it is available from the get go with a bit of clever planning or strategy, even getting the stat requirements met isn't hard due to boss soul duping if one doesn't care for the challenge part of the game at that point.

Also, due to the nature of the endgame, again most of the stuff there is available rather quickly if you go straight for it, since the endgame splits into different parts rather than a linear rush to the end. Izalith, final part of the TotG and the Douks archives are all available immediately after the Super Londo Bros, which means that for anything that is gotten from any of their final areas, at most you'd need to kill 5-6 bosses to get your first lord down, 4Kings only needing one before being killable if you're good. DS1 is breddy gud in that aspect in comparison to the rest of the series.
