I expect the weapons and loot from the first game wont carry over and people will be mad for a week and then forget about it and buy it anyway.

I expect all of the cool shit to not be hidden behind codex entries

Better gameplay than the previous one, more in-depth etc. And fun co-op times with my bromates. Also hoping for a romance option with a celebrity VA where I will hear her make sex noises for a minimum of 30 minutes.

It will probably be an improvement on the first one. Bungie's development from the first iteration of Destiny to it's current state has been an improvement and from all the information I've gathered it actually seems like they have had all the time they wanted to fully develop Destiny 2. Marketer-kun if you're here give us beta codes.

I expect there to be day 1 dlc. Also at least 3 or 4 expansions.

My expectation is that everyone here will play it at some point since it's on PC now. We haven't gotten a AAA sci-fi shooter with top notch art in too long, consoles have been hogging them all. No more fucking bullshit online fees, not to mention it's cheaper to buy on PC too.

Same core gameplay, more depth RPG wise, non-raid content will be better since they didn't scrap it all to start from scratch in less than a year this time.

what I'd really like is many more abilities to make it more similar to an rpg or even overwatch... say 3 usable abilities at any given time in addition to the basic weapon functions. I also want to see content that makes it worth playing for people who are allergic to co-op and have no friends. A big PvP focus would be nice.

didn't bother playing long enough to be able to tell I guess, it definitely felt like the formula was too simple. I guess I just want more gameplay depth. Especially when this thing is on PC, people will destroy singleplayer by playing corners with perfect potshots, and I think that's where having some great AI could shake things up instead of the standard enemy sponges.

You really can't judge the PVE gameplay by the story missions or strikes, the raids are almost a completely different game by comparison and the core gameplay really shines there. Nowhere near as deep as an actual RPG or anything, but I can't think of another shooter which comes even close.

Unless it has changed a lot in the last few years I don't think so.

I don't see why a shooter can't be as deep as an rpg. Shooters are more mechanically demanding and you could potentially still add the layer of strategic ability usage and class based movement quirks. It probably won't reach its potential though because console control scheme takes precedence.

You easily could, even within the framework of Destiny's core gameplay. They obviously don't want to though, and I'm fine with it staying where it is honestly. As long as the non-raid stuff gets a good deal more effort put into it in Destiny 2 anyway.

If I had to guess, Humans are probably the most played race on average just like in every other mmorpg so that's their way of appealing to the masses.

Think about how Destiny works as a game system:
Players gain equipment to make themselves stronger
There's PvP, and all characters have the same hitboxes
Therefore, armor cannot be substantially different between characters
Therefore, playable fallen cannot occur
