What I remember were some experiments where they put plants in pairs inside a room, then some dude comes up and destroys one in presence of the other. They noticed the living plants were doing something or other every time that same dude entered the room.
It might be some sort of pseudo-scientific experiments though, but I always considered them kinda plausible because plants are living organisms after all.
