Fun times we played Secret of Mana.
bump for zsnes love
...
The official emulator of the early 2000s. For the longest time I wouldn't use anything else.
>tfw you're old enough to have nostalgia for emulators of old consoles
I have seen this picture for a decade on Sup Forums now and I still don't get it.
I need to read the full story again, do you have it?
Its been a long fucking time since I read it, but basically two friends were playing secret of mana, and one of them got ride of his power wrist by mistake, and left it in a potatoe sack. They got pretty far into the game, and then he realized it was super handy and he should probably get it, so he bitches at his friend the entire time to go back. Its much funnier the way it was written.
>potato sack
Pretty sure it was something about having to go back to potos village or something like that to buy a new power wrist.
>snow effect
Two guys playing online using an emulator. Player two has an autistic obsession with a really shitty early game weapon. Player one accidentally sells it, since he's the one running the menus. Player two demands they go all the way back to the start of the game to get the weapon again. Dunno what happens after that.
RetroArch actually added a snow background recently.
Actually the power wrist was a shit item at this level and he still insisted on keeping it even though there were better ones. The joke is it has nothing to do with "potatos", it's simply that the power wrist is sold in "Potos Village".
Well, that's not really a joke. It's just one of the early memes, but it was never a good meme.
>So I'm playing Secret of Mana with my friend Senate over ZSNES. We just got to The Empire (more than halfway through the game), and he's still wearing his fucking power wrist. It has 4 defense, as opposed to the ~20 defense from the armor available to us right now (this makes a lot of difference in the world of mana), but he keeps it anyways because it has +5 STR which he is convinced is more important than any amount of defense (it's not).
>So while we were in the shop at The Empire, he gave up control of his character for a moment to go AFK, so I popped into his inventory and unequipped his power wrist so I could sell it and buy a Golem Ring instead. He noticed soon after he returned that his power wrist was missing, and became irate.
>So now we're on our way to "potatos" (he means Potos Village) to buy back his power wrist. What he doesn't know is that he can buy it at the shop we just left in The Empire.
It was an accessory. Senate is dumb and doesn't even realize Potos Village didn't sell that thing.
theres a way to play it online?
You've been able to play it online for more than a decade. Emulators have supported netplay for a long time.
>Senate is dumb and doesn't even realize Potos Village didn't sell that thing.
Indeed, and let's end this meme forever: the power wrist is sold in the Dwarf village and in Potatora.
But you've clearly highlighted Load (ROM). Something doesn't add up here.
what is it meme
I had no idea
Anyone up to playing something? Downloading zsnes rn
...
look up fightcade as well if you want some online arcade stuff
Back then Snes9x was too heavy to your average computer warrior.
source right the fuck now
>People who still use ZSNES instead of using bsnes
>inb4 cucks using something other than zsnes
