Granted I imagine Echoes is more of a B-tier stopgap to pad the 3DS and keep the brand alive while we wait for the major Switch flagship FE and Warriors, but still, I feel like not scuttling the Gaiden gameplay and some of its grindier JRPG indulgences, and making it closer to a more conventional FE is gonna hurt its longterm prospects.

Chances are they either are still porting their engines, or just started to now due to the sales. Switch has huge games coming for at least 3 months, and we still have E3 for more announcements. Even if sales decline, the system is going to be a massive selling for at least the rest of the year. If they weren't already working on something, its possible that big devs could be fucked until 2018.

It didn't get a single game because the Vita was doing better than either console and was not only portable, but cheaper to develop for since it ran on older hardware. Niche nip developers can't churn out top quality AAA visuals so they need an oder, cheaper device to fall back on.

With Vita being kill, the Switch will be that device. It's cheaper with older hardware and portable. You'll still get PS4 ports of every game, and they'll look and run better, but you'll certainly see that these games were designed for Switch first.

The real test will be soon. Mario Kart will sell well and keep hardware high, but can Street Fighter II and ARMS hold the line until Splatoon?>

Minecraft is insane, it sold over a million even on the Vita.

Still, it has a lack of waifu-ing and MU SI-ing, and it sold this well. Compared to before, it would have sold this much after several weeks. Meaning, as long as they don't ridiculously screw it up, it's going to be a very profitable franchise and asset to Nintendo.
