I thought Ryuji had his decent moments, they were just offset by a lot of increasingly stupid moments.

Though I blame part of that on his comic-relief role of being the one the group would never take seriously more than on his actual characterization.

His entire fucking social link is about how he ruined everything for his "friends" was outcasted and branded a thug (to the point he acts and "dresses" like one) and INSTEAD of becoming a little bitch, he still has a backbone.
He's actually a really well written character that was practically ruined by Morgana bullying his ass for the entire first part of the game, which in turn made him treat Morgana like shit.
But heaven forbid the cat's feelings get hurt and he runs off like a little bitch for a week, even though that entire thing was started by his own insecurity.
God fucking DAMNIT.
